Philadelphia Eagles head coach Andy Reid said CB Brandon Hughes (lung) spent a night in the hospital after suffering a lung contusion in the team's Week 15 game but has returned home.

Updating a previous report, Philadelphia Eagles CB Nnamdi Asomugha (eye) was taken to the hospital for further evaluation after suffering an eye injury in the first half of the Week 4 game against the New York Giants. CB Brandon Hughes took over for him, and will likely finish in Asomugha's stead.

It is too early in the game to figure out the roles of Philadelphia Eagles CBs Brandon Hughes, Trevard Lindley and Curtis Marsh. It will take until training camp and the preseason to figure out their defined roles, but someone will need to step up as the third cornerback with CB Asante Samuel gone.

Philadelphia Eagles CB Joselio Hanson is expected to benefit from the trade of CB Asante Samuel to the Atlanta Falcons. Hanson, who specializes in the slot, can also jump outside and start some games if needed. CBs Curtis Marsh, Brandon Hughes and Trevard Lindley each might move up the pecking order, depending on what the team does in free agency and the NFL Draft.
