Titans | Kenny Britt undergoes surgery

Tennessee Titans WR Kenny Britt (knee) underwent arthroscopic knee surgery Wednesday, May 16, to reduce swelling in his right knee. General manager Ruston Webster said the procedure likely will set Britt's rehab back a week or two.

Tennessee Titans head coach Mike Munchak acknowledged Sunday, May 13, that WR Kenny Britt (knee) might require a second procedure on his knee. "I think it always is (possible)," Munchak said. "I don't know if he will at some point, but I think that's something that's common with that injury ... The good thing is that even if you do have it, it's not a huge setback. It's not something that sets you way back. But that is obviously part of the process, or could be, if that arises down the road."

Tennessee Titans WR Kenny Britt (knee) said he is optimistic about being ready for the 2012 season; however, his rehab has been a struggles at times. "I'm out there running, mostly at full speed, cutting, running around," Britt said. "The knee's still swollen, but that comes with the territory and we've got three months before I get back on the field." Britt added it's difficult to watch his teammates head out for work on the field and he can't join them.

Tennessee Titans WR Kenny Britt (knee) is expected back in time for the start of the 2012 NFL season. A month ago, he said he was ahead of schedule in his recovery from a torn ACL he suffered in September. Britt, however, probably won't be 100 percent in Week 1 and may take some time to work his way up to 70 plays per game.

Titans | Kendall Wright addition hurts other receivers

The addition of Tennessee Titans rookie WR Kendall Wright, who was selected in the first round, created a bunch of questions about WR Kenny Britt's (knee) health and which wide receiver may now be the odd man out. Wright has a chance to boost the receiving corps quickly and the team will likely need him to make an impact early.

WRs Damian Williams and Lavelle Hawkins will likely be hurt by Wright's addition. Both improved last year and proved they deserved more playing time, which will be tough to come by with Wright, who is an explosive player who excels on screens, in the mix.

Tennessee Titans WR Kenny Britt (knee) said he feels ahead of schedule in his rehab but is not sure because he can't compare his injury to other player's injury. He thinks he will play better when he comes back than he did before suffering the injury.

Tennessee Titans WR Kenny Britt pleaded guilty Wednesday, Feb. 1, to a downgraded charge of disturbing the peace coming from his arrest in New Jersey. He paid a $1,500 fine. The rest of his charges were dismissed Tuesday, Jan. 31.
