Braves | Freddie Freeman launches No. 15

Sat, 29 Aug 2015 05:31:23 -0700

Atlanta Braves 1B Freddie Freeman went 2-for-3 with a home run and two RBI during the Braves' 15-4 loss to the New York Yankees Friday, Aug. 28.

Fantasy Tip: It was Freeman's ($5,000, 10.0% of cap) first home run since returning from the disabled list nine games ago. He doesn't have a lot of help surrounding him in Atlanta, which stands to impact his upside through the end of the year and potentially next season, too. He is a risky play at FantasyScore outside of prime matchups.

Braves | Freddie Freeman activated, starting

Wed, 19 Aug 2015 11:23:32 -0700

Atlanta Braves 1B Freddie Freeman (oblique) was activated from the disabled list and is in the starting lineup against San Diego Padres SP Tyson Ross Wednesday, Aug. 19.

Fantasy Tip: Freeman ($5,000, 10.0% of cap) was dealing with a tricky oblique injury, so there's no guarantee he'll hit for power upon his return or go right back to picking up where he left offensively before his injury. However, you'll want to return him to your traditional lineups immediately. In daily games, perhaps it's best to hold off and see how he fares before using him in your lineups.

Braves | Freddie Freeman could return next week

Fri, 14 Aug 2015 14:03:40 -0700

Atlanta Braves 1B Freddie Freeman (oblique) is expected to play in a few rehab games for Class AAA Gwinnett and then rejoin the team in the series against the San Diego Padres Wednesday, Aug. 19, according to manager Fredi Gonzalez.

Fantasy Tip: Freeman ($5,000, 10.0% of cap) should immediately be returned to all starting lineups when he's activated next week. Nick Swisher ($2,900, 5.8% of cap) could find himself in a platoon with Michael Bourn in the outfield once Freeman returns, which should limit his fantasy value in deeper mixed leagues.

Braves | Freddie Freeman could return next week

Wed, 12 Aug 2015 19:50:36 -0700

Updating a previous report, Atlanta Braves 1B Freddie Freeman (oblique) will begin his minor league rehab assignment with the organization's Gulf Coast League affiliate Thursday, Aug. 13. General manager John Hart is optimistic that he can be activated Wednesday, Aug. 19, after spending the minimum number of days on the disabled list.

Fantasy Tip: Continue to keep Freeman rostered ($5,000, 10.0% of cap) in all fantasy formats, despite the offensive struggles he experienced following his return from his first DL stint. FantasyScore owners will want to see him play a game or two before committing to using him. Through 76 games this season, Freeman is batting .284 with 14 home runs and 45 RBIs.

Braves | Freddie Freeman set for rehab assingment

Wed, 12 Aug 2015 15:08:18 -0700

Atlanta Braves 1B Freddie Freeman (oblique) will begin his rehab assignment Thursday, Aug. 13.

Fantasy Tip: Continue to hold Freeman ($5,000, 10.0% of cap) in all fantasy formats, as he has a lot of upside and can help your fantasy team down the stretch. For the season, he has a .284/.348/.500 slash line with 46 RBI, 14 home runs and 45 RBI over 322 plate appearances this season.

Braves | Freddie Freeman could return soon

Tue, 04 Aug 2015 16:40:50 -0700

Atlanta Braves 1B Freddie Freeman (oblique) and the team are hoping that he can return right after his 15-day disabled list stint is up like he did for an oblique strain in 2013. Manager Fredi Gonzalez said it's not a high oblique strain, so the injury isn't deemed as serious. Freeman will head to Florida to work out and rehab. He was just 3-for-23 in his first six games after returning from a wrist injury, and was 7-for-38 (.184) with a double, two home runs and four RBI in 10 games since returning from the DL.

Fantasy Tip: Even though Freeman ($5,000, 10.0% of cap) wasn't hitting well following his return from his first DL stint, he must be retained in all fantasy leagues. Chris Johnson ($2,700, 5.4% of cap) figures to see the bulk of playing time at first base with Freeman out. Johnson is a very mediocre FantasyScore commodity, though, and he doesn't display much power at all in a weak overall offense.

Braves | Freddie Freeman back on DL

Tue, 04 Aug 2015 11:30:13 -0700

Atlanta Braves 1B Freddie Freeman (oblique) was placed on the 15-day disabled list with a strained right oblique Tuesday, Aug. 4.

Fantasy Tip: It's another tough break for Freeman ($5,000, 10.0% of cap) and his owners. He had just seven hits (two home runs) in 38 at-bats since returning from his first DL stint. Continue stashing him on the DL. Chris Johnson ($2,700, 5.4% of cap) might benefit the most from extra playing time at first base. The Braves become much weaker offensively without Freeman, and targeting cheap starters against them could prove effective on FantasyScore.

Braves | Freddie Freeman leaves early

Mon, 03 Aug 2015 18:12:10 -0700

Atlanta Braves 1B Freddie Freeman (oblique) left the game Monday, Aug. 3, against the San Francisco Giants due to a right oblique injury. He is considered day to day.

Fantasy Tip: FantasyScore players, you know the drill. At least it wasn't an aggravation of the wrist injury which forced him out for several weeks. Avoid using Freeman ($5,000, 10.0% of cap) until he can officially return and prove his health in two full games without any lingering discomfort.

Braves | Freddie Freeman hitless in loss

Mon, 27 Jul 2015 22:08:41 -0700

Atlanta Braves 1B Freddie Freeman went hitless in five at-bats with two strikeouts Monday, July 27, against the Baltimore Orioles. It was his first time batting third since returning from the 15-day disabled list over the weekend.

Fantasy Tip: Freeman ($5,000, 10.0% of cap) should be avoided in FantasyScore until he knocks off the rust and starts to hit with a little consistency.

Braves | Freddie Freeman back in starting lineup

Sun, 26 Jul 2015 09:07:46 -0700

Atlanta Braves 1B Freddie Freeman (wrist) will start at first base against St. Louis Cardinals SP Michael Wacha Sunday, July 26, and is batting fourth in the lineup.

Fantasy Tip: Freeman ($4,300, 8.6% of cap) will receive his first start since returning from the disabled list. Owners on FantasyScore may want to see him play in a full game because considering him an option for their lineup.
