New York Jets WR Percy Harvin won't play 50 snaps in his debut with the team in Week 8 against the Buffalo Bills, according to head coach Rex Ryan.
Fantasy Tip: Harvin will have a limited role on offense, and he may return punts against the Bills. In that case, he should be avoided at FantasyScore for a price of $5,500 (11.0% of cap).

New York Jets WR Percy Harvin's role on offense will depend on how fast he can learn the playbook, according to head coach Rex Ryan. Ryan said Harvin will return kicks for the team.
Fantasy Tip: Harvin likely will be eased into the offense, so owners should lower their expectations on him for the time being. Harvin could be a flex option on FantasyScore depending on his price tag.

Other players like DE Cliff Avril and LB Bruce Irvin expressed disapproval.

Clarifying a previous item, the Seattle Seahawks will receive a conditional sixth-round draft pick that could turn into a fourth-round selection from the New York Jets, in exchange for WR Percy Harvin. Sat, 18 Oct 2014 15:54:28 -0700
Updating previous reports, New York Jets WR Percy Harvin's trade to join the Jets is official.
Fantasy Tip: The Jets have already played this week, so Harvin will not be a factor on FantasyScore for Week 7.
Sat, 18 Oct 2014 14:02:02 -0700
New York Jets WR Percy Harvin was involved in a fight with former teammate, Detroit Lions WR Golden Tate, last year during the week of the Super Bowl. Harvin also was involved in an altercation with Seattle Seahawks WR Doug Baldwin during the final week of the preseason.
Fri, 17 Oct 2014 17:12:41 -0700
New York Jets WR Percy Harvin is onto his third NFL team, and he looks for more success than with the Seattle Seahawks. In Minnesota, he averaged 7.3 targets per game with 61.2 receiving yards per game and 34.2 yards per game after the catch (YAC). He ranked sixth in YAC. In Seattle, he managed just 4.5 targets per game, with only 25.0 receiving yards per game, 17.0 yards per catch and he ranked 99th in the league in YAC.
Fantasy Tip: The receiver-starved Jets will likely try to use him early and often, but he has to learn a new playbook. Plus, his owners lose him this week, because the Jets already played, and then Harvin will have another bye in Week 11. He has a downgrade at the quarterback position and moves to a cold-weather city. Fantasy owners will clearly not be happy with the move.
Fri, 17 Oct 2014 16:57:06 -0700
The New York Jets will pay WR Percy Harvin $7.1 million for the rest of the 2014 season, the last of the guaranteed money in a deal which runs through 2018. Harvin's salary for 2015 is $10.5 million.

Fri, 17 Oct 2014 15:23:42 -0700
New York Jets WR Percy Harvin was traded by the Seattle Seahawks in part because he had anger issues while with the Seahawks.
Fantasy Tip: Harvin's move to the Jets probable will not have much of an impact on his fantasy value. Owners could consider using Harvin against the Buffalo Bills next week, but he will be a risky play. Owners could also consider holding off on starting him until they see how he is used in the Jets' offense.
Fri, 17 Oct 2014 14:43:43 -0700
The New York Jets acquired WR Percy Harvin from the Seattle Seahawks Friday, Oct. 17, for a conditional draft pick.
Fantasy Tip: Maybe the change in scenery will be good for Harvin, who has been frustrating fantasy owners in the early part of the year. The Jets may need to get creative in how they use Harvin, and it may take some time for him to get up to speed on the new offense. His FantasyScore price has been pretty reasonable, so there is profit potential if he becomes heavily involved in the Jets offense. In Seattle, this could boost the value of Doug Baldwin, and Ricardo Lockette and Jermaine Kearse could see increased work.
Fri, 17 Oct 2014 13:45:27 -0700
Seattle Seahawks WR Percy Harvin (thigh) was limited during practice Friday, Oct. 17, and is listed as questionable for Week 7.
Fantasy Tip: Owners will need to watch for any updates over the weekend on his status and check the inactive list to see if he is playing. Harvin has a price of $6,500 on FantasyScore, but owners may want to consider using a healthier option at the position.
Fri, 17 Oct 2014 09:33:27 -0700
Seattle Seahawks WR Percy Harvin has a great ability to turn short plays into big gains, and his speed makes him a home run threat every time he touches the ball, which is why the team plans to utilize him downfield more often. However, the deep ball never has been part of Harvin's repertoire in the NFL; he's mainly been used as a quick-hit receiver and non-traditional running back. He's caught half of his 22 catches behind the line of scrimmage this year, and he's averaging just six yards per catch, the lowest of any receiver with at least five catches. Of the 434 passes intended for Harvin in his career, only 36 have gone for more than 21 yards, according to STATS Inc. Seattle also likes to use Harvin as a decoy to create mismatches elsewhere on the field.
Fantasy Tip: Opponents are sending a lot of attention Harvin's way when he receives the ball near the line of scrimmage. That's how Dallas was effective at stopping him last week. Until the Seahawks effectively get the ball to him deeper down the field, it may be tough for him to put up big fantasy numbers. Consider Harvin ($6,500; 13.0% of cap) a flex option against the St. Louis Rams.
Thu, 16 Oct 2014 18:34:59 -0700
Seattle Seahawks WR Percy Harvin (thigh) did not practice Thursday, Oct. 16, but he did not mention an injury when he spoke with reporters in the locker room.
Fantasy Tip: It doesn’t sound like Harvin is in danger of missing the team's Week 7 game at this point, but he has been kept in check most of the season. He always has big-play potential, but he is a high-risk, high-reward play at FantasyScore at this point.
Wed, 15 Oct 2014 18:39:10 -0700
Seattle Seahawks WR Percy Harvin (non-injury related) and RB Marshawn Lynch (non-injury related) were rested during practice Wednesday, Oct. 15.
Fantasy Tip: Lynch has been getting off mid-week practices for a while, and neither he nor Harvin are dealing with an injury. The team is just trying to preserve them for the upcoming weekend by giving them off Wednesday to recharge.
Mon, 13 Oct 2014 09:07:12 -0700
Seattle Seahawks WR Percy Harvin had three catches for a total of negative-one yard in the team's Week 6 loss to the Dallas Cowboys. The Cowboys were ready to snuff out anything that was thrown to Harvin near the line of scrimmage, and the Seahawks didn't target Harvin downfield at all. Opposing teams are starting to wise up to what Seattle is trying to do offensively with Harvin near the line of scrimmage. Defenders are starting to crowd him at the line of scrimmage every time he touches the ball.
Fantasy Tip: Harvin has been hurting his fantasy owners. It may be wise to avoid him in your daily lineups until Seattle can get creative and figure out other ways to get him involved in the offense down the field.
Fri, 10 Oct 2014 14:48:26 -0700
Seattle Seahawks WR Percy Harvin (thigh) practiced in full Friday, Oct. 10, and is probable for Week 6 against the Dallas Cowboys.
Fantasy Tip: Harvin should be fine against the Cowboys this weekend. He'll cost you a cool $6,500 (13.0% of cap) in Week 6.
Thu, 09 Oct 2014 16:54:42 -0700
Seattle Seahawks WR Percy Harvin (thigh) did not practice Thursday, Oct. 9, after being a full participant in practice Wednesday, Oct. 8. It would be a surprise if Harvin doesn't play in Week 6 against the Dallas Cowboys. He played the entire game in Week 5 despite being a little banged up.
Fantasy Tip: Harvin was robbed of a big week by several penalties that brought back touchdowns on Monday night. Against the Dallas Cowboys, Harvin could break through, and you can own him for $6,500 (13.0% of cap) at FantasyScore.
Mon, 06 Oct 2014 21:02:26 -0700
Seattle Seahawks WR Percy Harvin had three touchdowns called back because of penalties Monday, Oct. 6. He finished the game with four catches for 27 yards and two carries for seven yards.
Fantasy Tip: Harvin had a rushing touchdown called back and two receiving scores so his quiet night could have easily been a big one. Seattle continues to make sure he touches the ball in a variety of ways, and he remains a viable option at FantasyScore just about every week.
Fri, 05 Sep 2014 09:44:37 -0700
Seattle Seahawks WR Percy Harvin caught seven passes for 59 yards and also carried the ball four times for 41 rushing yards, and he returned three kickoffs for a total of 60 yards. "They can't stop him," said LB Bobby Wagner. "They can't tackle him. He's too fast to catch him. He's just a great player when he's healthy." Harvin played in just one regular season game last year after having hip surgery.
Fantasy Tip: Harvin is completely healthy for the first time in a while, and it really showed last night against the Green Bay Packers. If he can stay on the field, he can easily be a WR1 for fantasy football teams.
Mon, 25 Aug 2014 20:51:15 -0700
Seattle Seahawks WR Percy Harvin said he feels as well as he has since his college days. "I definitely feel a lot better," Harvin said. "I've got a lot more motion than I'm used to having. I can do a lot more cuts and just a lot of different motions that I wasn't able to do before."
Fantasy Tip: Injuries have been an issue for Harvin, but when healthy, he can produce big plays whenever he touches the ball. Harvin has WR2 upside, especially in PPR formats, but make sure you have depth at the position in case he goes down again.
Tue, 12 Aug 2014 12:22:25 -0700
Updating a previous report, Seattle Seahawks WR Percy Harvin was stepped on during practice Tuesday, Aug. 12, but is fine, according to head coach Pete Carroll.

Sat, 26 Jul 2014 15:20:25 -0700

Seattle Seahawks head coach Pete Carroll said FS Earl Thomas is the leading candidate to fill the punt return role this upcoming season. WR Percy Harvin, WR Doug Baldwin and CB Richard Sherman are also candidates for the role.
Thu, 12 Jun 2014 18:11:27 -0700
Seattle Seahawks WR Percy Harvin is happy to be taking part in voluntary workouts after missing most of last season recovering from hip surgery. Being able to take part in offseason activities is allowing Harvin to become fully integrated in the team's offense.
Fantasy Tip: Harvin was signed to be the main weapon in Seattle's passing attack, and now that he is healthy and getting a chance to develop some chemistry with Russell Wilson, you can expect the Seahawks to get the ball in his hands a lot this year.
Tue, 03 Jun 2014 16:51:09 -0700
Seattle Seahawks QB Russell Wilson is impressed with the speed of the team's receiving corps, especially thanks to the addition of WR Paul Richardson, who the team drafted this year. "Yeah, our receivers right now are as fast as it gets. You've got Percy Harvin, Doug Baldwin, Jermaine Kearse is extremely fast too. Then you add Paul Richardson who you saw today went for that deep, deep ball that I threw to him. He's looking exceptional as well. So I think our receiver group is probably one of the faster in the league right now, based on who we have."
Fantasy Tip: Don't be fooled now that Seattle has more wideout depth in 2014; the Seahawks remain a run-first squad. Richardson will have to battle for playing time behind Percy Harvin and Doug Baldwin, and he probably won't have a significant enough role to be worth a draft pick this fall.
Tue, 27 May 2014 16:09:43 -0700
Seattle Seahawks head coach Pete Carroll said FS Earl Thomas would handle the punt-return duties if the season started Tuesday, May 27. WR Percy Harvin, CB Richard Sherman and LB Bryan Walters are other options for the duties.
