Atlanta Braves 1B Freddie Freeman was not in the starting lineup Thursday, May 24, because he is dealing with dry eyes while wearing contacts which is affecting his eyesight. The team has ordered a pair of sports glasses for him to wear instead of contacts. Freeman said he will continue to wear the glasses unless he finds a pair of contacts that do not irritate his eyes. Freeman has gone only 9-for-55 with one home run and six RBIs in his last 15 games.

Atlanta Braves 1B Freddie Freeman (eyes) is returning to the lineup Wednesday, May 16, after suffering from scratches to his eyes. He took antibiotic eye drops that healed the scratches. Freeman will receive a pair of glasses if he decides not to use his contacts.

Colorado Rockies SP Juan Nicasio was rocked for six runs on eight hits, including a three-run home run by Atlanta Braves 1B Freddie Freeman in the third inning, as the Rockies lost 7-2 on Sunday, May 6. Nicasio "got some balls up today, and he threw a bad changeup to Freddie Freeman and that got the ball rolling in the wrong direction," manager Jim Tracy said.
