Chicago Bears RB Kahlil Bell got the start in Week 16 against the Green Bay Packers with RB Matt Forte (knee) and RB Marion Barber III (calf) inactive. Bell did pretty well, running for 121 yards on 23 carries, while adding 38 yards on four receptions. Bell did fumble at the Green Bay 1-yard line in the third quarter, losing a touchdown for himself, but OG Edwin Williams pouncing on the loose ball for the score.

Washington Redskins OG Edwin Williams will need to be able to play both guard positions and center in order to make the team, reports Larry Weisman, of Redskins.com. Williams is most comfortable at center, which is where he started 39 games during college. However, he is progressing in every aspect. LB Chris Wilson said, "He's a lot better from last year. I've even seen him read a few defenses pre-snap. He was strong when he got here, stronger than strong, but mentally he's better. This is a hard game with your job being on the line so you've got to be mentally strong there. I think he's taking it all in stride and having fun. I think he's going to be here a while."

Washington Redskins C Edwin Williams says he is about 20 pounds lighter than he was just a few weeks ago and weighs about 315 pounds, reports Rick Maese, of The Washington Post. Williams said he is well aware that head coach Mike Shanahan's zone-blocking scheme traditionally favors lighter, quicker linemen. Williams said, "You think about things like that. You want to be one of his guys, no doubt about it. In this profession, somebody else is out there trying to work just as hard as you are. You've got to put yourself in the best position to try to succeed, try to do well." Williams is competing for one of the team's interior linemen spots.

Barry Svrluga, of The Washington Post, reports Washington Redskins head coach Jim Zorn said he did not yet know who would start the team's Week 17 game at right guard. Zorn said, "Right now we're working (OG) Paul Fanaika, we're working (C) Edwin Williams and (C) Will Montgomery." Zorn added, "I wouldn't name a starter yet. I probably won't name a starter, or think about it, until we're on that plane."
