Lions | Reggie Bush returns punts in OTAs

Wed, 22 May 2013 20:46:51 -0700

Detroit Lions RB Reggie Bush was used as a punt returner during organized team activities (OTAs) Wednesday, May 22. WR Terrence Austin, WR Patrick Edwards, RB Steven Miller, WR Mike Thomas and WR Cody Wilson also took turns returning punts.

Fantasy Tip: Fantasy owners would definitely like to see Bush off punt returns, as it is just extra chance he can become injured. Nothing is engraved in stone just yet, and Bush will still be an outstanding fantasy option, especially in PPR (points per receptions) leagues.

Lions | Two WRs getting up to speed

Tue, 20 Nov 2012 19:34:52 -0800

Detroit Lions WR Mike Thomas and WR Brian Robiskie stayed after practice Monday, Nov. 19, along with WR Ryan Broyles, to work with backup QB Shaun Hill running routes and getting better acclimated to the offense. "It's a way to get new guys who come in throughout the year to get them reps and get me reps too and teach the offense at the same time," Hill said. All three are expected to see an increase in playing time with WR Titus Young to be inactive in Week 12 due to disciplinary reasons.

Lions | Ryan Broyles, Mike Thomas to step up?

Mon, 19 Nov 2012 18:08:52 -0800

Detroit Lions WR Titus Young played 68 of his team's 72 offensive snaps in Week 11 against the Green Bay Packers, but he was benched late in the game and expected to be inactive in Week 12 Thursday, Nov. 22. WR Ryan Broyles played 31 snaps, and WR Mike Thomas played four snaps in the loss.

Fantasy Tip: Broyles will likely slide up to the starting WR spot opposite Calvin Johnson, with Thomas serving as the team's third wideout. While moving up the ladder is likely good news for their long-term fantasy value, a matchup with the Houston Texans on a short week is not particularly great news, even though their defense was trashed through the air in Week 11 by the Jacksonville Jaguars of all teams.
