Jamison Hensley, of The Baltimore Sun, reports free-agent LB Tony Fein (Ravens), who was with the Baltimore Ravens during the preseason, died Tuesday, Oct. 6, according to his agent. There were no immediate details about his death, said the agent, Milton D. Hobbs. "It's a very sad situation," Hobbs said. "I am still trying to figure out what happened." Fein was 27.

The Baltimore Ravens have announced they have waived WR Jayson Foster, OG Bryan Mattison, CB Evan Oglesby, OT Joe Reitz, OT Stefan Rodgers, TE Isaac Smolko, OL Tre' Stallings, WR Ernie Wheelwright, DT Nader Abdallah, FB Jason Cook, TE Davon Drew, LB Tony Fein, S K.J. Gerard, RB Cedric Peerman, WR Eron Riley and LB William VanDeSteeg. The Ravens have also waived DT William Johnson (shoulder) after reaching an injury settlement.

The Associated Press reports Baltimore Ravens LB Tony Fein was arrested and charged with assaulting an officer Sunday, Aug. 23. Police spokesman Anthony Guglielmi says Fein was eating dinner Sunday evening when a security officer thought he saw Fein pass a handgun to one of his friends. It turned out to be a cell phone. Fein became belligerent and shoved an officer when police questioned him, according to Guglielmi. A police report says the officer was knocked to the ground and has an injured elbow.

Mike Sando, of ESPN.com, reports the Seattle Seahawks have signed undrafted rookie free agents DE Michael X. Bennett (Texas A&M), LB Tony Fein (Mississippi), RB Devin Moore (Wyoming), LB Dave Philistin (Maryland), OT Andre Ramsey (Ball State) and RB Tyler Roehl (North Dakota State). Terms of the deals were not disclosed.
