Washington Redskins head coach Mike Shanahan said FB Eric Kettani will compete for a roster spot during training camp because the team likes his blocking and running skills. The team kept two fullbacks on their roster in 2011, but FB Darrel Young was the only one on the roster last season.

New England Patriots FB Spencer Larsen will be trying to hold off FB Eric Kettani for the top spot at fullback during training camp with FB Tony Fiammetta placed on the exempt/left squad list Saturday, Aug. 4. However, it is not a certainty the team will carry a fullback, so neither is guaranteed a roster spot.

The New England Patriots are likely to keep one fullback, and FB Tony Fiammetta (illness) appears to be the favorite to crack the 53-man roster. He was a help last season to the young back with the Dallas Cowboys before suffering an illness. FB Eric Kettani is considered a long shot to unseat Fiammetta on the depth chart.
