Updating previous reports, Philadelphia Eagles RB LeSean McCoy (toe) has a painful condition similar to turf toe that flared up last week. He had an MRI and an X-ray on the toe, and he even had conversations about shutting it down if the pain became unbearable.
Fantasy Tip: McCoy has returned to practice, but this may be something he'll have to monitor all season. It shouldn't affect his draft stock much, but it could certainly give owners pause when he's one of the first names selected in drafts.
Mon, 18 Aug 2014 10:53:06 -0700
Philadelphia Eagles RB LeSean McCoy (toe) participated in practice Monday, Aug. 18. McCoy said he suffered a toe injury during practice last week but underwent an MRI and everything is fine. He plans on playing in the third preseason game but does not think he will need many reps.
Fantasy Tip: McCoy is expected to be involved in the running and passing game this season and likely will be in the conversation for the No. 1 overall pick in many fantasy drafts.

Philadelphia Eagles RB Henry Josey is expected to handle a majority of the carries after RBs LeSean McCoy and Darren Sproles in the preseason game Friday, Aug. 15, against the New England Patriots.
Fantasy Tip: Josey is one of the candidates for the No. 3 running back job in Philly, and his competition - Chris Polk and Matthew Tucker - are sidelined by injuries.
Mon, 28 Jul 2014 09:36:48 -0700
Philadelphia Eagles RB LeSean McCoy and LB Trent Cole squared off in a fight during training camp Sunday, July 27. "Next thing you know, they're on the ground scuffling," LB Brandon Graham said. "It was just a friendly thing, you know. They're always competing and talking stuff to each other. It was just one of those things." The fight was broken up before any damage was done.
Thu, 17 Jul 2014 09:24:51 -0700
Philadelphia Eagles RB LeSean McCoy is unlikely to be in line for a smaller workload this year after leading the league in carries (314) and touches (366) last year. There were no signs that McCoy's production suffered because of his heavy workload in 2013, and he often mentions that his running style helps him take fewer big hits.
Fantasy Tip: Despite the presence of Darren Sproles in the backfield, McCoy is one of the most talented all-around running backs in the NFL. He should be considered a top-three fantasy running back in this high-paced offense.
Mon, 14 Jul 2014 19:24:08 -0700
Philadelphia Eagles RB Chris Polk should serve as RB LeSean McCoy's primary backup this year with RB Darren Sproles maintaining a secondary role in the offense, according to ESPN.com's Joe Kaiser.
Fantasy Tip: With Bryce Brown being traded to the Buffalo Bills in the offseason, an injury to McCoy would mean a serious workload for Polk. He is worth considering as a handcuff if you draft McCoy.
Thu, 03 Jul 2014 12:21:26 -0700
Philadelphia Eagles RB LeSean McCoy praised QB Nick Foles, saying this is the year Foles has a great season. "Nick, he wants to play, he wants to get better," McCoy said. "He's playing lights-out even in camp, but he still wants to be at a higher level. He's at that peak where people know him like, 'Man, this Foles, is he that good?' Because you see the stats, you see the numbers. I think this is the year he blows 'em out like, 'Yeah, I'm Nick Foles. I'm Philadelphia's quarterback. I'm the guy.' And this is the year he blows it away."
Fantasy Tip: Foles surprised everyone and had a fantastic season in 2013, but losing his best wide receiver in DeSean Jackson may be a lot to overcome in 2014. Temper your expectations with Foles.

Philadelphia Eagles RB LeSean McCoy thinks he's the best running back in the NFL. "My brother always rips me all the time, trying to make me play harder. I say, 'I'm the best,' and he'll say, 'Did Adrian Peterson retire?' I look at the last three years and everything. I think AP has been the best back for so long, and he's been doing it for so long, that's why he automatically gets the best running back (title)," McCoy said.
Fri, 25 Apr 2014 20:17:24 -0700
Philadelphia Eagles RB LeSean McCoy said he believes the addition of RB Darren Sproles will help him this upcoming season, because it will allow him to stay fresh longer in games. "Being in the prime of my career and bringing in a guy like Sproles who can do so much, we'll work well together. I think having me fresh in the fourth quarter with fewer carries can be even more dangerous," McCoy said.
Thu, 13 Mar 2014 05:59:11 -0700
The Philadelphia Eagles acquired RB Darren Sproles from the New Orleans Saints for an undisclosed package.
Fantasy Tip: Sproles fits the offense well and will continue to be a good running back to own in point-per reception leagues. However, he'll be 31 next season, and he could have landed in a better spot for fantasy purposes. Sproles' presence may also limit LeSean McCoy's touches, but it should add more longevity to his career after his phenomenal, but taxing, 2013 season. Sproles should often be a good RB3 in PPR leagues, but is a RB4 or handcuff material in others. McCoy remains a stud RB1 in all formats.

Philadelphia Eagles RB LeSean McCoy entered the Week 7 game against the Dallas Cowboys as the league's leading rusher, but he was held to just 55 rushing yards on 17 carries. He also added six receptions for 26 yards.
McCoy had two 100-yard games with two rushing touchdowns through the first three games, but he has hit the century mark just once in the past four games, and he has just one score during the span. He remains an obvious must-start in all fantasy leagues going forward, but as the Philadelphia offense has struggled, mostly due to injury at the quarterback spot, McCoy's production has suffered.

Fri, 13 Sep 2013 06:48:43 -0700
Philadelphia Eagles RB LeSean McCoy wants the team to spread the ball around better on offense. "I didn't mind it Monday night," McCoy said. "I think we can do a better job rotating because it's a long season. I don't think I need to have the ball 31, 32 times in a game for us to be a successful offense. We have too many different weapons. I think the running backs we have here can definitely play. Bryce Brown showed you last year he's definitely a talented back. So I think we have to do a better job of monitoring the reps."
Tue, 10 Sep 2013 09:45:53 -0700
The Philadelphia Eagles' offense was efficient and quick in their Week 1 victory over the Washington Redskins Monday, Sept. 9; they ran a play every 22.4 seconds and 53 in the entire game. RB LeSean McCoy had big holes to run through, and WRs DeSean Jackson and Jason Avant and TE Brent Celek were wide open most of the time down the field. QB Michael Vick was very successful running the read-option. However, the Eagles players looked fatigued late in the game, often coming off the field for breathers. Jackson didn't catch any passes in the second half. "The tempo really worked," McCoy said. "I don't think anyone has seen it that fast. We've got to learn. We're learning as the thing goes. Coach Chip Kelly is a great coach. Today is the first time a lot of the guys in the locker room had fun. We couldn't wait to get back out there and have fun."
Fantasy Tip: Philly's offense was downright impressive in the first half. The up-tempo attack should continue to create mismatches in opposing defenses, but as we saw in the second half, is this something that Philadelphia will be able to sustain over a full season? Probably not, but for the time being, it makes all of the Iggles' offensive weapons much more attractive.
Mon, 09 Sep 2013 21:30:32 -0700
Philadelphia Eagles RB LeSean McCoy carried 31 times for 184 yards and a touchdown in the Week 1 game against the Washington Redskins Monday, Sept. 9. He also added one reception for five yards. His 31 carries marked a career high, and he was just one rushing yard short of tying his career best in yardage.
Fantasy Tip: If you're a fantasy owner in formats which reward points per reception (PPR), maybe you can complain a little bit since he had just one grab, but he still had a giant night.

Wed, 07 Aug 2013 18:04:04 -0700
Philadelphia Eagles RB Chris Polk continues to challenge RB Bryce Brown for the primary backup spot behind RB LeSean McCoy. The knock on Brown is that he continues to have a tendency to bounce it outside, while Polk runs more between the tackles. However, at joint practice Wednesday, Aug. 7, with the New England Patriots, Polk put the ball on the ground. Brown has yet to fumble so far during training camp.
Tue, 06 Aug 2013 21:33:24 -0700
Philadelphia Eagles RB Bryce Brown unofficially dropped three passes in practice Tuesday, Aug. 6, and he tends to want to bounce outside of the tackles when running. As long as I get my carries, I don't care who it is," McCoy said.

Tue, 14 May 2013 11:23:40 -0700
Philadelphia Eagles RB LeSean McCoy has been sued for an incident on a party bus. The team is aware of the allegations and has no comment.
Fantasy Tip: While this is an off the field distraction, it should not impact McCoy's fantasy value in 2013.
