Tue, 04 Jun 2013 16:56:11 -0700 Tennessee Titans RB Chris Johnson approves of new RB coach Sylvester Croom. Comparing Croom to Earnest Byner, who held the job during Chris Johnson's 2,006-yard season back in 2009, Johnson said "it seems like everything is going well. ... He's a pretty good coach." Johnson said Croom has tweaked a couple of Johnson's steps during running plays and routes coming out of the backfield. "That's a little minor change that I can tell is already helping me out," Johnson said. Tennessee is aiming for Johnson to log more receptions this year. Fantasy Tip: Johnson has experienced struggles with technique and system over his Titans career, and maybe these alterations could get more productivity out of him. Though newly acquired Shonn Greene looms as a threat for carries, especially in the red zone, Johnson could in fact wind up as a solid value as a draft-day RB2 that will more than often perform as an RB1.
Thu, 21 Mar 2013 11:16:36 -0700 Tennessee Titans RB Chris Johnson indicated he does not completely understand the team's signing of RB Shonn Greene but expects to be fine with the situation. "I have never been a big fan of the two-back system, so I don't know how we plan on using him," Johnson. "I'm not afraid of competition, but I was thinking we'd maybe get a draft pick for the other back. And you don't give a guy that kind of money to be just a goal-line guy and in tough-yardage situations. So we'll see what happens." Fantasy Tip: Johnson should still get a majority of the carries next season, but Greene could be used in situations that Johnson handled. Johnson should be considered as a starter every week while Greene should be viewed as a No. 5 running back until his role is more clearly defined.
Tue, 19 Mar 2013 19:07:53 -0700 Tennessee Titans head coach Mike Munchak said the team will use RB Shonn Greene in different ways next season and not only as a short yardage back. "We're not going to have him as a short-yardage back, a goal-line back and four-minute back and that's all he does. We feel he can play all three downs. He may get a series where he gets going and we're taking over the line of scrimmage and you want that runner in there and we leave him in there," Munchak said. Fantasy Tip: Even though Greene could get more work than expected, Chris Johnson will still see a majority of the carries in 2013. Greene could be used on the goal line at times, which will help his value, but should not been seen as more than a No. 5 running back at this point.

Wed, 13 Mar 2013 12:52:00 -0700 The Tennessee Titans agreed to terms with RB Shonn Greene (Jets) on a three-year, $10 million contract Wednesday, Mar. 13. Fantasy Tip: Greene will be brought in to be a complementary back to Chris Johnson that Mike Munchak has talked about so much this offseason. The idea is that Greene will be a running back that can do different things and fill a different role. It is possible that Greene could be used as a goal line back that will steal some touchdowns away from Johnson. Greene could be used a lot in short-yardage situations as well.

Sun, 03 Mar 2013 09:32:47 -0800 The New York Jets could lose impending free-agent DE Mike DeVito, TE Dustin Keller, OG Brandon Moore, RB Shonn Greene and FS LaRon Landry in free agency because they only have around $8 million in salary cap available at this point.
