The Detroit Lions have placed a second-round tender on restricted free-agent LB DeAndre Levy and original-round tenders on restricted free-agent OT Corey Hilliard and DT Sammie Hill. The team would receive a fourth-round draft choice if they lose Hill and a sixth-round pick if they lose Hilliard.

Detroit Lions head coach Jim Schwartz said he was happy with how DT Sammie Hill played when he started in place of suspended DT Ndamukong Suh the last two games. Schwartz said Hill will continue to be in the defensive tackle rotation once Suh and DT Nick Fairley (foot) return as starters.

Hill says he's ready to handle the increased playing time created by DL Ndamukong Suh's suspension. "(The opportunity for extra reps) means a lot," Hill said. "(The D-line's) just got to do the best we can (without Suh)."

Detroit Lions DL Nick Fairley might be called upon for more responsibilities with DL Ndamukong Suh facing a two-game suspension. DLs Andre Fluellen and Sammie Hill might also be called upon. "We do have depth at the defensive tackle position," head coach Jim Schwartz said Wednesday, Nov. 30. "(Nick) is playing very well, as is (Sammie), and (DL Corey Williams) is probably playing the best football of his career. So, we're going to be just fine."
