Ravens | Jeremy Maclin the go-to option?

Thu, 06 Jul 2017 20:12:28 -0700

Baltimore Ravens WR Jeremy Maclin has averaged 67 catches, 913 receiving yards and six touchdowns over his seven NFL seasons, and since 2010, only one Baltimore receiver has reached all those marks in a single season.

Fantasy Tip: Maclin is expected to work out of the slot, and it wouldn't be a surprise to see him become Joe Flacco's favorite target. He is worth a look as a WR3.

Ravens | Jeremy Maclin had a torn groin

Wed, 21 Jun 2017 06:23:15 -0700

Baltimore Ravens WR Jeremy Maclin (groin) said that he played through a torn groin muscle last season.

Fantasy Tip: Maclin slumped to a 44-536-2 clip last season, and he did miss four games due to injury. He's 29 now and could still have some productivity left as a WR3 in fantasy.

Ravens | Jeremy Maclin will play in the slot

Thu, 15 Jun 2017 10:58:17 -0700

Baltimore Ravens WR Jeremy Maclin is expected to assume the slot receiver position with WRs Mike Wallace and Breshad Perriman lining up on the outside.

Fantasy Tip: Maclin fills one of the voids left behind by Steve Smith, Kamar Aiken and Dennis Pitta, among others. He will be able to make an immediate impact as the Ravens' starting slot receiver and could turn into Joe Flacco's safety blanket. That being said, drafting Maclin as a WR3 or higher would be a reach.

Ravens | Jeremy Maclin terms

Tue, 13 Jun 2017 06:44:12 -0700

Updating previous reports, free-agent WR Jeremy Maclin (Chiefs) signed a two-year, $11 million deal with the Baltimore Ravens that includes $6 million in the first year.

Fantasy Tip: Maclin could emerge as the team's best receiver relatively quickly, but he shouldn't be used as more than a WR3 in fantasy.

Ravens | Jeremy Maclin chooses Ravens

Mon, 12 Jun 2017 12:47:51 -0700

Free-agent WR Jeremy Maclin (Chiefs) signed a two-year deal with the Baltimore Ravens Monday, June 12. Financial terms were not disclosed.

Fantasy Tip: Maclin will be a great help to Baltimore's offense, an offense that lost Steve Smith, Kamar Aiken and Dennis Pitta this offseason, among others. He will play alongside Mike Wallace and Breshad Perriman and could see some time in the slot. As for fantasy purposes, he cannot be trusted as more than a WR3.

Jets | Eric Decker may stick around a bit longer

Sat, 10 Jun 2017 15:40:19 -0700

New York Jets WR Eric Decker may stay with the Jets a little bit longer. He was originally scheduled to be released or traded early in the week, but speculation is the team is waiting to see where WR Jeremy Maclin ends up before making any moves.

Fantasy Tip: Don't plan on him to be a Jet much longer, but his fantasy value will depend on the eventual trade destination.

Ravens | Jeremy Maclin taking his time

Thu, 08 Jun 2017 12:14:52 -0700

Free-agent WR Jeremy Maclin (Chiefs) left his visit with the Baltimore Ravens without a contract Thursday, June 8. Head coach John Harbaugh said Maclin wants some time to make a decision.

Fantasy Tip: Maclin would make for a nice fit in Baltimore alongside Mike Wallace and Breshad Perriman. That said, he has lost a significant amount of fantasy value after an off year in Kansas City. There is a chance for a rebound, but drafting him as more than a flex is ill advised.

Ravens | Baltimore will meet with Jeremy Maclin

Wed, 07 Jun 2017 11:14:09 -0700

Free-agent WR Jeremy Maclin (Chiefs) is scheduled to meet with the Baltimore Ravens after finishing his meeting with the Buffalo Bills, according to a source.

Fantasy Tip: Maclin would probably be at least the No. 3 receiver if he signs with the Ravens and could compete for a starting job. Maclin probably can be seen as a No. 3 fantasy receiver no matter where he signs.

Bills | Jeremy Maclin leaving Bills visit

Wed, 07 Jun 2017 11:13:26 -0700

Free-agent WR Jeremy Maclin (Chiefs) has finished his visit with the Buffalo Bills Wednesday, June 7, and is scheduled to meet with the Baltimore Ravens next, according to a source.

Fantasy Tip: Maclin could still sign with the Bills but probably wants to meet with other teams before making a decision. He probably would be the leading candidate for the No. 2 receiver job if he signs with the Bills. Maclin should be a top three receiver no matter where he signs this offseason and can be a No. 3 receiver for fantasy owners.

Bills | Jeremy Maclin still in Buffalo

Wed, 07 Jun 2017 09:08:24 -0700

Free-agent WR Jeremy Maclin (Chiefs) remains on a visit with the Buffalo Bills Wednesday, June 7.

Fantasy Tip: The longer the visit the better. The Bills can use Maclin as a No. 2 wide receiver in between Sammy Watkins and rookie Zay Jones. Even in a good fit, however, he's in the WR4 conversation at 29 years old and after missing four games last year with a groin injury.

Browns | Jeremy Maclin of interest to Browns

Tue, 06 Jun 2017 13:38:09 -0700

Free-agent WR Jeremy Maclin (Chiefs) has drawn interest from the Cleveland Browns, according to a source.

Fantasy Tip: Maclin is suddenly a hot commodity after being released by the Chiefs late last week. He may be over the hill in football years, but he can still serve at least as a quality possession receiver. Wherever he lands, he should not be viewed as more than a low-end WR3 or flex.

Ravens | Jeremy Maclin to visit Ravens

Tue, 06 Jun 2017 06:27:09 -0700

Free-agent WR Jeremy Maclin (Chiefs) has plans to visit the Baltimore Ravens Wednesday, June 7.

Fantasy Tip: Maclin would be a nice fit in Baltimore, but at 29, and on the heels of last season's drop-off, he's a WR4 in fantasy.

Bills | Jeremy Maclin to visit Bills

Tue, 06 Jun 2017 06:26:17 -0700

Free-agent WR Jeremy Maclin (Chiefs) will visit the Buffalo Bills Tuesday, June 6.

Fantasy Tip: Maclin never emerged as a legit WR1, but he can make a serviceable second receiver in the NFL. For fantasy purposes, he's worth a look as a WR4, which could be upgraded to WR3 in the right system.

Bills | Jeremy Maclin talking with Buffalo

Sun, 04 Jun 2017 17:15:15 -0700

Free-agent WR Jeremy Maclin (Chiefs) is in "preliminary talks" with the Buffalo Bills, according to a source.

Fantasy Tip: Buffalo isn't exactly a fantasy gold mine for receivers, but with Sammy Watkins' injury history and no proven No. 2 option, Maclin would be worth grabbing as a WR4 if he lands with the Bills.

Bills | LeSean McCoy 'recruiting' Jeremy Maclin

Sun, 04 Jun 2017 12:57:09 -0700

Free-agent WR Jeremy Maclin (Chiefs) has been getting "recruited" by Buffalo Bills RB LeSean McCoy - a former teammate with the Philadelphia Eagles - to sign with the Bills.

Fantasy Tip: Buffalo is hurting at the moment with Sammy Watkins' proneness to injury and the knee injury second-round pick Zay Jones suffered in OTAs. The landing spot wouldn't be great initially for a number of reasons and he'd likely be a WR4 at best in fantasy as a result, but Watkins' contract is up after the year and Jones may be able to benefit from Maclin's experience.

Chiefs | Alex Smith talks Jeremy Maclin

Sat, 03 Jun 2017 18:40:33 -0700

Kansas City Chiefs QB Alex Smith said he was expecting free-agent WR Jeremy Maclin (Chiefs) to be his No. 1 receiver again this season and was "shocked" by Maclin's release. "For us, we have to move on a roll as a group," Smith said. "We obviously wish Jeremy well wherever he lands, and he'll land on his feet."

Fantasy Tip: Smith is a game manager for the Kansas City offense, and losing Maclin doesn't change his value. He remains strictly a fantasy backup.

Lions | Detroit could consider Jeremy Maclin

Sat, 03 Jun 2017 11:34:45 -0700

Free-agent WR Jeremy Maclin (Chiefs) could be an intriguing option for the Detroit Lions if the price is reasonable, in the opinion of MLive.com's Nate Atkins.

Fantasy Tip: Maclin should receive interest from multiple teams but would likely serve as the No. 3 receiver if he decided to sign with the Lions. Maclin had a down year in 2016 because he was dealing with injury but has been a solid receiver during his career. He has a chance to be a No. 3 fantasy receiver no matter where he signs.

Ravens | Baltimore could be Jeremy Maclin suitor

Sat, 03 Jun 2017 09:50:51 -0700

Free-agent WR Jeremy Maclin (Chiefs) could be a target for the Baltimore Ravens, according to ESPN's Jamison Hensley, who believes Baltimore would be the "perfect landing spot" for the 29-year-old receiver.

Fantasy Tip: Current Ravens offensive coordinator Marty Mornhinweg was Maclin's coordinator in Philadelphia for his first four seasons from 2009-12, and Baltimore could use the receiving help after losing sure-handed Dennis Pitta yesterday. With only Mike Wallace and Breshad Perriman to battle, the Ravens may be one of the few teams able to give Maclin the No. 1 job and a chance to compete for a title. If he does become a Raven, he would likely maintain WR3 value in fantasy.

Chiefs | Chris Conley's role increasing?

Fri, 02 Jun 2017 19:19:51 -0700

Kansas City Chiefs WR Chris Conley and WR Tyreek Hill should become Kansas City's top two receivers in 2017 following the release of WR Jeremy Maclin, according to beat writer Terez A. Paylor.

Fantasy Tip: Hill was already in the WR3 conversation because of his big-play ability, but Conley is now worth a look in the later rounds.

Chiefs | Jeremy Maclin released

Fri, 02 Jun 2017 16:45:25 -0700

Kansas City Chiefs WR Jeremy Maclin was released Friday, June 2.

Fantasy Tip: Maclin had a down year in 2016 with 536 receiving yards and two touchdowns but should easily be able to find another team. Maclin could be a No. 3 or No. 4 receiver depending on his team and his role. The Chiefs may go with Chris Conley and Tyreek Hill as their starting receivers for 2017. Hill was a playmaker during his rookie season and can be a No. 3 receiver in some leagues while Conley could be a late-round option in fantasy drafts.

Chiefs | Jeremy Maclin finishes with nine yards

Sun, 25 Dec 2016 21:15:36 -0800

Kansas City Chiefs WR Jeremy Maclin finished with nine yards on three catches in a 33-10 win over the Denver Broncos Sunday, Dec. 25.

Fantasy Tip: The Chiefs avoided Denver's stout corners by targeting Travis Kelce early and often, leaving Maclin and the rest of the receivers with little action. Expect better numbers from Maclin against San Diego in Week 17, and he could be make a solid flex play in deeper leagues.

Sun, 25 Dec 2016 19:14:17 -0800

Kansas City Chiefs WR Jeremy Maclin said he feels he is finally back in top form after dealing with "some stuff" on and off the field this season.

Fantasy Tip: Maclin had is most productive game of the season in Week 15, don't expect him to be more than a WR3 in the final weeks of the season.

Chiefs | Jeremy Maclin posts six receptions

Sun, 18 Dec 2016 19:59:46 -0800

Kansas City Chiefs WR Jeremy Maclin posted six receptions for a team-high 82 yards on eight targets in the Week 15 game against the Tennessee Titans.

Fantasy Tip: Maclin's yardage total was a season best. Still, he has just one touchdown over the past nine games dating back to Week 1 and he should be treated more as a WR3 heading into Week 16 in most fantasy leagues.

Chiefs | Quiet return for Jeremy Maclin

Thu, 08 Dec 2016 21:49:55 -0800

Kansas City Chiefs WR Jeremy Maclin (groin) returned from a three-game absence and had one catch on three targets for 16 yards in a 21-13 win over the Oakland Raiders Thursday, Dec. 8.

Fantasy Tip: Maclin's numbers should improve, but he wasn't having a great year before the injury, and the emergence of Tyreek Hill will cap his upside. You can hang on to Maclin, but he should be viewed as a WR4 for the time being.

Chiefs | Jeremy Maclin ready to play

Wed, 07 Dec 2016 15:45:47 -0800

Kansas City Chiefs WR Jeremy Maclin (groin) fully participated in practice Wednesday, Dec. 7, and is not on the injury report for Week 14.

Fantasy Tip: Maclin has missed nearly a month because of the injury but should have a solid role in the passing game against the Oakland Raiders. He has not posted great numbers this season but can be a No. 3 receiver or a flex option in most leagues.

Chiefs | Jeremy Maclin has full practice

Tue, 06 Dec 2016 15:25:43 -0800

Kansas City Chiefs WR Jeremy Maclin (groin) was a full participant in practice Tuesday, Dec. 6, and is expected to play Thursday, Dec. 8, against the Oakland Raiders.

Fantasy Tip: Maclin will be seeing his first action in a couple weeks, so he's still a risky play even in a decent matchup. With Maclin's return comes a likely decline in targets for both Travis Kelce and Tyreek Hill, but Kelce is still in TE1 territory while Hill is still a flex option.

Chiefs | Jeremy Maclin in line to return

Tue, 06 Dec 2016 07:55:41 -0800

Kansas City Chiefs WR Jeremy Maclin (groin) is expected to practice Tuesday, Dec. 6, and he's in line to return to action Thursday, Dec. 8, against the Oakland Raiders.

Fantasy Tip: Oakland is a midrange matchup, but Maclin has been out for a month. He posted three catches for 49 yards against the Raiders earlier this season, and he'd be a ho-hum flex option.

Chiefs | Jeremy Maclin limited

Mon, 05 Dec 2016 17:22:22 -0800

Kansas City Chiefs WR Jeremy Maclin (groin) was limited in practice Monday, Dec. 5.

Fantasy Tip: Maclin was limited in practice all last week too and ended up not playing. He has missed the last two games with his groin ailment and has to be ready by Thursday night. Be prepared for a backup plan again. Tyreek Hill would once again be the primary beneficiary.

Chiefs | Jeremy Maclin uncertain for Thursday

Mon, 05 Dec 2016 11:00:20 -0800

Kansas City Chiefs WR Jeremy Maclin (groin) continues to make improvement from his groin injury, but head coach Andy Reid suggested he didn't know if Maclin would be able to play Thursday, Dec. 8, in a Week 14 game against the Oakland Raiders.

Fantasy Tip: Unless he gets a practice in on Tuesday, it seems highly unlikely Maclin would be able to go on a short week, especially considering he hasn't played since Week 9. Tyreek Hill and Travis Kelce will continue to see the lion's share of the targets in his absence and both should trusted to start during this week in the fantasy playoffs in such a scenario.

Chiefs | Jeremy Maclin downgraded to out

Sat, 03 Dec 2016 10:06:44 -0800

Kansas City Chiefs WR Jeremy Maclin (groin) was downgraded from questionable to out Saturday, Dec. 3.

Fantasy Tip: That is good news for owners of Tyreek Hill against Atlanta. He is a sound WR2 in PPR and a No. 3 or flex in standard scoring.

Chiefs | Jeremy Maclin listed as questionable

Fri, 02 Dec 2016 12:47:42 -0800

Kansas City Chiefs WR Jeremy Maclin (groin) was limited all week in practice and is questionable for Week 13 against the Atlanta Falcons.

Fantasy Tip: Maclin has been sidelined since Week 9 and this week marked his first practices since the injury, so it is a good bet he will be on a snap count in this game if he plays. Tyreek Hill should have at least one more week as the Chiefs' top option at receiver and faces a secondary that lost top corner Desmond Trufant for the season earlier this week. Hill is a solid WR3 this week with WR2 upside.

Chiefs | Jeremy Maclin logs limited practice

Thu, 01 Dec 2016 17:14:57 -0800

Kansas City Chiefs WR Jeremy Maclin (groin) remained a limited participant in practice Thursday, Dec. 1.

Fantasy Tip: Maclin appears on track to return in Week 13 after missing a couple of games. He has underwhelmed even when healthy, but with a potential shootout with Atlanta on tap, Maclin could be worth a look as a flex option.

Chiefs | Limited practice for Jeremy Maclin

Wed, 30 Nov 2016 15:40:11 -0800

Kansas City Chiefs WR Jeremy Maclin (groin) was limited in practice Wednesday, Nov. 30.

Fantasy Tip: Maclin has missed the last two weeks with this groin ailment, so he may not be fully out of the woods yet. If he's ready to return he'll return to a great matchup in what could be a shootout with the Atlanta Falcons. Use caution, though, Maclin could be eased back into things.

Chiefs | Jeremy Maclin will not play Week 12

Fri, 25 Nov 2016 12:52:37 -0800

Updating a previous story, Kansas City Chiefs WR Jeremy Maclin (groin) has been ruled out for Week 12 versus the Denver Broncos.

Fantasy Tip: Maclin will miss his third consecutive game, although he was doing a whole lot for his owners prior to going down. Tyreek Hill, Chris Conley and Albert Wilson will all see significant snaps as a result, but none are worth using against Denver's stout secondary. Spencer Ware and Travis Kelce are the only Chiefs worth considering in fantasy for this Sunday night affair.

Chiefs | Jeremy Maclin still not practicing

Fri, 25 Nov 2016 12:27:52 -0800

Kansas City Chiefs WR Jeremy Maclin (groin) did not practice Friday, Nov. 25, and appears likely to miss his third consecutive game in Week 12 against the Denver Broncos.

Fantasy Tip: Maclin obviously hasn't made much progress since aggravating a groin injury in Week 9 and should be considered week-to-week at this point. Tyreek Hill, Chris Conley and Albert Wilson will continue to get the bulk of the reps at receiver, not that it matters this week against the Broncos' vaunted secondary; none of the three are worth starting in fantasy. Spencer Ware and Travis Kelce will need to have big games if Kansas City hopes to muster any offense Sunday night.

Chiefs | Jeremy Maclin sidelined

Wed, 23 Nov 2016 15:06:19 -0800

Kansas City Chiefs WR Jeremy Maclin (groin) did not practice Wednesday, Nov. 23.

Fantasy Tip: Come this weekend, Maclin will not have played in nearly a month, if he does play this weekend. And if he is active, he'll be up against arguably the best secondary in the NFL. If Maclin is active then he'll probably be best suited as a flex option.

Chiefs | Jeremy Maclin ruled out

Fri, 18 Nov 2016 17:09:26 -0800

Updating a previous report, Kansas City Chiefs WR Jeremy Maclin (groin) has been ruled out for Week 11.

Fantasy Tip: Tyreek Hill should have a bigger role in the passing game with Maclin out of the lineup. He has recorded at least 89 yards in two of the last three games and has two touchdowns in his last four games. He can be considered a No. 3 receiver or a flex option in leagues.

Chiefs | Jeremy Maclin misses another practice

Fri, 18 Nov 2016 10:36:13 -0800

Kansas City Chiefs WR Jeremy Maclin (groin) did not participate in practice Friday, Nov. 18.

Fantasy Tip: Maclin did not practice at all this week, making it a virtual certainty he will sit out a second straight game. Tyreek Hill finished with 10 catches on 13 targets in his absence last week, so he is the clear favorite to benefit the most statistically from Maclin's absence, especially against a poor Tampa Bay Bucs' secondary. Hill should be considered a WR3 with upside in all formats in Week 11.

Chiefs | Jeremy Maclin to miss another practice

Thu, 17 Nov 2016 10:27:36 -0800

Kansas City Chiefs WR Jeremy Maclin (groin) will not participate in practice Thursday, Nov. 17.

Fantasy Tip: Maclin was not able to play in Week 10 and probably will miss another game if he is not able to practice Friday, Nov. 18. Owners in all leagues should look for other options to use in their lineups. Tyreek Hill has had a big role in the passing game over the last few weeks with Maclin sidelined and can be a solid option for owners.

Wed, 16 Nov 2016 09:55:02 -0800

Kansas City Chiefs WR Jeremy Maclin (groin) is out of practice Wednesday, Nov. 16.

Chiefs | Jeremy Maclin to sit Week 10

Fri, 11 Nov 2016 13:22:54 -0800

Kansas City Chiefs WR Jeremy Maclin (groin) has been ruled out for Week 10 against the Carolina Panthers.

Fantasy Tip: Maclin has been a disappointment in fantasy this season, although Alex Smith likely deserves as much blame as he does for that. Travis Kelce should be a target hog in Week 10, while Tyreek Hill should receiver a bump in targets as well. Hill is worth a look in deeper leagues as Kansas City is drawing up ways to get the ball in his hands on a weekly basis.

Chiefs | Jeremy Maclin to sit again

Thu, 10 Nov 2016 10:02:20 -0800

Kansas City Chiefs WR Jeremy Maclin (groin) will not participate in practice Thursday, Nov. 10.

Fantasy Tip: It is looking like Maclin will not be able to play this week, but owners will need to look for an update on his status later in the week. Maclin should be avoided in all leagues, but Albert Wilson could be a flex option in deeper leagues since he would see more targets if Maclin sits.
