Miami Dolphins WR Brian Hartline, WR Brandon Gibson and CB Brent Grimes worked as punt returners during organized team activities Tuesday, May 21. Head coach Joe Philbin did not rule out the possibility of RB Marcus Thigpen being the punt and kick returner this season.

Miami Dolphins WR Brian Hartline is getting a look at returning punts at organized team activities. Hartline has never returned punts and will compete with RB Marcus Thigpen. "Possibly, but in what situations, I couldn't tell you," Hartline said of potentially returning kicks. "But they [coaching staff] made a point to tell me to go and catch punts every day."

Miami Dolphins RBs Steve Slaton and Marcus Thigpen are believed to be fighting for a roster spot. Slaton carried four times for 22 yards in the preseason finale against the Dallas Cowboys, while Thigpen had one carry for three yards and a seven-yard reception. Thigpen also had four kickoff returns for 24 yards.

The Miami Dolphins have signed RB Marcus Thigpen, WR Chris Hogan, DT Isaako Aaitui, LB Jonathan Freeny and CBs Vincent Agnew, Marcus X. Brown and Jonathan Wade and SS Anderson Russell to future contracts. Terms of the contract were not disclosed.
