Buffalo Bills.com reports the team has signed DB Jason Bostic, C Tom Schau, C Michael Early, and DT DeVonte Peterson. Bostic was released by the Eagles prior to the start of the 2001 season. Peterson was in the Bills 2001 training camp and was released prior to the start of the regular season. Early played for the Bills in 2000. Schau was released by Green Bay prior to the 2001 season.

The Trenton Times reports Philadlephia Eagles DE Ndukwe Kalu now has a removable cast on his ankle. Coach Andy Reid is hoping to have him back for Sunday's season opener, but that's not likely. Starting OLB Ike Reese had to miss practice due to swollen eye and a concussion, but he's expected back tomorrow. CB Al Harris sat out yesterday's practice with back spasms. DB Jason Bostic (knee) and WR Gari Scott (shoulder) both returned to practice yesterday for the first time in over a week. Hank Fraley is now expected to be the starter at center for the injured Bubba Miller (on IR) with Jim Pyne backing him up.

Coach Andy Reid said there was a possibility Montgomery could be placed on injured reserve. With DBs Jason Bostic (knee) and William Hampton (rib) also hurting, the team may have to hang on to all the defensive backs on the roster for Thursday's game. The Eagles are also shorthanded at WR due to injuries. Freddie Mitchell sat out practice because of tightness in his hamstring. Gari Scott (shoulder) and Scott Keys (knee) did some work, but do not appear to be ready to play in a game. The injuries may force the team not to cut any WRs at this time.

Phil Sheridan reports for the Philadelphia Inquirer Philadelphia Eagles rookie DE Derrick Burgess left the morning practice on Saturday with cramps and he did not work out in the afternoon. WR Gari Scott will be hard pressed to win a roster spot if he can't play in this week's pre-season finale. "I was very excited to see him this training camp, and it was unfortunate that he was nicked up," coach Andy Reid said. CB Jason Bostic did not practice because of swelling in his knee. Rookie S Julian Jones, placed on IR earlier in the week, is scheduled to have surgery Tuesday on his shoulder.

According to their official site, free agent WR James Thrash (Redskins) had a good visit with the Philadelphia Eagles earlier today. He called his Eagles visit, after previous stops in Denver and San Diego, the "best so far." Thrash is most impressed with the Eagles being a contender and also their QB situation with Donovan McNabb. The team announced they re-signed FS Jason Bostic to a one-year contract. No terms were released, but as an exclusive-rights free agent, he probably simply signed his tender offer.

According to their official site, the Philadelphia Eagles have tendered their exclusive-rights free agents PK David Akers, FS Jason Bostic, OL Hank Fraley and G/T Ryan Schau. As exclusive-rights free agents, these four cannot negotiate with any other team in the free agency period.

Autry sprained his ankle against the Bengals Sunday and his status for the Bucs is unknown. Nobody else is seriously injured. WR Charles Johnson (shoulder), TE Chad Lewis (elbow), Jason Bostic (hamstring) and DL Corey Simon (lower back) will all be listed as probable.
