Dodgers | Justin Turner starting at hot corner

Wed, 13 May 2015 13:37:47 -0700

Los Angeles Dodgers 2B Justin Turner is starting at third base and hitting second in the batting order against Miami Marlins SP Jarred Cosart Wednesday, May 13. 3B Juan Uribe is starting on the bench yet again.

Fantasy Tip: The Dodgers are going with a revolving door at third base for the foreseeable future with Turner, Uribe and Alex Guerrero. Uribe will probably be the odd-man out more often than not, and he's probably only worth owning in NL-only leagues at this point. Turner ($1,800, 3.6% of cap) is hitting .309 (17-for-55) on the year with five home runs and 13 RBI, including .333 (16-for-48) with all five of his long balls off right-handers. At that price, it's hard not to like him while hitting atop a very potent lineup for your FantasyScore lineups. He'll save you tons of money elsewhere, too.

Dodgers | Third base platoon for Dodgers

Wed, 13 May 2015 07:29:09 -0700

Los Angeles Dodgers 3B Juan Uribe has been relegated to a committee at third base with 2B Alex Guerrero and 2B Justin Turner. Manager Don Mattingly said there is no official starter at the position.

Fantasy Tip: Alex Guerrero ($3,400, 6.8% of your cap) is probably in the lead with his .353-6-16 line. Justin Turner ($1,800, 3.6%) is more of a utility player and will fill in multiple spots, but Uribe is clearly on the outs. Guerrero is a solid 2B option on FantasyScore. Corey Seager remains a player to watch if Guerrero falls back or Jimmy Rollins doesn't improve his .174 batting clip.

Dodgers | Justin Turner starting at third

Mon, 11 May 2015 14:55:46 -0700

Los Angeles Dodgers 2B/3B Justin Turner is starting at third base and batting fifth against the Miami Marlins Monday, May 11.

Fantasy Tip: Turner ($1,800, 3.6% of cap) is riding an extended hot streak with nine runs, five home runs, 12 RBI and a .357/.426/.810 slash line over his last 47 plate appearances. At his cap hit and in his current form, Turner is a high-end budget play for FantasyScore contests Monday. Until Turner's playing time or production starts to dip, he is worth owning in the majority of seasonal leagues.

Dodgers | Justin Turner hitting cleanup

Sat, 09 May 2015 14:35:55 -0700

Los Angeles Dodgers 2B Justin Turner is hitting cleanup Saturday, May 9, against Colorado Rockies SP Jorge De La Rosa.

Fantasy Tip: Turner ($1,800, 3.6% of your cap) is of to a .314-4-10 start this season and is worth a low-end 2B flyer.

Dodgers | Howie Kendrick out Friday

Fri, 08 May 2015 15:25:12 -0700

Los Angeles Dodgers 2B Howie Kendrick is out of the starting lineup Friday, May 8. 2B Justin Turner is starting at the keystone and is hitting third in the batting order against Colorado Rockies SP Eddie Butler.

Fantasy Tip: Turner ($1,800, 3.6% of cap) has been hot of late, and he's deserved to hit high in the order with Kendrick resting. Since the calendar has flipped to May, Turner is hitting .412 (7-for-17) with three home runs and six RBI. Ride him while he's hot as a great value play for a bargain at FantasyScore.

Dodgers | Justin Turner starting at the hot corner

Wed, 06 May 2015 15:29:31 -0700

Los Angeles Dodgers 2B Justin Turner is batting fifth and playing third base against the Milwaukee Brewers Wednesday, May 6.

Fantasy Tip: Turner ($1,800, 3.6% of cap) is riding a 13-for-35 run with six runs, four home runs, 10 RBI and a .371/.421/.829 slash line. At his cap hit, and hitting in a prime RBI spot in the lineup, it is tough to find better value. FantasyScore players -- and seasonal players in deep leagues -- should take note of Turner. It isn't out of the question for him to slowly take over the majority of starts at third base from 36-year-old Juan Uribe.

Dodgers | Juan Uribe sitting against Brewers

Tue, 05 May 2015 16:42:56 -0700

Los Angeles Dodgers 3B Juan Uribe is not in the starting lineup Tuesday, May 5. 2B Justin Turner is starting at third base and hitting fifth in the batting order against Milwaukee Brewers SP Matt Garza.

Fantasy Tip: Turner ($1,800, 3.6% of cap) is hitting .293 (12-for-41) on the year with three home runs and six RBI, including three home runs in his last five games. Turner is hot, but he's still largely a dice roll at FantasyScore as a cheap second base alternative.

Dodgers | Juan Uribe sitting out vs. Arizona

Fri, 01 May 2015 15:23:44 -0700

Los Angeles Dodgers 3B Juan Uribe is not in the starting lineup against the Arizona Diamondbacks Friday, May 1. 2B/3B Justin Turner is starting at the hot corner and batting fifth.

Fantasy Tip: Turner ($1,800, 3.6% of cap) is a low-priced flier for FantasyScore players Friday. He has hit .313 over his last 521 at-bats, and hitting behind Adrian Gonzalez helps, too. The 36-year-old Uribe ($2,200, 4.4% of cap) is in danger of losing additional playing time, and he is best ignored in the majority of fantasy formats.

Dodgers | Adrian Gonzalez receiving breather

Tue, 28 Apr 2015 16:55:23 -0700

Los Angeles Dodgers 1B Adrian Gonzalez is not in the starting lineup Tuesday, April 28. 2B Justin Turner is starting at first base and hitting third in the batting order against San Francisco Giants SP Madison Bumgarner.

Fantasy Tip: Turner ($1,800, 3.6% of cap) hit a home run last night and is 7-for-21 (.333) with two home runs and three RBI in his career against Bumgarner. Still, it's hard to recommend Turner for your FantasyScore lineups unless you're deliberately looking to zag when others zig tonight.

Dodgers | Jimmy Rollins out Thursday

Thu, 23 Apr 2015 10:50:02 -0700

Los Angeles Dodgers SS Jimmy Rollins is not in the starting lineup Thursday, April 23. 2B Justin Turner is starting at shortstop and hitting leadoff against San Francisco Giants SP Ryan Vogelsong.

Fantasy Tip: Turner ($1,800, 3.6% of cap) won't turn heads in typical fantasy baseball leagues, but he should tip the scales a bit Thursday at FantasyScore as a cheap flyer. Vogelsong (0-1, 10.45 ERA, 2.81 WHIP) is off to a horrendous start to the season.
