Bills | LeSean McCoy adjusting to having a FB

Mon, 03 Aug 2015 06:20:12 -0700

Buffalo Bills RB LeSean McCoy is adjusting to having a fullback in front of him for the first time since college. Bills head coach Rex Ryan believes in a physical style of football that requires a lead blocker, in this case FB Jerome Felton.

Fantasy Tip: It may take some getting used to on McCoy's part, but it will save him a few big hits and could spring several long runs throughout the year. He remains an RB1 somewhere in the late first or early second rounds.

Bills | LeSean McCoy scares opponents?

Fri, 10 Jul 2015 18:25:51 -0700

Buffalo Bills RB LeSean McCoy strikes more fear into defenses than Philadelphia Eagles RB DeMarco Murray, according to a top personnel executive. "I'll take McCoy over Murray every time," the personnel executive said. "When you played the Eagles, you feared McCoy. He was the guy who scared you the most. When you played Dallas, you didn't fear Murray. He's good. But you didn't fear him. You feared Dez (Bryant), or (Tony) Romo, but not Murray."

Fantasy Tip: Both McCoy and Murray have RB1 potential. McCoy is probably the safer bet because he is in line for a workhorse role in Buffalo, but Murray is a high-end RB2 at the very least.

Bills | LeSean McCoy has struggled vs. AFC East

Tue, 07 Jul 2015 16:22:19 -0700

Buffalo Bills RB LeSean McCoy hasn't seen a lot of action against AFC East teams in his career. However, when he has played against them, he hasn't seen much success. In four career games against AFC East opponents, McCoy has averaged only 62.8 rushing yards per game and 3.8 yards per carry. He has, however, scored seven times in those four games.

Fantasy Tip: The AFC East usually boasts one of the best defensive conferences in the league every year. McCoy will have plenty of opportunities to improve on those yardage numbers in 2015 as he'll play against the three divisional opponents twice each. While he has struggled in the past, he should still be regarded as a low-end RB1.

Buffalo Bills RB LeSean McCoy (neck) participated in organized team activities Wednesday, June 3.

Fantasy Tip: McCoy has been dealing with a neck injury but looks to be fine since he is back at practice. McCoy is expected to receive a lot of work under head coach Rex Ryan and likely will be selected in one of the first few rounds in fantasy leagues.

Bills | LeSean McCoy at 300 carries?

Tue, 02 Jun 2015 08:10:56 -0700

Buffalo Bills RB LeSean McCoy is expected to receive 300 carries this season, according to teammate RB Fred Jackson. "I don't know exactly what my role is going to be, Jackson said. "They say that they want Shady (McCoy) to get 300-plus carries next year. So that's a guy you're feeding the ball all the time. So I'll be ready when my number is called."

Fantasy Tip: McCoy's status as an RB1 seems to be gaining steam into the upper echelon. We still can't see taking him higher than the fifth running back with the uncertainty of the parts around him. Jackson's stock is pretty dormant right now, but he's a solid RB4 and insurance for Shady owners.

Bills | LeSean McCoy limited Wednesday

Wed, 27 May 2015 18:48:44 -0700

Buffalo Bills RB LeSean McCoy (neck) was limited during organized team activities Wednesday, May 27, because of a neck injury. Head coach Rex Ryan said McCoy's injury is not serious.

Fantasy Tip: The team likely will take things slow with McCoy since he does not need to participate in offseason workouts. He should see plenty of playing time since Ryan wants to be able to run the ball. McCoy likely will be a first-round option in most drafts this upcoming season.

Bills | LeSean McCoy, Fred Jackson to split third downs?

Tue, 31 Mar 2015 15:05:45 -0700

Buffalo Bills RBs LeSean McCoy and Fred Jackson could split third-down snaps. Head coach Rex Ryan said Jackson wouldn't be in on all of the third-down plays and that RB Anthony Dixon would also get some playing time.

Fantasy Tip: McCoy is obviously still the Buffalo running back to own and will be the team's bellcow running back, as Ryan has said. Jackson should still provide some value, especially in point-per-reception leagues, but he won't be nearly as effective as he was last season.

Eagles | Chip Kelly favors one-cut runners

Wed, 25 Mar 2015 06:58:57 -0700

The Philadelphia Eagles traded RB LeSean McCoy to the Buffalo Bills because head coach Chip Kelly desires a one-cut running back, according to Eagles owner Jeffrey Lurie. Lurie praised McCoy as a player, but the move was not financially driven. Kelly felt he could garner more production from a different running back or two. Lurie used the term "power spread" on multiple occasions to describe Kelly's offense. RBs DeMarco Murray, Darren Sproles and Ryan Mathews figure to share the work.

Fantasy Tip: Murray was one of the best players in fantasy last season, but there's almost no way he can repeat that kind of performance with two other legit backs wanting the ball. With Sproles an elite receiver from the RB position, Murray may find it difficult to repeat his 57 receptions from a year ago. Murray still rates as a mid-to-low RB1. Sproles is a capable RB3 in PPR leagues. Mathews' role is a little cloudy, but he is likely a low-end RB3 for now.

Bills | LeSean McCoy trade was quick

Tue, 24 Mar 2015 10:31:26 -0700

Buffalo Bills RB LeSean McCoy was acquired from the Philadelphia Eagles March 4, and Bills head coach Rex Ryan said the trade took 30 minutes to wrap up. "The trade for LeSean happened really quick," Ryan said at the NFL owners meetings. "We were all sitting there. We were having organizational meetings. ... And all of the sudden we get this call from Philadelphia and I think that was when the trade started. Probably 30 minutes later, the trade was done."

Fantasy Tip: Shady moves to a ground-and-pound approach in Buffalo under Ryan, but the move is likely a mixed bag for his 2015 fantasy value. To be safe, he's better viewed as a high-end RB2 with potential for more depending on how Buffalo uses McCoy and Fred Jackson together.

Bills | LeSean McCoy Buffalo's bellcow

Tue, 24 Mar 2015 07:31:51 -0700

Buffalo Bills RB LeSean McCoy was referred to as the team's "bellcow" by head coach Rex Ryan. Ryan said that McCoy and RB Fred Jackson could see time on third downs.

Fantasy Tip: It sounds like the team will feature McCoy heavily, which helps shed doubt on Jackson's involvement. Jackson's value falls to the high-end RB4 territory, while Shady is best served as a midrange RB1.
