Three crew members from Whitney Motorsports were suspended Thursday, Nov. 4, after NASCAR found weight pellets were being used to fill the lower A-frames of the No. 46 Sprint Cup car at Talladega Superspeedway last weekend, according to SceneDaily.com's Bob Pockrass. Crew chief Thomas Tucker, car chief Richard Boga and manager Tony Furr have all been indefinitely suspended.

David Newton, of ESPN.com, reports suspended Sprint Cup owner/driver Jeremy Mayfield sold his hauler and inventory of cars and parts to John Carter. Carter plans to compete in as many races as he can the rest of the year. The deal, according to Carter, included six cars. Four of Mayfield's former crew members, including crew chief Tony Furr, are currently employed by Carter.

SceneDaily.com reports former Mayfield Motorsports crew chief Tony Furr has become the new Sprint Cup crew chief for Carter/Simo Racing and driver Terry Labonte. However, when driver Boris Said drives, crew chief Frank Stoddard will serve as the crew chief.
