Dodgers | Justin Turner out Sunday

Sun, 30 Aug 2015 15:02:33 -0700

Los Angeles Dodgers 3B Justin Turner is not in the starting lineup Sunday, Aug. 30, against the Chicago Cubs. OF Enrique Hernandez is playing third base against Cubs SP Jake Arrieta, and OF Joc Pederson is in Hernandez's place.

Fantasy Tip: Turner ($5,400, 10.8% of cap) may be due for a day off with a .136 mark in the last week, and the right vs. left matchup may be just what Turner needs. Sit him down for the night.

Dodgers | Justin Turner back at 3B

Fri, 14 Aug 2015 14:56:10 -0700

Los Angeles Dodgers 3B Justin Turner (thigh) is back in the starting lineup and is hitting third against Cincinnati Reds SP John Lamb Friday, Aug. 14.

Fantasy Tip: Lamb is making his major league debut for the Reds, so using Turner ($5,300, 10.6% of cap) in your FantasyScore starting lineups is wise. Turner was hitting an impressive .323 (83-for-257) with 13 home runs and 44 RBI before getting a serious MRSA infection in his leg.

Dodgers | Justin Turner activated

Thu, 13 Aug 2015 16:00:01 -0700

Los Angeles Dodgers 3B Justin Turner (thigh) was activated from the disabled list Thursday, Aug. 13, and 2B Jose Peraza was optioned to Class AAA Oklahoma City in a corresponding move.

Fantasy Tip: Turner ($5,300, 10.6% of cap) isn't in the starting lineup tonight, but expect him to return tomorrow. He should immediately be put back into all starting lineups, and his position versatility for fantasy owners is clutch. If he picks up where he left off at the plate, Turner will continue to be an excellent value play on FantasyScore, too.

Dodgers | Justin Turner had MRSA

Wed, 12 Aug 2015 19:17:48 -0700

During a press conference Wednesday, Aug. 12, Los Angeles Dodgers 3B Justin Turner (thigh) said that he had been diagnosed with MRSA, which is a serious staph infection that can be difficult to treat if it spreads. Turner was placed on the disabled list because of a skin irritation on his right thigh but could be activated as soon as Thursday, Aug. 13.

Fantasy Tip: Fortunately, Turner's ($5,300, 10.6% of cap) situation is now under control. Although he has been a solid fantasy option this season, FantasyScore owners should avoid using him in his first game off the disabled list. Expect INFs Alex Guerrero ($3,300, 6.6% of cap) and Alberto Callaspo ($1,900, 3.8% of cap) to see decreased playing time once Turner is activated.

Dodgers | Justin Turner set for return

Wed, 12 Aug 2015 17:00:48 -0700

Los Angeles Dodgers 3B Justin Turner (thigh) will be activated from the disabled list Thursday, Aug. 13, or Friday, Aug. 14.

Fantasy Tip: Don't be afraid to avoid Turner ($5,300, 10.6% of cap) for a game or two until he returns to form. He has been an excellent fantasy option all season and projects to pick up where he left off hitting in the heart of the Los Angeles lineup. Check back for an official update on when he'll return.

Dodgers | Justin Turner back middle of the week

Mon, 10 Aug 2015 09:29:12 -0700

Los Angeles Dodgers 3B Justin Turner (thigh) took batting practice Sunday, Aug. 9, and is expected to be activated from the disabled list this week.

Fantasy Tip: Turner ($5,300, 10.6% of cap) is having a breakout season, batting .323 with 13 home runs and 44 RBI. He is a must-start in all yearly leagues and is competitively priced as a daily play. Alberto Callaspo and Alex Guerrero will return to part time duty when he returns.

Dodgers | Justin Turner out longer

Fri, 07 Aug 2015 16:34:14 -0700

Los Angeles Dodgers 3B Justin Turner (thigh) has just started to hit off a tee, and his return date from the disabled list will be a "day or within a day or two of that," according to manager Don Mattingly. Turner was shut down for 10 days entirely. The Dodgers initially thought Turner would miss the minimum 15 days on the disabled list and return Tuesday, Aug. 11.

Fantasy Tip: Continue stashing Turner in all leagues. It was initially believed that Alex Guerrero would see most of the playing time at third base in Turner's absence, but Alberto Callaspo ($1,900, 3.8% of cap) has started there the last three games. He's a low-end FantasyScore third baseman when he's in the lineup.

Dodgers | Justin Turner back soon?

Tue, 04 Aug 2015 14:44:38 -0700

Los Angeles Dodgers 2B Justin Turner (leg) is expected to return from the disabled list when his 15 days are up, according to manager Don Mattingly.

Fantasy Tip: Turner ($5,300, 10.6% of cap) will likely immediately return to the starting duties at third base when he's ready. The way he's been hitting this year, you'll want to get him right back into your starting lineups. Hitting ahead of Adrian Gonzalez in the heart of the order has made him extremely attractive to FantasyScore users.

Dodgers | Justin Turner timeline

Fri, 31 Jul 2015 16:29:49 -0700

Updating an ongoing story, Los Angeles Dodgers 3B Justin Turner (leg, illness) will need another six to seven days before resuming baseball activities.

Fantasy Tip: Expect Turner ($5,300, 10.6% of cap) to miss two weeks, at the most, and it is unlikely he'll require a minor league rehab assignment. Continue to monitor the situation, and expect Alex Guerrero ($3,300, 6.6% of cap) to see the majority of starts at third base with Turner out.

Dodgers | Justin Turner has a skin infection

Fri, 31 Jul 2015 16:15:02 -0700

Updating a previous report, Los Angeles Dodgers 3B Justin Turner (leg, illness) has a skin infection on his right thigh.

Fantasy Tip: While it is never ideal to have a player miss time, Turner ($5,300, 10.6% of cap) isn't dealing with an injury that'll significantly impact his baseball activities, such as a knee, shoulder or hand injury would. Continue to check back for updates.
