|Red Sox | Jean Machi named closer for BOS|
Sun, 30 Aug 2015 13:09:45 -0700
Fantasy Tip: Entering play Sunday, Aug. 30, Machi was 1-0 with a 1.39 ERA and three saves through 46 games this season. He should be grabbed in AL-only and deep mixed leagues if you are desperate for saves.

|Red Sox | Junichi Tazawa remains closer|
Mon, 24 Aug 2015 16:56:04 -0700
Boston Red Sox RP Junichi Tazawa blew the save against the Kansas City Royals Sunday, Aug. 23, but interim manager Torey Lovullo said Tazawa will remain the team's closer. However, Lovullo said he's likely to give Tazawa a rest Monday, Aug. 24, after he threw 30 pitches Sunday. Opponents are hitting .293 against him in his career when he's pitched in the ninth inning, but they're hitting just .220 against Tazawa in the eighth inning.
Fantasy Tip: Tazawa deserves to be owned in all leagues despite his struggles in the ninth inning in limited duty in his career, and he's expected to see most of the ninth-inning save opportunities for the remainder of the season. Jean Machi is likely next in line if Boston has a change of heart.

|Red Sox | Junichi Tazawa records consecutive saves|
Fri, 21 Aug 2015 05:54:04 -0700
Boston Red Sox RP Junichi Tazawa looks to be the closer after recording his second save in as many nights Thursday, Aug. 20. Tazawa has allowed runs in six of his last 15 appearances, but his saves on consecutive nights indicate he might have turned a corner. He has needed only 25 pitches (18 strikes) to get six consecutive outs.
Fantasy Tip: Tazawa should be owned in most formats.

|Red Sox | Junichi Tazawa can't hang on for save|
Tue, 11 Aug 2015 20:40:58 -0700
Fantasy Tip: Tazawa and Jean Machi are expected to see save chances with Koji Uehara (wrist) sidelined for the rest of the season. So far, Machi appears to be the better add as he had a scoreless eighth inning and is likely to see the next save opportunity.

|Red Sox | Several BOS players receiving interest|
Fri, 24 Jul 2015 17:21:44 -0700
Fantasy Tip: The oft-injured Victorino ($2,700, 5.2% of cap) is hitting .247 in 89 at-bats this season with just one home run and four RBIs entering play Friday, July 24, and is not a great FantasyScore option at this point. Uehara has a 2.67 ERA and 22 saves in 37 games this year, while Tazawa has struck out 41 batters over 40 2/3 innings with a 2.88 ERA through 42 games.

|Red Sox | Junichi Tazawa to be setup man|
Fri, 01 Aug 2014 14:41:05 -0700
Boston Red Sox RP Junichi Tazawa will be the primary setup man after RP Andrew Miller was dealt to the Baltimore Orioles, according to manager John Farrell. The rest of the bullpen roles need to be sorted out.
Fantasy Tip: This was kind of expected. Tazawa is now next in line to take over the ninth-inning duties should Koji Uehara be injured. Tazawa, even without being a closer, can be useful to owners looking to improve their ERA and WHIP.
