Washington Nationals Class AAA manager Tony Beasley is a candidate to become the team's third base coach next season, replacing Houston Astros manager Bo Porter at the position. The Nats will wait to finalize their coaching staff until after manager Davey Johnson's contract situation is settled, though.

The Washington Nationals have named Randy Knorr manager for Triple-A Syracuse, Tony Beasley manager for Double-A Harrisburg and Gary Cathcart manager for Class A Auburn, according to USAToday.com. Franklin Bravo and Luis Ordaz were also named pitching coach and hitting coach respectively for Auburn.

Pirates.MLB.com's Jenifer Langosch reports Pittsburgh Pirates bench coach Gary Varsho, hitting coach Don Long, third base coach Tony Beasley and bullpen coach Luis Dorante have been retained.
