Raiders | Jared Cook ready to contribute

Thu, 16 Mar 2017 19:52:03 -0700

Oakland Raiders TE Jared Cook said his plan is to "make plays and catch touchdowns" for his new team.

Fantasy Tip: Cook has the most upside among Oakland's tight ends, but consistent production has always been an issue. Even if he starts, he should be drafted as a TE2.

Raiders | Jared Cook contract details

Thu, 16 Mar 2017 14:57:24 -0700

Updating a previous report, Oakland Raiders TE Jared Cook's contract is two years in length and worth $12.2 million, according to a source. The first year of the deal is fully guaranteed.

Fantasy Tip: As stated earlier, Cook remains a TE2 despite potentially being the Raiders' starting tight end.

Raiders | Jared Cook to sign with Oakland

Thu, 16 Mar 2017 14:31:35 -0700

Free-agent TE Jared Cook (Packers) will sign an undisclosed deal with the Oakland Raiders, according to a source.

Fantasy Tip: Cook will be an underrated weapon in Oakland's offense, assuming he starts ahead of Clive Walford and Mychal Rivera. He has the potential to turn into Derek Carr's safety blanket and go-to red-zone target, but don't assume that will happen. Amari Cooper and Michael Crabtree will continue to see most of Carr's throws. Cook remains in backup fantasy tight end territory for now.

Raiders | Jared Cook will visit Oakland

Tue, 14 Mar 2017 15:58:03 -0700

Free-agent TE Jared Cook (Packers) is expected to meet with the Oakland Raiders if he does not sign with the Minnesota Vikings.

Fantasy Tip: This landing spot would make more sense for Cook. He would be competing for the starting job with Clive Walford and Mychal Rivera. Even if that job is won, however, he would likely still be sharing the field with Walford and Rivera. The most likely case is that Cook will be a backup fantasy tight end wherever he lands.

Vikings | Jared Cook to visit Vikings

Tue, 14 Mar 2017 13:22:10 -0700

Free-agent TE Jared Cook (Packers) will meet with the Minnesota Vikings following his visit with the Seattle Seahawks, according to a source. That is unless Cook signs a deal in Seattle.

Fantasy Tip: Cook would play second fiddle to Kyle Rudolph if he were to sign with the Vikings. Backing up Rudolph would obviously limit Cooks' fantasy value and easily keep him out of TE1 territory.

Seahawks | Seattle to meet with Jared Cook

Mon, 13 Mar 2017 17:13:10 -0700

Free-agent TE Jared Cook (Packers) is scheduled to meet with the Seattle Seahawks, according to sources.

Fantasy Tip: Cook will have a new team this offseason and the Seahawks are his first visit. The Seahawks have Jimmy Graham on the roster but may want to use two tight ends in their passing game. Cook's value probably would drop a bit if he signs with Seattle but probably should be considered a low-end No. 1 tight end if he starts for a team.

Packers | Jared Cook not expected to re-sign

Fri, 10 Mar 2017 15:07:56 -0800

Free-agent TE Jared Cook (Packers) does not plan to re-sign with the Green Bay Packers, according to a source.

Fantasy Tip: Cook should be able to find a starting job with a team this offseason and can be a low-end No. 1 tight end depending on his team. Richard Rodgers appears to be the leading candidate to start for the Packers but is only a No. 2 fantasy tight end.

Packers | Jared Cook talks break off

Fri, 10 Mar 2017 06:24:45 -0800

Free-agent TE Jared Cook (Packers) has had contract talks with the Green Bay Packers broken off Friday, March 10, according to a source. He'll visit other teams.

Fantasy Tip: Cook is probably as physically talented as almost any tight end, but it just hasn't come together. He's a TE2 option wherever he lands.

Packers | GB 'being frugal' in talks with Jared Cook

Sun, 05 Mar 2017 09:09:04 -0800

Impending free-agent TE Jared Cook (Packers) is still in talks with the Green Bay Packers about returning, but there hasn't been much progress because the franchise are "being frugal", according to Bleacher Report's Jason Cole.

Fantasy Tip: It isn't overly surprising general manager Ted Thompson is taking this approach, as Cook is 30 years old with a long injury history and should be willing to accept a team-friendly contract in order to keep their Rodgers as his quarterback. Assuming Cook accepts a short-term deal with the Packers in the coming days, he could flirt with low-end TE1 status when healthy.

Jaguars | Jacksonville may look at several TEs

Wed, 22 Feb 2017 15:02:07 -0800

Green Bay Packers impending free-agent TE Jared Cook, Arizona Cardinals impending free-agent TE Jermaine Gresham and Indianapolis Colts impending free-agent TE Jack Doyle could receive interest from the Jacksonville Jaguars during free agency.

Fantasy Tip: The Jaguars have agreed to trade Julius Thomas to the Miami Dolphins and do not have a replacement on their roster, so they will be looking to add another tight end this offseason. The Jaguars likely will use their tight end in the passing game but that player should only be considered a No. 2 tight end in most leagues.
