"Playing for New England is a dream, but like you said, there's a short window in this sport, especially. I don't know yet. There's a lot of things that can happen going forward that could sway that one way or another. Hopefully it all works out in favor for both."

Fri, 25 Oct 2013 14:34:35 -0700
New England Patriots WR Julian Edelman (thigh) was limited during practice Friday, Oct. 25, and is listed as questionable for Week 8.
Fantasy Tip: Edelman likely will lose targets because Danny Amendola and Rob Gronkowski are returning to the lineup. Owners should consider Edelman as a flex option this week or could keep him on the bench if they have better options.
Fri, 25 Oct 2013 12:07:05 -0700
New England Patriots WR Danny Amendola (concussion, groin) said he is "feeling good and ready to go" in Week 8 against the Miami Dolphins. Amendola has passed all of the league-mandated tests for concussions this week. Amendola has been limited in practice all week. "I've had one concussion in the NFL prior to this, it was a long time ago, so there is no aftermath of it," he said. "I don't feel any symptoms or anything. I feel really good."
Fantasy Tip: It looks like Amendola has a good shot to play. If he's in there, he should be in your starting lineup. This will hurt Julian Edelman, who is more of a flex play in deeper leagues now.

New England Patriots WR Julian Edelman (thigh) was limited during practice Thursday, Oct. 24.

Fri, 18 Oct 2013 16:19:44 -0700
New England Patriots WR Julian Edelman (thigh) was limited during practice Friday, Oct. 18, and is listed as questionable for Week 7.
Fantasy Tip: Edelman was been able to practice all week and should be able to play Week 7. He should be considered a No. 2 or No. 3 wide receiver for most fantasy owners.
Fri, 18 Oct 2013 10:07:53 -0700
New England Patriots WR Danny Amendola (concussion) was not seen at practice Friday, Oct. 18, and he's unlikely to play in Week 7 against the New York Jets.
Fantasy Tip: Just another reminder of how brittle Amendola is. Keep him out of your lineups. Julian Edelman should be a must-start, especially in point-per-reception leagues, this weekend.
Thu, 17 Oct 2013 16:23:25 -0700
New England Patriots WR Julian Edelman (thigh) was limited in practice Thursday, Oct. 17.
Fantasy Tip: It looks as though New England will be without Danny Amendola (head) and Rob Gronkowski (forearm, back) another week, raising Edelman's value in Week 7. He should be in your lineups, especially in PPR universes.
Wed, 16 Oct 2013 14:24:48 -0700
New England Patriots WR Julian Edelman (thigh) was limited in practice Wednesday, Oct. 16.
Wed, 16 Oct 2013 10:48:03 -0700
New England Patriots WR Danny Amendola (head) is not participating in practice Wednesday, Oct. 16. The extent of his injury is not known at this point.
Fantasy Tip: Since the extent of Amendola's injury is uncertain at this point, owners should monitor his practice participation this week to see if he will be able to play Week 7. If he is not able to play, Julian Edelman likely will see him fantasy value go up.
Sun, 13 Oct 2013 13:29:57 -0700
New England Patriots WR Julian Edelman (leg) limped off with a left leg injury in the Week 6 game.
Fri, 04 Oct 2013 12:09:26 -0700
The New England Patriots are optimistic that WR Danny Amendola (groin) will be able to return this weekend against the Cincinnati Bengals.
Fantasy Tip: You'll have to monitor whether he's active Sunday morning, but if Amendola returns to the lineup, he should probably be in your lineups, especially if it's a point-per-reception format. Amendola's return will bump Julian Edelman's value down a bit, but he should remain somewhat relevant in PPR leagues.
Sun, 22 Sep 2013 08:40:35 -0700
New England Patriots WR Danny Amendola (groin) has been declared inactive for the team's Week 3 game.
Fantasy Tip: It appears Amendola may miss several weeks because of his groin injury. Julian Edelman probably will be the team's No. 1 receiver Week 3 with Kenbrell Thompkins and Aaron Dobson also receiving targets at wide receiver. Edelman should start for most fantasy teams with the other two being flex options.
Thu, 19 Sep 2013 14:19:05 -0700
New England Patriots WR Julian Edelman will draw a matchup against Tampa Bay Buccaneers CB Darrelle Revis in Week 3, but the two might not be matched up on each other for the entire game, as Bucs head coach Greg Schiano has mixed man and zone coverage in. Edelman is tied for the league lead in receptions with 20.
Fantasy Tip: You should temper your expectations for Edelman's output this weekend, but in point-per-reception formats, it'll be hard to outright bench him given the lack of proven success of the rest of the Patriots wideouts.
Thu, 12 Sep 2013 15:51:19 -0700
New England Patriots WR Danny Amendola (groin) is expected to miss two to six weeks because of his groin injury.
Fantasy Tip: Amendola has dealt with injuries in the past, so this should not be a total surprise. Julian Edelman, Kenbrell Thompkins and Aaron Dobson should become more involved in the passing, which will increase their fantasy value. The Patriots could also lean on their running game more with Stevan Ridley getting most of that work.
Wed, 11 Sep 2013 13:33:10 -0700
New England Patriots WR Danny Amendola (groin) is doubtful to play in Week 2.
Fantasy Tip: If Amendola canít go, Julian Edelman will likely take his spot in the lineup and is a nice wide receiver option in any fantasy football format.
Tue, 10 Sep 2013 22:02:14 -0700
New England Patriots WR Julian Edelman might benefit greatly in terms of targets in Week 2 against the New York Jets Thursday, Sept. 12, if WR Danny Amendola (groin) is inactive.
Fantasy Tip: Edelman is worth adding in all fantasy leagues of 12 or more teams if he is available off the waiver wire. He could be a valuable WR3/4 or flex fantasy option.
Tue, 10 Sep 2013 12:50:17 -0700
New England Patriots WR Julian Edelman is expected to be the top receiver in Week 2 against the New York Jets with WR Danny Amendola (groin) not expected to play. Edelman played in 83 of the team's 94 offensive snaps in Week 1. WR Kenbrell Thompkins will line up on the outside opposite of Edelman. WR Josh Boyce didn't register a catch on two targets last week, but his role will increase with Amendola out. Boyce can excel in short-area routes because of his speed and pass-catching skills. WR Aaron Dobson (hamstring) is limited with a hamstring ailment.
Fantasy Tip: Edelman should be the top waiver priority for those looking for another receiver this week. He should get plenty of looks from Tom Brady without Amendola around. Thompkins could be a solid flex play in deeper leagues, too.
Mon, 09 Sep 2013 14:57:24 -0700
New England Patriots TE Rob Gronkowski (back, forearm) was limited during practice Monday, Sept. 9.
Fantasy Tip: Gronk isn't expected to suit up in Week 2, either, and with Zach Sudfeld (hamstring) dinged up, the Pats may rely more on their receivers again. Julian Edelman, who had a big Week 1, should be snagged off the waiver wire immediately.
Wed, 21 Aug 2013 08:32:37 -0700
New England Patriots WRs Aaron Dobson and Josh Boyce have worked with QB Tom Brady more than veteran WR Julian Edelman over the first two preseason games. Dobson has seen 10 snaps with the starter, while Boyce has been on the field for 15 snaps.
Fantasy Tip: Dobson and Boyce could be primed to see a big role in the offense, or they simply could be seeing more work than the veteran because the team wants to see what the youngsters can do in game action. It's unclear at the moment. What is clear is that the receiving situation in New England is muddled, and really only Danny Amendola is worth anything more than a late-round pick on draft day.
Wed, 21 Aug 2013 08:31:51 -0700
New England Patriots WR Julian Edelman has been on the field for just four snaps (including penalties) with QB Tom Brady through two preseason games, and none in the most recent game against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. It's uncertain if the team already feels they know what they have in Edelman, so they are working their rookies in more, or if Edelman is behind on the depth chart. Edelman is likely to work as a top target in the preseason game Thursday, Aug. 22, against the Detroit Lions, with WR Danny Amendola (undisclosed) not expected to play.
Fantasy Tip: Edelman has proven useful in the past, and with only Amendola as a proven NFL receiver on the roster, it is hard to believe there isn't a role for Edelman following the departure of Wes Welker (Broncos). Still, it's unclear where exactly Edelman stands, so you won't want to risk anything more than a late-round draft pick on him at this point.
Wed, 07 Aug 2013 21:44:40 -0700
New England Patriots WR Danny Amendola, WR Julian Edelman and RB Leon Washington each worked on punt returns in practice Wednesday, Aug. 7.

Mon, 22 Jul 2013 21:37:02 -0700
The New England Patriots placed TE Jake Ballard (knee), WR Julian Edelman (foot) and OG Nick McDonald (shoulder) on the Physically-Unable-to-Perform (PUP) list Monday, July 22.
Fri, 19 Jul 2013 12:54:50 -0700
The New England Patriots will waive WR Donald Jones.
Fantasy Tip: The release of Jones should mean that Aaron Dobson and Josh Boyce will get more reps during practice and preseason games. The competition for the Patriots' No. 2 wide receiver job is wide open, so both rookies should have the chance to earn it. Julian Edelman could also be a candidate for the starting position. Owners should monitor the situation to see which of the receivers gets the job.
Tue, 09 Jul 2013 18:09:10 -0700
New England Patriots WR Julian Edelman is the team's best bet to line up as the No. 2 wide receiver in Week 1, according to ESPNBoston.com writer Mike Reiss. The receiver missed a chunk of offseason activities because he was rehabbing from a foot injury, but Reiss believes Edelman's biggest advantages are the trust he has earned from QB Tom Brady and his knowledge of the offense. Reiss believes that Edelman should quickly ascend the depth chart once training camp begins, as long as he's healthy.
Fantasy Tip: Reiss makes a lot of sense, and he knows the team well. Edelman is receiving virtually no fantasy attention as training camps approach, but there are certainly opportunities available. Edelman's knowledge of the playbook is distinctly beneficial in his competition with all the newbies in New England. Consider him a possible deep sleeper, although the upside is probably not great.
Fri, 28 Jun 2013 11:52:28 -0700
New England Patriots WR Julian Edelman could have a big role with the team in 2013 because he is the most familiar wide receiver with QB Tom Brady, and because of the subtraction of WRs Wes Welker, Brandon Lloyd, Donte' Stallworth, Deion Branch and TE Aaron Hernandez, and the injury situation with TE Rob Gronkowski.
