The Green Bay Packers may look to select an offensive guard during the 2012 NFL Draft because OG T.J. Lang is scheduled to be a free agent after this season and the team likely will not want to have two highly paid offensive guards. The Packers signed OG Josh Sitton to a $35 million contract before last season.

Green Bay Packers OG Evan Dietrich-Smith said Saturday, Dec. 31, that he has moved past the incident on Thanksgiving Day against the Detroit Lions when he was stomped on by DL Ndamukong Suh. "He called me a couple days after everything happened, and he's cool, he apologized, and there's no hard feelings and that's pretty much it," Dietrich-Smith said. Dietrich-Smith might start at left guard in Week 17 if OG T.J. Lang has to shift to right tackle to replace OT Bryan Bulaga (knee), who is doubtful.

Packers | Makeshift offensive line heading into Week 16

Green Bay Packers head coach Mike McCarthy said Wednesday, Dec. 21, that his makeshift offensive line faces a big challenge in Week 16 against the Chicago Bears. The Packers are expected to use OT Marshall Newhouse at left tackle, OG Evan Dietrich-Smith at left guard, C Scott Wells at center, OG Josh Sitton at left guard and OT T.J. Lang at left tackle. It appears OL Ray Dominguez and OT Herb Taylor will be the only two healthy backups.

Langley, CB Doyle Miller, TE Shawn Nelson, DB Joshua Nesbitt, WR Naaman Roosevelt, C Michael Switzer, T Jason Watkins and OL Mansfield Wrotto. The team waived injured SS Jon Corto (undisclosed), WR Felton Huggins (concussion), LB Jammie Kirlew (undisclosed) and OT Ed Wang (shoulder). The team also placed RB Bruce Hall (undisclosed) on Injured Reserve, ending his 2011 season.
