Fri, 25 May 2012 10:23:10 -0700 Updating previous reports, New York Giants WR Hakeem Nicks (foot) is likely to be out only four to six weeks after fracturing a bone in his foot, and he could very well play in the season opener against the Dallas Cowboys.
Thu, 24 May 2012 16:32:36 -0700 New York Giants head coach Tom Coughlin said WR Hakeem Nicks' (foot) availability for Week 1 could be in question because the estimated recovery time from his fractured foot is close to the start of the regular season. Nicks express confidence that his foot will heal faster than the estimation and doctors have told Coughlin the injury will heal well.
Thu, 24 May 2012 12:43:55 -0700 New York Giants WR Hakeem Nicks (foot) fractured the fifth metatarsal of his right foot during organized team activities Thursday, May 24, and is expected to miss around 12 weeks. He is scheduled to undergo surgery Friday, May 24, to repair the fracture. Fantasy Tip: Nicks will miss most of the offseason and probably some of the early preseason, but he should be close to 100 percent for Week 1. He has chemistry with Eli Manning, so the time off probably won't affect the duo much, if at all. Conditioning in the early season could be a problem; Nicks may be limited for the first few games of the year. Barring a setback, he should be selected as a strong No. 2 fantasy receiver that has No. 1 potential. You will want to build quality depth at the position to cover your bases. The injury could cause Nicks to slide into a position of great draft value.
Wed, 07 Mar 2012 13:23:52 -0800 New York Giants WR Hakeem Nicks said he will not need surgery on any of the injuries he dealt with this season and will allow them to heal during the offseason.
Thu, 09 Feb 2012 14:17:18 -0800 New York Giants WR Hakeem Nicks, DE Justin Tuck, LB Mathias Kiwanuka and CB Corey Webster could be candidates to receive contract extensions in the near future.
Mon, 06 Feb 2012 05:24:38 -0800 New York Giants WR Hakeem Nicks was effective on throws less than 15 yards downfield, catching all nine of his targets. It is the fourth time all season a receiver has been targeted at least nine times on throws 14 yards or less and caught all of them.
Sun, 05 Feb 2012 23:35:31 -0800 New York Giants WR Hakeem Nicks led all receivers during Super Bowl XLVI with 10 receptions for 109 yards. He also fumbled once, but it was recovered by the Giants.
