Chiefs | Jeremy Maclin misses practice Thursday

Thu, 15 Sep 2016 15:14:59 -0700

Kansas City Chiefs WR Jeremy Maclin (personal) did not practice Thursday, Sept. 15, for personal reasons.

Fantasy Tip: Details were not disclosed, but Maclin doesn't seem to be ailing physically. He's good to go for Sunday and should be started as a No. 2 wide receiver against a Houston Texans defense that allowed 196 yards to receivers last week -- eighth most in the league.

Chiefs | Jeremy Maclin checked for concussion

Sun, 11 Sep 2016 14:31:01 -0700

Kansas City Chiefs WR Jeremy Maclin (head) will be evaluated for a concussion after taking a hit in the fourth quarter of the team's Week 1 game.

Fantasy Tip: Owners will need to monitor the situation over the next day or two because Maclin could be questionable for Week 2 if he is dealing with a concussion. He posted 63 receiving yards and one touchdown in Week 1 and is a weekly starting option when he is healthy.

Chiefs | Jeremy Maclin sits out Wednesday

Wed, 17 Aug 2016 12:55:59 -0700

Kansas City Chiefs WR Jeremy Maclin (groin) did not participate in practice Wednesday, Aug. 17, because of a groin injury.

Fantasy Tip: Owners should monitor the situation to see if Maclin will be able to return to practice in the near future. He recorded 1,088 yards and eight touchdowns in 2015 and should be the No. 1 receiver for the Chiefs again this season. Maclin probably will be a fine No. 2 wide receiver for most fantasy owners.

Chiefs | Young WRs working with Jeremy Maclin

Tue, 28 Jun 2016 23:05:44 -0700

Kansas City Chiefs WR Jeremy Maclin invited WR Chris Conley to work out with him at the team's training facility in the offseason. WR Albert Wilson joined them to lift weights, watch film and work on route concepts four days a week until the team's offseason workout program in mid-April. Conley and Wilson are the team's No. 2 and 3 receivers, and trying to hold off newcomers WR Rod Streater and WR Tyreek Hill.

Fantasy Tip: Conley and Wilson are ready to take a big step forward in 2016, and both are worth looks as middle- to late-round fliers in fantasy leagues of 12 or more teams. They could each serve as useful WR3/4 or flex options, and their work ethic is certainly encouraging.

Chiefs | KC receiver depth still unsettled

Wed, 22 Jun 2016 13:43:02 -0700

Kansas City Chiefs WRs Albert Wilson, Chris Conley, Rod Streater, De'Anthony Thomas and Tyreek Hill will all compete for playing time behind WR Jeremy Maclin. Head coach Andy Reid liked what he saw from Wilson and Conley during offseason workouts, though.

Fantasy Tip: Wilson and Conley probably have an inside edge with their experience and familiarity with the system. Maclin is really the only Chiefs receiver with any real fantasy value, but Wilson and Conley are worth a look as a WR5.

Chiefs | Jeremy Maclin suffers ankle injury

Thu, 26 May 2016 12:27:55 -0700

Kansas City Chiefs WR Jeremy Maclin (ankle) injured his ankle in practice Thursday, May 26, according to head coach Andy Reid. Reid said Maclin's injury is of no concern, though.

Fantasy Tip: Maclin should be fine. He had a career year in his first season with the Chiefs, catching a career-high 87 passes (124 targets) for 1,088 yards and eight touchdowns. He should remain a focal point in KC's offense yet again as their No. 1 receiver. Maclin is a low-end WR1 or high-end WR2.

Chiefs | KC appealing Jeremy Maclin penalties

Mon, 21 Mar 2016 13:51:54 -0700

The Kansas City Chiefs have officially filed their appeal against the NFL's tampering rule, according to chairman Clark Hunt. The Chiefs were stripped of two draft picks and were fined for allegedly violating the league's anti-tampering policy in last year's pursuit of WR Jeremy Maclin during free agency. The two draft picks the Chiefs have lost are this year's third-round pick and next year's sixth-round pick.

Fantasy Tip: Maclin was superb in his first season with the Chiefs, illegally tampering or not. He tallied 87 catches for 1,088 yards and eight touchdowns. He'll be Kansas City's top wide out again in 2016 and is in WR2 territory.

Kansas City Chiefs WR Jeremy Maclin (ankle) finished with two catches on three targets for 23 yards in a 27-20 loss to the New England Patriots in the divisional round of the playoffs Saturday, Jan. 16.

Fantasy Tip: Maclin played through a high-ankle sprain, but he wasn't effective. Overall, his first year in Kansas City was a solid one, and he should be considered a reliable WR2 heading into next season.

Chiefs | Jeremy Maclin active

Sat, 16 Jan 2016 12:11:23 -0800

Kansas City Chiefs WR Jeremy Maclin (ankle) is active Saturday, Jan. 16, against the New England Patriots, despite dealing with a high-ankle sprain.

Fantasy Tip: This is somewhat of a surprise as Maclin ($7,800, 15.6% of cap) was supposedly facing an uphill battle to play today. Just how involved he'll be remains to be seen, though, and he could end up playing a decoy role. Plug him into your FantasyScore lineups at your own risk.

Chiefs | Jeremy Maclin may not be able to play

Sat, 16 Jan 2016 07:00:50 -0800

Kansas City Chiefs WR Jeremy Maclin (ankle) would like to play in the divisional round playoff game against the New England Patriots Saturday, Jan. 16, but is facing an uphill battle at this point. Maclin has been resting his ankle this week but wants to see how it feels Saturday before making a decision.

Fantasy Tip: Owners will need to check the inactive list to see if Maclin ($7,800, 15.6% of cap) will be able to play but should have other options ready in case he is ruled out. Travis Kelce ($7,500, 15.0% of cap) could be the main target against the Patriots if Maclin misses the game and could be a decent fantasy option.

Chiefs | Jeremy Maclin questionable

Fri, 15 Jan 2016 08:55:34 -0800

Kansas City Chiefs WR Jeremy Maclin (ankle) is questionable for the divisional game against the New England Patriots Saturday, Jan. 16.

Fantasy Tip: With a high ankle sprain, it's a stretch to think he'll play or be anything more than limited. Chris Conley ($4,500, 9.0% of cap) is a midrange flyer worth consideration on FantasyScore.

Chiefs | Jeremy Maclin misses practice

Thu, 14 Jan 2016 14:20:44 -0800

Kansas City Chiefs WR Jeremy Maclin (ankle) did not practice Thursday, Jan. 14. He has already been ruled a game-time decision.

Fantasy Tip: Maclin ($7,800, 15.6% of cap) hasn't practiced yet this week, aside from some individual drills earlier today. If he isn't able to take the field then Chris Conley ($4,500, 9.0%) and Albert Wilson ($3,600, 7.2%) will receive an uptick in value, but neither is worth writing home about this week.

Chiefs | Jeremy Maclin will be game-time decision

Thu, 14 Jan 2016 14:13:32 -0800

Kansas City Chiefs WR Jeremy Maclin (ankle) will be a game-time decision in the divisional round against the New England Patriots Saturday, Jan. 16, according to head coach Andy Reid.

Fantasy Tip: Maclin ($7,800, 15.6% of cap) is much too risky to use in daily lineups, even if he's active. He would likely draw Malcolm Butler if he plays. Albert Wilson ($3,600, 7.2% of cap) is a sleeper worth considering, and Travis Kelce ($7,500, 15.0% of cap) is definitely worth paying up for.

Chiefs | Jeremy Maclin does individual work

Thu, 14 Jan 2016 11:15:14 -0800

Kansas City Chiefs WR Jeremy Maclin (ankle) did some individual work early in practice Thursday, Jan. 14, according to head coach Andy Reid.

Fantasy Tip: He still has a ways to go before we're convinced he's fit to go. Chris Conley ($4,500, 9.0% of cap) has some upside against the New England Patriots on FantasyScore if Maclin can't go.

Chiefs | Jeremy Maclin idle Wednesday

Wed, 13 Jan 2016 10:15:13 -0800

Kansas City Chiefs WR Jeremy Maclin (ankle) is out of practice Wednesday, Jan. 13.

Fantasy Tip: Maclin has a high ankle sprain, and he's probably on the wrong side of questionable. Chris Conley ($4,500, 9.0% of cap) could be worth the midrange flyer against the New England Patriots on FantasyScore.

Chiefs | Jeremy Maclin making progress

Tue, 12 Jan 2016 14:25:25 -0800

Kansas City Chiefs WR Jeremy Maclin (ankle) didn't practice Tuesday, Jan. 12, but "he's making good progress," according to head coach Andy Reid. Maclin was diagnosed with a "mild" high ankle sprain. Reid said he wouldn't have a problem with Maclin playing this weekend if he doesn't practice.

Fantasy Tip: Maclin will likely be questionable this week and is one to be avoided on FantasyScore against the New England Patriots, since he'll likely be hobbled if he does suit up. Look at Travis Kelce and Albert Wilson in daily formats, especially if Maclin is inactive.

Chiefs | Jeremy Maclin not practicing

Tue, 12 Jan 2016 10:39:47 -0800

Kansas City Chiefs WR Jeremy Maclin (ankle) had his right ankle wrapped and isn't practicing Tuesday, Jan. 12. However, he was moving around well for a player dealing with a high ankle sprain.

Fantasy Tip: Maclin is facing an uphill battle to be ready and effective in the divisional round against the New England Patriots. For that reason he's already extremely risky on FantasyScore. Check back later in the week for updates on Maclin's chances of playing. If he sits, both Travis Kelce and Albert Wilson will see their roles increase in the passing game.

Sun, 10 Jan 2016 11:23:43 -0800

Updating a previous report, Kansas City Chiefs WR Jeremy Maclin (knee) did not tear his anterior cruciate ligament, but he did suffer a high-ankle sprain, according to a source. His status for this weekend's divisional playoff matchup with the New England Patriots is still uncertain.

Fantasy Tip: The Chiefs can breathe a sigh of relief that Maclin's injury isn't as serious as originally feared. He could still miss Kansas City's playoff game, though, with the high-ankle sprain. His status will need to be monitored throughout the week.

Chiefs | Jeremy Maclin has pain in ankle

Sun, 10 Jan 2016 10:28:15 -0800

Kansas City Chiefs WR Jeremy Maclin (knee, ankle) is feeling more pain in his ankle than in his knee Sunday, Jan. 10, according to head coach Andy Reid. Reid said he has not received the results of Maclin's MRI at this point.

Fantasy Tip: Owners will need to look for an update over the next few days to see if Maclin has a chance to play against the New England Patriots. He will be a risky option for owners on FantasyScore if he is active, so owners may want to consider other options.

Sat, 09 Jan 2016 20:13:18 -0800

Kansas City Chiefs WR Jeremy Maclin (knee) suffered an injury to his anterior cruciate ligament Saturday, Jan. 9, but it is not definitive that it is a tear, according to a source.

Fantasy Tip: It still remains to be seen if Maclin tore his ACL again, but it isn't looking good for his chances to play in the divisional round next weekend.

Sat, 09 Jan 2016 16:57:49 -0800

Updating an earlier report, Kansas City Chiefs WR Jeremy Maclin (knee) will have an MRI Sunday, Jan. 10, and head coach Andy Reid said Maclin has a strained right knee.

Fantasy Tip: We'll know more after the MRI, but the feeling is that it may be more than a strain. Chris Conley could be a low-end flyer worth taking on FantasyScore in the divisional round.

Chiefs | Jeremy Maclin out with knee injury

Sat, 09 Jan 2016 15:46:28 -0800

Kansas City Chiefs WR Jeremy Maclin (knee) left the game with a right knee injury Saturday, Jan. 9. He was carted into the locker room for observation and has been ruled out for the remainder of the wild-card game.

Fantasy Tip: It's the same knee that Maclin tore the ACL in, and the fact he was ruled out so soon isn't a good sign. Chris Conley caught a touchdown pass shortly after, and he could be one to watch if the Chiefs advance.

Kansas City Chiefs WR Jeremy Maclin (hip) is listed as probable for the wild-card game against the Houston Texans Saturday, Jan. 9.

Chiefs | Jeremy Maclin full go

Thu, 07 Jan 2016 13:44:55 -0800

Kansas City Chiefs WR Jeremy Maclin (hip) was full go in practice Thursday, Jan. 7.

Fantasy Tip: Maclin ($7,400, 14.8% of cap) is on a hot streak in the scoring department; he's found the end zone six times in his last six games and once in each of his last three contests. The Houston Texans aren't the easiest matchup for wide receivers, but Maclin is still worth starting on FantasyScore this weekend.

Chiefs | Jeremy Maclin a limited participant

Wed, 06 Jan 2016 15:15:45 -0800

Kansas City Chiefs WR Jeremy Maclin (hip) was limited in practice Wednesday, Jan. 6.

Fantasy Tip: Maclin should be able to play this weekend, barring any setbacks. He has scored in each of his last three games and has found the end zone six times in his last six games. That momentum may be hard to maintain against an elite Houston Texans pass defense, however.

Chiefs | Jeremy Maclin returning to practice

Wed, 06 Jan 2016 11:11:00 -0800

Kansas City Chiefs WR Jeremy Maclin (hip) will return to practice Wednesday, Jan. 6, after sitting out Tuesday, Jan. 5. Maclin is easily the team's best receiver, and his eight touchdowns are three more than TE Travis Kelce and two more than any Chiefs running back. Maclin will be a full-go in the wild-card game against the Houston Texans Saturday, Jan. 9.

Fantasy Tip: A furious Houston pass rush has made it tough for opponents to consistently find success in the passing game against them, and they've been a tough fantasy matchup for receivers. Temper your expectations with Maclin ($7,400, 14.8% of cap) this weekend on FantasyScore.

Chiefs | Jeremy Maclin does not practice

Tue, 05 Jan 2016 19:15:04 -0800

Kansas City Chiefs WR Jeremy Maclin (hip) did not practice Tuesday, Jan. 5. He suffered a hip contusion in the Week 17 game against the Oakland Raiders, but said after the game that "there's no way" he would miss the AFC Wild-Card Game Saturday, Jan. 9, against the Houston Texans.

Fantasy Tip: While the Texans ranked third in the NFL allowing just 210.4 passing yards per game, they did yield 24 passing touchdowns, 48 pass plays of 20 or more yards and 12 pass plays of 40 or more yards. Maclin ($7,400, 14.8% of cap) is an attractive FantasyScore option if he is healthy.

Sun, 03 Jan 2016 15:40:04 -0800

Kansas City Chiefs WR Jeremy Maclin (hip) left the Week 17 game against the Oakland Raiders in the second half due to an apparent hip injury. He was walking with a limp and taken to the locker room for further evaluation.

Fantasy Tip: Maclin might have simply suffered a bruise or hip pointer, and that wouldn't cost him time into the playoffs. Still, it is an important injury to watch, especially if the Chiefs cannot secure a first-round bye and need to play next week.

Chiefs | Jeremy Maclin goes over 1,000 yards

Sun, 27 Dec 2015 17:17:26 -0800

Kansas City Chiefs WR Jeremy Maclin caught five passes for 49 yards and a touchdown in a 17-13 win over the Cleveland Browns in Week 16, becoming the fourth receiver to eclipse 1,000 yards under head coach Andy Reid.

Fantasy Tip: Maclin has had a solid season, and he currently sits at 84 catches, 1,034 yards and seven scores heading into the season finale. He is typically a solid WR2 at FantasyScore, but you canít help but wonder what his numbers would be if he played in a pass-friendly offense.

Sun, 13 Dec 2015 21:11:54 -0800

Kansas City Chiefs WR Jeremy Maclin had six receptions for 68 yards in the Week 14 win against the San Diego Chargers. He was targeted nine times.

Fantasy Tip: Maclin has six or more receptions in each of the past three weeks, but he took a backseat to Albert Wilson in this one. Still, Maclin is a solid fantasy option down the stretch, and he could have a big impact in Week 15 against an awful Baltimore defense.

Sun, 29 Nov 2015 15:07:54 -0800

Kansas City Chiefs WR Jeremy Maclin caught nine passes for 160 yards and one touchdown in the team's Week 12 game against the Buffalo Bills.

Kansas City Chiefs WR Jeremy Maclin (head) left the Week 11 game against the San Diego Chargers briefly due to a head injury. He was checked out and able to return, even returning to his duties as a punt returner.

Fantasy Tip: Maclin hasn't done much offensively, as it is defensive players leading the way for the Chiefs in their divisional game. Still, it's good news Maclin did not suffer concussion for fantasy owners moving forward.

Sun, 15 Nov 2015 22:41:01 -0800

Kansas City Chiefs WR Jeremy Maclin pulled down three receptions for 17 yards in the Week 10 game against the Denver Broncos. He was targeted six times.

Fantasy Tip: Maclin looked to be turning a corner mid-season after a slow start, but he is back to struggling. Avoid him in FantasyScore until he can start producing more consistently.

Chiefs | Four Chiefs listed as probable

Fri, 30 Oct 2015 15:29:35 -0700

Kansas City Chiefs TE Travis Kelce (groin), WR Jeremy Maclin (concussion), QB Alex Smith (thumb) and RB Charcandrick West (pectoral) all practiced in full Friday, Oct. 30, and are all listed as probable for Week 8 against the Detroit Lions in London.

Fantasy Tip: Smith ($5,600, 11.2% of cap) becomes a sleeper candidate on FantasyScore, and Maclin ($7,300, 14.6% of cap) could be stacked with him against a Detroit secondary that likes to give up a lot of big plays to their opponents through the air. That also makes Kelce ($6,900, 13.8% of cap) a pretty safe tight end pick. West ($4,600, 9.2% of cap) should see plenty of touches again in this one, and he has flex worthiness on FantasyScore.

Kansas City Chiefs TE Travis Kelce (groin), WR Jeremy Maclin (concussion), QB Alex Smith (thumb) and RB Charcandrick West (pectoral) practiced in full Thursday, Oct. 29.

Fantasy Tip: Kelce ($6,900, 13.8% of cap) is the safest Chiefs player on FantasyScore this weekend. Smith ($5,600, 11.2% of cap) and Maclin ($7,300, 14.6% of cap) are a worthy stack duo in daily games against a Detroit defense that is plenty vulnerable. West ($4,600, 9.2% of cap) is the primary back now for KC and has midrange flex worthiness.

Chiefs | Jeremy Maclin on track

Wed, 28 Oct 2015 14:47:00 -0700

Kansas City Chiefs WR Jeremy Maclin (concussion) is set for a full practice Wednesday, Oct. 28, which would put him on course to play in Week 8 against the Detroit Lions in London.

Fantasy Tip: The Lions allow the fourth-most PPR fantasy points to receivers per game with 41.7, which would put Maclin ($7,300, 14.6% of cap) in line to be a strong play on FantasyScore across the pond if he's healthy enough to suit up. The Chiefs could need to pass plenty in this one.

Fantasy Tip: Maclin ($7,600, 15.2% of cap) appeared to have a chance to play, but the team may want to keep out another week to make sure he is healthy. Travis Kelce ($7,000, 14.0% of cap) probably is the only Chiefs pass catcher that owners should consider this week.

Sun, 25 Oct 2015 07:11:24 -0700

Kansas City Chiefs WR Jeremy Maclin (concussion) is expected to play in the Week 7 game against the Pittsburgh Steelers even though he is listed as questionable.

Fantasy Tip: Maclin ($7,600, 15.2% of cap) has passed all of his concussion tests and should be one of the top options in the team's passing game. Maclin has a favorable matchup against the Steelers but does come with some risk because he is coming back from a concussion.

Kansas City Chiefs WR Jeremy Maclin (concussion) has passed his concussion tests, but the team will see how he feels this weekend before deciding on his status for the Week 7 game against the Pittsburgh Steelers. Maclin was able to participate in practice Friday, Oct. 23, and performed well.

Fantasy Tip: Maclin ($7,600, 15.2% of cap) appears to be on track to play this week, but owners may want to look for any updates on his status this weekend. Maclin could be a risky option for owners because of his concussion but likely will see plenty of targets during the game.

Chiefs | Jeremy Maclin in concussion protocol

Wed, 21 Oct 2015 10:52:08 -0700

Updating a previous report, Kansas City Chiefs WR Jeremy Maclin (concussion) must pass the league's concussion protocol this week in order to play in Week 7 against the Pittsburgh Steelers. Maclin has been QB Alex Smith's favorite target, compiling 39 catches (eighth-most in the league) on 56 targets for 531 yards and a touchdown. WRs Albert Wilson and Chris Conley would likely be the top receivers if Maclin isn't cleared in time.

Fantasy Tip: Maclin's ($7,600, 15.2% of cap) Week 7 daily value just became very shaky, and we probably won't know until later this week if he'll be cleared to play. If he's out, none of the Chiefs offensive weapons are strong daily picks besides tight end Travis Kelce ($7,000, 14.0% of cap).

Chiefs | Jeremy Maclin out Wednesday

Wed, 21 Oct 2015 10:23:01 -0700

Kansas City Chiefs WR Jeremy Maclin (concussion) won't practice Wednesday, Oct. 21.

Fantasy Tip: Thursday is usually a big day for concussions. Maclin ($7,600, 15.2% of cap) has a decent matchup against the Pittsburgh Steelers, and he had a big stretch between Weeks 3-5. He'd be a high-end WR2 if he goes.

Kansas City Chiefs WR Jeremy Maclin (head) is being evaluated for a possible concussion during Week 6's game against the Minnesota Vikings. He is considered questionable to return.

Chiefs | Jeremy Maclin busy again

Sun, 11 Oct 2015 17:33:02 -0700

Kansas City Chiefs WR Jeremy Maclin had eight catches on 12 targets for 85 yards in an 18-17 loss to the Chicago Bears in Week 5.

Fantasy Tip: Maclin ($7,200, 14.4% of cap) has 27 catches on 36 targets for 369 yards over the last three games, and he has logged double-digit targets in every game. Maclin is worthy of a starting spot at FantasyScore on a weekly basis, and his value could be on the rise with Jamaal Charles likely being lost for the season in Week 5.

Chiefs | Jeremy Maclin stays hot

Sun, 04 Oct 2015 18:49:26 -0700

Kansas City Chiefs WR Jeremy Maclin had 11 catches for 148 yards in a 36-21 loss to the Cincinnati Bengals in Week 4.

Fantasy Tip: Maclin ($6,300, 12.6% of cap) followed up a 141-yard performance in Week 3 by logging season highs in catches, targets and yards. He seems to be finding his role in the Kansas City offense and looks like a safe play at FantasyScore.
