Forst has not interviewed for the position, nor has anyone asked for permission to interview him.
Thu, 26 Mar 2009 20:42:43 -0700 Joe Stiglich, of The Oakland Tribune, reports Oakland Athletics SP Justin Duchscherer (elbow) was forced to cut short his outing Thursday, March 26, after he experienced more of the right elbow pain that has sabotaged his spring training. Stiglich speculates this latest setback all but guarantees Duchscherer starts the season on the disabled list. "He did not come out of it well," A's assistant general manager David Forst said. "He left the game with elbow soreness. We'll get together with the trainers and figure out what the next step is."
Wed, 28 Jan 2009 04:22:47 -0800 The San Francisco Chronicle's Susan Slusser reports Oakland Athletics 2B Jemile Weeks (hip) has been cleared to participate in Spring Training. Weeks missed the second half with a torn hip flexor, and there was concern he suffered a sports hernia as well. Assistant general manager David Forst said the problem was diagnosed as edema in the area of the original injury.

Thomas has previously expressed interest in coming back and playing with Oakland, according to A's assistant general manager David Forst.

He'll be sidelined for six to eight weeks after suffering a freak injury at home recently, according to assistant general manager David Forst. "Apparently, he was going to sit down and braced himself on a chair when he felt a pop," said Forst. "The doctors speculated that maybe he had a bone spur that became dislodged, so they went in and cleaned some things out."

He'll spend six weeks on crutches, and the team is hoping he'll be completely recovered in three months. The hip injury began to bother Barton late in the season, along with minor groin issues, according to assistant general manager David Forst.
