Bills | Less shotgun for LeSean McCoy

Mon, 12 Feb 2018 13:31:57 -0800

Buffalo Bills RB LeSean McCoy saw a career-low in percentage of carries from the shotgun formation last season (17%). Interestingly, that percentage has decreased in each of his last five years. Furthermore, his yards per carry and yards after contact were also the lowest of his nine-year career.

Fantasy Tip: McCoy will turn 30 years old this offseason, and while he's still putting up respectable numbers, he may be over the proverbial running back hill. He will remain featured in the Bills' offense, of course; Buffalo doesn't even know who its starting quarterback will be next season. As of now, McCoy stands in low-end RB1 territory with increased value in PPR formats.

Eagles | Philly tried to get LeSean McCoy back

Fri, 02 Feb 2018 06:50:05 -0800

Buffalo Bills RB LeSean McCoy was a trade target of the Philadelphia Eagles through back-channel intermediaries, according to sources. The Eagles offered a package of players that included then-Eagles WR Jordan Matthews.

Fantasy Tip: Turning 29 didn't hurt Shady from a counting perspective as he put forth 1,138 rushing yards, six rushing scores and a 59-448-2 line through the air. His 4.0 yards-per-carry average was the lowest of his career, though. There was a lot of changes and turnover on the entire offense, and he performed well despite it. He'll be 30 next season, and the upside will diminish, but McCoy remains an RB1 in fantasy.

Bills | LeSean McCoy listed as questionable

Fri, 05 Jan 2018 11:05:01 -0800

Buffalo Bills RB LeSean McCoy (ankle) is listed as questionable for the team's Wild-Card Game against the Jacksonville Jaguars on Sunday, Jan. 7, after practicing in a limited fashion Friday, Jan. 5. NFL.com's Ian Rapoport reports the "belief" is that McCoy will play.

Fantasy Tip: McCoy was carted off the field with his ankle injury in Week 17 and did not practice Wednesday or Thursday. While this news is good for the Bills in theory if they can get their best offensive player back on the field, the reality is he is a poor bet to handle a full workload or be anywhere close to his normal elusive self. The Jaguars' defense/special teams unit remains the premier unit to play in fantasy this weekend.

Fri, 05 Jan 2018 07:23:51 -0800

Buffalo Bills RB LeSean McCoy (ankle) will be a limited participant in practice Friday, Jan. 5.

Fantasy Tip: Shady is expected to lace them up this weekend, but he's not going to be 100 percent. He'll be an RB2 option against the Jacksonville Jaguars.

Bills | LeSean McCoy wants to play

Thu, 04 Jan 2018 12:00:26 -0800

Buffalo Bills RB LeSean McCoy (ankle) said he wants to be able to cut well enough while running without feeling pain. "The type of game like this, you got to lay it all on the line," McCoy said. "If I can't get [to] 100%, as long as I'm out there, and I can work effective enough, I'll do it. We'll just see."

Fantasy Tip: Not having McCoy would be a dagger to the Bills in their road playoff tilt with the Jacksonville Jaguars. The running game is the one area in which the Jaguars are vulnerable. Keep tabs on McCoy over the next couple of days. If he can't go or is limited then Mike Tolbert would see the bulk of backfield work.
