Former Denver Broncos WR Kenny McKinley reportedly had a gambling problem and was deep in debt before committing suicide Sept. 21, according to The Associated Press' Arnie Stapleton and P. Solomon Banda. McKinley apparently purchased the gun that he used to kill himself from WR Jabar Gaffney months earlier. Former backup QB Tom Brandstater said that he lent McKinley $65,000 and that McKinley owed $40,000 in casino markers in Las Vegas.

Denver Broncos WR Kenny McKinley, a fifth-round draft choice in 2009, was found dead, reports FOX31's Josina Anderson. His death is believed to be a suicide. KFFL.com extends our condolences to McKinley's family and friends.

Updating a previous item, the Denver Broncos announced Tuesday, Dec. 29, that they have officially placed OL Russ Hochstein (knee) and WR Kenny McKinley (knee) on Injured Reserve.

The Associated Press reports Denver Broncos OG Russ Hochstein (knee) and WR Kenny McKinley (knee) will be placed on Injured Reserve, according to head coach Josh McDaniels.

Lindsay Jones, of The Denver Post, reports Denver Broncos OG Russ Hochstein (knee) and WR Kenny McKinley (knee) will miss the rest of the season after suffering knee injuries in Week 16. Head coach Josh McDaniels said Hochstein will need to undergo surgery. OG Ben Hamilton will return to the starting lineup.
