San Francisco 49ers OT Alex Boone has received some praise for his stellar play this year at right guard. "He's come along really well, he's learning every week," offensive coordinator Greg Roman said of Boone. "You see a lot of different styles of defender, a lot of different styles of defense and Alex is the kind of guy we want, a guy that's pushing to get better very week. So he's doing a great job. When he gets out in space, he can get rolling, a bit like an 18-wheeler going down a hill."

Matt Maiocco, of the Santa Rosa Press Democrat, reports San Francisco 49ers OT Alex Boone has improved his body over the offseason. Boone weighed 340 pounds at one point last season and dropped to 300 pounds before the end of the year. Boone has added 25 good pounds and dropped his body fat from 25 percent to 19 percent. He said his goal is to get down to 15 percent.
