The New York Yankees designated RP David Aardsma for assignment Friday, March 29, assuring that RP Shawn Kelley has made the team out of the bullpen. INF Jayson Nix and OF Ben Francisco are also on the team.

New York Yankees RP Shawn Kelley will be in competition for a bullpen job after being acquired from the Seattle Mariners. "He has a good arm and a swing-and-miss slider," general manager Brian Cashman said of the 28-year-old Kelley. "He has an option and we like his ability, so the more the merrier. He will compete for a spot on the team."
