The Cincinnati Bengals have agreed to terms with free-agent WR Brandon Tate (Bengals) on a one-year deal. Financial terms were not disclosed.

Impending free-agent WR Brandon Tate (Bengals) might not be re-signed, as he was too inconsistent as a return man and he struggled as a receiver in 2012. If the team re-signs impending free-agent CB Adam Jones, he'll likely be used as the return man, making Tate's re-signing even less likely.

Cincinnati Bengals WR Mohamed Sanu has emerged as a great red zone target for QB Andy Dalton to take attention away from WR A.J. Green. Three of Sanu's four touchdowns have come with WR Andrew Hawkins (knee) out, and three of Sanu's TDs have come on third downs. Sanu has eight third down catches in his four starts. He has gone ahead of WRs Brandon Tate and Armon Binns on the depth chart. "He's awesome in the red zone," offensive coordinator Jay Gruden said. "In zones he has a great feel for finding the holes and man-to-man he's got a big body (6-2, 210) where he can create separation for himself. He's everything we hoped he would be. It just took us too long a time to figure it out I guess."

Cincinnati Bengals WRs Andrew Hawkins and Brandon Tate each posted their first touchdowns of the season in a Week 2 win against the Cleveland Browns. Hawkins had two grabs for 56 yards and the TD, while Tate led the team with 71 yards on three receptions with the score.

Cincinnati Bengals WR Armon Binns recorded his first career NFL reception in Week 1 against the Baltimore Ravens. He finished with four catches for 28 yards. WR Brandon Tate had one grab for three yards.
Fantasy Tip: Both players are worth monitoring for fantasy purposes, but they are not worth adding to a roster just yet. The Bengals are looking for a player to step up as a tertiary receiving option to WR A.J. Green and TE Jermaine Gresham, and in Monday's game, that looked to be WR Andrew Hawkins, not Binns or Tate.

Cincinnati Bengals WR Brandon Tate has been listed as a starting wide receiver opposite A.J. Green and ahead of WR Armon Binns on the team's first depth chart of training camp. Tate dealt with hamstring problems last week but returned to practice and played in the team's scrimmage Sunday, Aug. 5, catching a touchdown. Rookie Mohamed Sanu was listed fourth on the depth chart.

Cincinnati Bengals WR Brandon Tate impressed during offseason workouts, and he took most of his snaps with the first-team offseason. If he is able to land a meaningful role, it would be the first time in his career that he has done so. To date, he has 24 total receptions for 432 yards and just three touchdowns.
