Cleveland Browns QB Brian Hoyer could enter training camp as the starting quarterback even if the team drafts a quarterback in one of the early rounds.

Former Cleveland Browns general manager Michael Lombardi was a big reason QB Brian Hoyer came to Cleveland in the first place. "He had a lot of faith in me, and I'll always appreciate what he did for me to a point where not a lot of people believed in me. And I'll always look to prove him right," Hoyer said. Neither new GM Ray Farmer or head coach Mike Pettine have told Hoyer their plans for him in 2014, and the team could draft a quarterback with their first-round pick. However, Pettine appears to already be a fan of Hoyer.

Cleveland Browns QB Brian Hoyer wants to be the starting quarterback for the team again. "My goal is to be the starting quarterback again. It's definitely motivation for me," Hoyer said.

Cleveland Browns QB Brian Hoyer said he expects the team to select a quarterback during the 2014 NFL Draft that will compete with him for the starting quarterback job. "In this league, there's always someone coming up behind you or laterally moving. There's going to be someone for me to compete with, which I have no problem with. That makes you better. The question is, where (will they draft him?). I have no idea and I try not to worry about things that I can't control," Hoyer said.
