Lions | Brandon Pettigrew probably won't play

Tue, 22 Nov 2016 16:31:37 -0800

Detroit Lions TE Brandon Pettigrew (knee) is not expected to be activated for Week 12, in the opinion of Justin Rogers of The Detroit News. Pettigrew practiced Tuesday, Nov. 22, for the first time in 11 months.

Fantasy Tip: Eric Ebron should continue to start at tight end even when Pettigrew does return. He's a worthwhile start this week against the Minnesota Vikings, who have struggled defensively against the position so far this year.

Lions | Brandon Pettigrew back at practice

Tue, 22 Nov 2016 09:37:43 -0800

Detroit Lions TE Brandon Pettigrew (knee) practiced for the first time Tuesday, Nov. 22, beginning his 21-day clock toward activation off the Physically Unable to Perform list.

Fantasy Tip: With Eric Ebron finally looking like a keeper and Anquan Boldin stealing most of the targets in the short passing game, Pettigrew will almost certainly be asked to block most of the time even if he can return. He is well off the fantasy radar.

Lions | Brandon Pettigrew to return this week?

Tue, 15 Nov 2016 14:46:52 -0800

Detroit Lions TE Brandon Pettigrew (knee) is expected to return to practice from the Physically Unable to Perform list this week, in the opinion of Dave Birkett of the Detroit Free Press.

Fantasy Tip: Pettigrew will likely be eased in once he is ready to play again. He shouldn't be a big threat to Eric Ebron, at least not right away. Pettigrew will only be worth a pickup if Ebron is injured.

Lions | Brandon Pettigrew plans to be ready

Tue, 10 May 2016 20:48:07 -0700

Detroit Lions TE Brandon Pettigrew (knee) said Tuesday, May 10, that he plans to be ready for the start of training camp. He is making his way back from a torn anterior cruciate ligament in his left knee suffered back in December.

Fantasy Tip: Pettigrew would help with pass blocking, giving Matthew Stafford more protection with Eric Ebron as the pass-catching tight end. Pettigrew's return might be more important to the fantasy appeal of Stafford and the running backs more so than his own fantasy appeal.
