Free-agent TE Jared Cook (Rams) signed a one-year, $3.6 million deal with the Green Bay Packers Monday, March 28.
Fantasy Tip: Cook is a physically gifted receiving tight end that has never really harnessed his potential. He'll have to compete with Jordy Nelson, Randall Cobb and Richard Rodgers for touches, and he's a TE2 in fantasy.
Mon, 28 Mar 2016 06:10:48 -0700
Free-agent TE Jared Cook (Rams) is set to sign with the Green Bay Packers Monday, March 28.
Fantasy Tip: Cook will give them another receiving option, but he's little more than a backup fantasy tight end.
Tue, 15 Mar 2016 13:41:20 -0700
Free-agent TE Jared Cook (Rams) visited the Green Bay Packers Tuesday, March 15, according to a source.
Fantasy Tip: Cook was an underwhelming part of the Rams' disappointing offense over the past few years. Signing with the Packers and Aaron Rodgers would cause some intrigue. It's best to be patient with Cook, though. He only averaged 47.3 catches, 595.3 yards and 2.6 touchdowns in his three seasons in St. Louis.
Mon, 07 Mar 2016 19:04:38 -0800
Free-agent TE Jared Cook (Rams) is a played averaging 577 receiving yards over the past four seasons, and teams are intrigued by him heading into the free-agency period.
Fantasy Tip: Cook is a solid offensive threat, especially in the red zone, but he might fit best with a team which already employs a solid blocking tight end, as that area isn't exactly his forte.
Fri, 19 Feb 2016 12:05:56 -0800
Los Angeles Rams TE Jared Cook was released Friday, Feb. 19.
Fantasy Tip: Cook caught 39 passes for 481 yards and zero touchdowns this season and probably will receive some interest this offseason. Cook probably will be a No. 2 tight end for owners next season if he is able to find a starting job.
Tue, 16 Feb 2016 13:41:37 -0800
Los Angeles Rams TE Jared Cook could be a cap cut this offseason, according to ESPN.com's Nick Wagoner.
Fantasy Tip: Cook was a dud in 2015 after a couple of promising seasons. He failed to score a touchdown for the first time since his rookie season in 2009. If Cook were to be cut, Lance Kendricks would likely assume the starting tight end position, but would only be a backup fantasy tight end.

Denver Broncos TEs Owen Daniels and Virgil Green have combined for just 17 catches on 34 targets for 113 yards and two touchdowns this year. At this time last year, TE Julius Thomas was targeted 36 times for 28 catches, 304 yards and nine touchdowns. Daniels has always done well in a similar offense but is averaging only 6.1 yards per catch, which is four yards fewer than his career low.
If Daniels doesn't improve, the Broncos may be forced to look for a trade for a player like San Francisco 49ers TE Vernon Davis, St. Louis Rams TE Jared Cook or Chicago Bears TE Martellus Bennett. WR Jordan Norwood is improving in the slot role, but QB Peyton Manning doesn't fully trust him yet. Norwood hasn't been targeted more than three times since Week 2.
Fantasy Tip: Daniels ($4,000, 8.0% of cap) has been a little beat up but hasn't been able to get separation from opposing linebackers at his age. He is basically touchdown-dependent, making him a weak FantasyScore option. Green ($1,700, 3.4% of cap) is mainly used for run blocking and can be ignored everywhere.
Sun, 18 Oct 2015 09:59:38 -0700
St. Louis Rams TE Jared Cook is a player the Rams are open to moving before the trade deadline, and the team has received calls from interested teams, according to source. The Rams are not close to a deal at this point.
Fantasy Tip: Cook ($2,300, 4.6% of cap) had a solid start to the season but has posted only 37 receiving yards over the last three games. Cook's value could improve if he is traded, but owners should avoid him for the time being.
Thu, 08 Oct 2015 20:31:46 -0700
St. Louis Rams TE Jared Cook faces the Green Bay Packers in Week 5, and the Packers have allowed one touchdown to opposing tight ends this year.
Fantasy Tip: Cook ($2,300, 4.6% of cap) had 85 receiving yards in the season opener, but he has managed just 76 yards in the last three games combined. Stay away from him at FantasyScore this weekend.
Sun, 27 Sep 2015 17:04:16 -0700
St. Louis Rams TE Lance Kendricks had a pair of receptions for 12 yards in the Week 3 loss against the Pittsburgh Steelers while TE Jared Cook had one catch for seven yards. Kendricks was targeted five times and Cook was targeted thrice.
Fantasy Tip: Neither Cook ($2,400, 4.8% of cap) nor Kendricks ($2,000, 4.0% of cap) have much in the way of FantasyScore appeal, and they might need the other to suffer an injury to re-emerge as a useful fantasy option.

St. Louis Rams TE Jared Cook was involved in a scuffle with LB Alec Ogletree Thursday, Aug. 6.
Fri, 12 Dec 2014 05:45:23 -0800
St. Louis Rams TE Jared Cook said the team was outplayed and out-coached Thursday, Dec. 11, against the Arizona Cardinals. "We got outplayed, we got out-coached, and we just put a bad display out there," Cook said. When asked to elaborate on what he meant by being "out-coached," Cook replied: "Not really. It's pretty self-explanatory. We got outplayed and out-coached. All we put up was six points and didn't get in the (end zone) not once tonight. That's a pretty unsuccessful night if you ask me."
Sun, 07 Dec 2014 17:45:39 -0800
St. Louis Rams QB Jared Cook (concussion) left the Week 14 game against the Washington Redskins and was evaluated for concussion.

Fri, 28 Nov 2014 14:26:33 -0800
St. Louis Rams TE Jared Cook (back) fully participated in practice Friday, Nov. 28, and is listed as probable for Week 13.
Fantasy Tip: Cook has been fairly quiet over the last few weeks and only has one touchdown this season. Cook costs $4,900 on FantasyScore, but owners should consider spending some more money on a better option.
Thu, 27 Nov 2014 13:29:51 -0800
St. Louis Rams TE Jared Cook (back) practiced in full Thursday, Nov. 27.
Fantasy Tip: The Oakland Raiders have allowed three touchdowns to tight ends in their past three games, and Cook ($4,900, 9.8% of cap) has seen 14 targets in the past two weeks. There is plenty of upside, but Cook is far from a slam-dunk option.
Wed, 26 Nov 2014 16:54:54 -0800
St. Louis Rams TE Jared Cook (back) was limited during practice Wednesday, Nov. 26.
Fantasy Tip: Cook was able to play in Week 12, and it looks like he has a good chance to play this week. Cook has a price of $4,900 on FantasyScore, but owners may be able to find a better option.
Sun, 23 Nov 2014 11:54:43 -0800

Fri, 21 Nov 2014 13:04:12 -0800
St. Louis Rams TE Jared Cook (back) was limited during practice Friday, Nov. 21, and is listed as questionable for Week 12.
Fantasy Tip: Owners will need to check the inactive list to see if Cook will be able to play in Week 12. Cook costs $4,900 on FantasyScore, but owners may want to look to use other options.
Thu, 20 Nov 2014 15:17:55 -0800
St. Louis Rams TE Jared Cook (back) was limited at practice Thursday, Nov. 20, after sitting out Wednesday, Nov. 19.
Fantasy Tip: The good news is it looks like Cook has a good chance to play against the San Diego Chargers. The bad news? Well, the Bolts have been very stingy to opposing tight ends all year, averaging just 5.38 fantasy points to the position all season. Cook ($4,900) doesn't seem like the smartest FantasyScore option in Week 12.
Wed, 19 Nov 2014 16:06:13 -0800
St. Louis Rams TE Jared Cook (back) did not practice Wednesday, Nov. 19.
Fantasy Tip: Cook ($4,900), had just three grabs for 19 yards last weekend, and he hasn't had more than three catches in a game since Oct. 13 against the San Francisco 49ers. The San Diego Chargers haven't been kind to the position this year, either, allowing just 5.38 fantasy points per game. Cook is a weak play this weekend.

Sun, 15 Sep 2013 22:05:04 -0700
St. Louis Rams TE Jared Cook managed just one catch for 10 yards in Week 2 against the Atlanta Falcons. He was targeted six times.
Fantasy Tip: Cook took a giant step backward after his sensational debut with the team in Week 1. He remains a strong TE1 in most fantasy leagues, despite nearly being invisible in his one.
Sun, 08 Sep 2013 20:04:30 -0700
St. Louis Rams TE Jared Cook rolled up seven receptions for 141 yards and two scores in the Week 1 game against the Arizona Cardinals, marking the second-highest yardage total of his career. It was also the first multi-score of his career.
Fantasy Tip: Cook almost had a third touchdown on a long play in the first half, but he was stripped inside the 5-yard line after a long run, and the Cardinals recovered the ball in the end zone. It was a pretty great start for Cook and his fantasy owners. He remains a Top 10 option at his position.
Tue, 27 Aug 2013 08:58:18 -0700
The St. Louis Rams might be forced to carry an extra tight end on the 53-man roster. TEs Jared Cook and Lance Kendricks are atop the depth chart, but a leg injury to TE Cory Harkey (leg) might mean TEs Philip Lutzenkirchen, Mike McNeill or Zach Potter find their way onto the final roster to start the season.
Mon, 01 Jul 2013 10:19:33 -0700
St. Louis Rams head coach Jeff Fisher and other team members see TE Jared Cook as a completely different player than the one he coached with the Tennessee Titans. "Absolutely — night and day difference," said CB Cortland Finnegan. "I'm going to be the first to say that I was maybe like, 'Ahh ...' (when the Rams signed Cook), but when he got there, he's been tearing it up like I've never seen. He's comfortable, he's back where he wants to be and I'm excited to have him."
Fantasy Tip: The Rams don't have many aerial threats outside of rookie Tavon Austin, so Cook could surprise some folks with his versatility. Consider him a nice sleeper option off the waiver wire or with a late-round flier pick in deeper leagues.
Sun, 30 Jun 2013 09:07:39 -0700
St. Louis Rams head coach Jeff Fisher said the team will move TE Jared Cook around this season. "He's going to play all over the place," Fisher said. "We've even got him in the backfield, so we've got some good things for him." Fisher said Cook and QB Sam Bradford have spent a lot of time together this offseason in order to build chemistry.
Wed, 12 Jun 2013 14:56:56 -0700
St. Louis Rams QB Sam Bradford is working with the same offensive coordinator in consecutive seasons for the first time in his career, but plenty has changed about the team's offense. With RB Steven Jackson gone, offensive coordinator Brian Schottenheimer will now run the O through Bradford while trying to bust more big plays. "The speed that we have acquired and what we have on the outside now -- and even the inside -- it suits us more to spread it out and play more one-back this year," Bradford said. He also thinks defenses will have to design specific coverages for some of the speed weapons, a reversal from St. Louis' more predictable offense last season.
Rookie WR Tavon Austin is lining up in the slot, on the outside and in the backfield. Schottenheimer said Austin Pettis has had the strongest offseason of any Rams wideout. TE Jared Cook and WR Brian Quick deepen the amount of players that St. Louis hopes bolsters their red-zone potency.
Fantasy Tip: This Rams offense boasts a lot of intrigue that'll come at cheap prices in fantasy drafts. Bradford's risk has a bit more of an attractive potential behind it as a fantasy backup. Austin may become overvalued eventually but would pass as a WR4 on draft day, along with Chris Givens, their biggest breakthrough player last year. Cook might be a borderline TE1 for most of the year, if not better. Pettis and Quick might be sneaky late-rounders or free-agent bids. You can't write off this offense anymore, at least not for the cost of its pieces.
Mon, 10 Jun 2013 06:42:30 -0700
St. Louis Rams TE Jared Cook said the Tennessee Titans' offense didn't fit him, and he likes what he sees in St. Louis. "I think I'm on an elevator going up," Cook said.
Mon, 27 May 2013 22:35:47 -0700
St. Louis Rams WR Chris Givens connected with QB Sam Bradford on at least a few deep balls in practice Friday, May 24. Givens has added muscle and appears ready to handle a full season's workload.
Fantasy Tip: The added potency of new weapons - TE Jared Cook among them - may give Bradford more cred as a high-upside QB2. Givens showed big-play flashes last year and could be a WR4 in standard-scoring formats.
Sat, 25 May 2013 09:06:14 -0700
St. Louis Rams QB Sam Bradford appeared to have good chemistry with TE Jared Cook during organized team activities Friday, May 24.
Fantasy Tip: Cook probably will be the team's No. 1 tight end this season and should be involved in the passing game. Cook should be viewed as a solid No. 2 option for fantasy teams this season.
Fri, 24 May 2013 15:05:18 -0700
St. Louis Rams head coach Jeff Fisher said TE Lance Kendricks (knee) underwent arthroscopic knee surgery and will continue his rehab. Kendricks was not able to participate in organized team activities Thursday, May 23.
Fantasy Tip: Kendricks lost some of his fantasy value when the team signed Jared Cook this offseason but there is a chance both will be on the field at the same time. Kendricks should be considered as a weak No. 2 tight end this season because Cook likely will be the team's main receiving tight end.
Wed, 13 Mar 2013 06:08:46 -0700
Updating previous reports, St. Louis Rams TE Jared Cook's five-year deal is worth $35.1 million with $19 million guaranteed. The maximum value of the deal could be worth $38 million.

Tue, 12 Mar 2013 15:39:27 -0700
The St. Louis Rams reached an undisclosed agreement with free-agent TE Jared Cook (Titans).
Fantasy Tip: Cook and Lance Kendricks aren't prototypical pass-catching tight ends, but Cook could emerge as a nice alternative option for Sam Bradford in Brian Schottenheimer's offense. Cook should be considered before Kendricks, but only in deep or two-TE leagues.

Tennessee Titans head coach Mike Munchak said the team plans to make impending free-agent TE Jared Cook a bigger part of the offense next season. "We feel he is a big part of us having success, having him in the offense and using him in different ways with the changes we made on the offensive side of the ball," he said. "We feel we can give him an opportunity to catch more balls, be more productive and be more efficient without overworking him at the position."
