Atlanta Falcons head coach Mike Smith said DL Jonathan Babineaux (knee) will start once he returns from injury. Smith added DL Peria Jerry, who has started in Babineaux's place, will continue to see plenty of snaps. "It'll be good to get Jonathan back, of course, but Peria has done a real good job. He'll continue to be a guy that will get lots of snaps in our rotation."

Atlanta Falcons DL Peria Jerry (knee) is still not fully recovered from a knee injury which caused him to miss most of the 2009 season, reports D. Orlando Ledbetter, of The Atlanta Journal-Constitution. Jerry plays a limited role, seeing time only on third downs. "He's still not quite there as far as the injury goes," defensive line coach Ray Hamilton said. "But he is getting better. He's gotten better over the last couple of weeks."

Atlanta Falcons DL Peria Jerry (knee) will play in the team's preseason game Friday, Aug. 27, reports Jeff Haws, of The Atlanta Journal-Constitution. Jerry has not played in nearly a year, when he suffered a season-ending knee injury in the second game of the 2009 season. Jerry said, "I'm very excited to get this opportunity to go out there and play. I'm just going to go out and try to do my job. We'll see how everything goes from there." Head coach Mike Smith said he isn't quite ready to throw Jerry into too high a level of work right from the start, but Jerry will start the team's game.
