Blue Jays | Chris Colabello out Wednesday

Wed, 29 Jul 2015 14:15:12 -0700

Toronto Blue Jays OF Chris Colabello is not in the starting lineup Wednesday, July 29. OF Danny Valencia is starting in left field and hitting sixth against Philadelphia Phillies SP Jerome Williams.

Fantasy Tip: Williams is a very hittable pitcher that Toronto should have success against tonight, including Valencia ($2,900, 5.8% of cap). Valencia probably won't be on many people's radar, but he could be a nice value pick and a great source of salary cap relief.

Blue Jays | Chris Colabello not in the lineup

Fri, 24 Jul 2015 15:51:51 -0700

Toronto Blue Jays OF Chris Colabello is not in the starting lineup against Seattle Mariners SP Felix Hernandez Friday, July 24. OF Danny Valencia will start in left field and is batting seventh in the lineup.

Fantasy Tip: Colabello ($3,600, 7.2% of cap) likely is receiving a day off and will be back in the lineup soon. Valencia ($2,600, 5.2% of cap) has picked up at least one hit in eight of his last 12 games with three home runs and seven RBI during that span. Valencia has a tough matchup but could be a cheaper option for owners on FantasyScore to consider.

Blue Jays | Danny Valencia starting in left

Wed, 22 Jul 2015 16:17:03 -0700

Toronto Blue Jays OF Danny Valencia will start in left field and hit eighth in the order Wednesday, July 22, against the Oakland Athletics and RHP Sonny Gray.

Fantasy Tip: Valencia ($2,600, 5.2% of cap) typically draws his starts against lefties, but he's maintaining a .294 average against righties as well. Valencia will offer cap relief to FantasyScore owners in GPP tournaments, and he'll have a fair amount of power upside.

Blue Jays | Josh Donaldson not in the lineup

Sun, 12 Jul 2015 09:10:22 -0700

Toronto Blue Jays 3B Josh Donaldson is not in the starting lineup against Kansas City Royals SP Edinson Volquez Sunday, July 12. OF Danny Valencia will start at third base and is batting seventh in the lineup.

Fantasy Tip: Donaldson ($6,000, 12.0% of cap) probably is receiving a day off before the break. Valencia ($2,600, 5.2% of cap) is only hitting .207 this month but also has two home runs and four RBI during that span. Owners on FantasyScore could consider Valencia as an option if they are looking for a cheaper option.

Blue Jays | Josh Donaldson leaves game

Sat, 11 Jul 2015 17:13:58 -0700

Toronto Blue Jays 3B Josh Donaldson (illness) left in the sixth inning against the Kansas City Royals with flu-like symptoms Saturday, July 11. He was replaced by OF Danny Valencia.

Fantasy Tip: Since it seems like Donaldson ($6,000, 12.0%) started to feel worse during the game, it wouldn't be a surprise to see the illness carry over into Sunday's game. Valencia ($2,600, 5.2%) hit a three-run homer after replacing Donaldson, and he could make a nice source of cap relief at FantasyScore if he replaces Donaldson again.

Wed, 08 Jul 2015 15:29:58 -0700

Toronto Blue Jays OF Danny Valencia is batting sixth against Chicago White Sox SP John Danks Wednesday, July 8.

Fantasy Tip: Valencia ($2,600, 5.2% of cap) owns a .317/.358/.444 slash line against southpaws this season and a .326/.367/.496 career line. Add his low cap hit and favorable matchup against Danks, and Valencia is an excellent low-priced target for FantasyScore players Wednesday.

Sat, 04 Jul 2015 08:07:16 -0700

Toronto Blue Jays OF Danny Valencia will start in left field against Detroit Tigers SP David Price Saturday, July 4, and is batting fifth in the lineup.

Fantasy Tip: Valencia ($2,600, 5.2% of cap) likely is in the lineup since the team is facing a left-handed pitcher. He is hitting .377 with one home run and nine RBI against lefties this season. Valencia could be a cheaper option for owners on FantasyScore, but owners could also look at other options.

Blue Jays | Dioner Navarro not in vs. lefty

Thu, 02 Jul 2015 14:17:20 -0700

Toronto Blue Jays C Dioner Navarro is not in the starting lineup against Boston Red Sox SP Wade Miler Thursday, July 2. OF Danny Valencia is starting in left field and hitting seventh, with OF Chris Colabello playing first base.

Fantasy Tip: Valencia ($2,600, 5.2% of cap) could pay off as a nice sleeper pick on FantasyScore tonight because of his .380/.415/.480 slash line with an .895 OPS against southpaws in 50 at-bats this year. However, none of his four home runs this year have come against left-handers.
