Dodgers | Justin Turner drives in two more

Sat, 23 Jul 2016 21:48:26 -0700

Los Angeles Dodgers 3B Justin Turner went 2-for-5 with a double, two RBI and a steal in a 7-2 win over the St. Louis Cardinals Saturday, July 23, and he is hitting .378 with 14 RBI in eight games since the All-Star break.

Fantasy Tip: Turner's bat just won't cool off. Needless to say, you should be riding his hot streak in daily games.

Dodgers | Justin Turner just keeps hitting

Fri, 22 Jul 2016 23:42:55 -0700

Los Angeles Dodgers 3B Justin Turner was 2-for-7 with a solo home run against the St. Louis Cardinals on Friday, July 22. It was his seventh home run in July and 18th on the season.

Fantasy Tip: At the end of May, Turner was sporting a .225-3-16 line. Ever since: .299-15-40 in 167 ABs. His suddenly explosive power makes Turner a quality starter in pretty any fantasy league at this juncture.

Dodgers | Justin Turner has monster outing

Thu, 21 Jul 2016 14:33:31 -0700

Los Angeles Dodgers 3B Justin Turner went 2-for-5 with two home runs and five RBI during the Dodgers' 6-3 win over the Washington Nationals Thursday, July 21.

Fantasy Tip: Since the calendar flipped to June, Turner has 14 home runs and 39 RBI through 42 games, and he currently sits with a .267/.345/.482 slash line for the season. View him as a strong starter at the hot corner in all fantasy formats going forward, and he's likely undervalued in many leagues.

Dodgers | Evan Longoria to L.A. unlikely

Mon, 18 Jul 2016 15:50:18 -0700

It's unlikely that Tampa Bay Rays 3B Evan Longoria will be traded to the Los Angeles Dodgers before the trading deadline Aug. 1. After this year, Longoria will be guaranteed $99 million over the next six years, and he's on track to receive full no-trade rights as a 10-and-5 player early in 2018. It's unclear if the Dodgers would be willing to move 3B Justin Turner to second base for the rest of the year.

Fantasy Tip: Longoria is having a great season with a .286/.336/.533 slash line, 21 home runs and 49 RBI and would benefit from a move to a more productive lineup in Southern California, where he played college ball. Longoria is a must-start fantasy third baseman already, and he'd be a huge boon to a club in an NL-only league.

Fantasy Tip: Turner is healthy and hitting and should be starting in most formats.

Dodgers | Justin Turner takes a seat

Tue, 05 Jul 2016 15:37:36 -0700

Los Angeles Dodgers 3B Justin Turner is not in the starting lineup Tuesday, July 5. SS Chris Taylor is at the hot corner and is hitting eighth against Baltimore Orioles SP Chris Tillman. Also, OF Trayce Thompson moves up to hit third in the batting order.

Fantasy Tip: Taylor doesn't have many offensive skills and is hitting just .200 (2-for-10). He's never hit a home run in 92 career major league games. Avoid him in all formats. Thompson hasn't hit for average (.237) but has valuable pop (13 home runs, 32 RBI) and is a great value play in DFS this evening in the middle of the order.

Dodgers | Justin Turner back in lineup

Wed, 29 Jun 2016 14:18:48 -0700

Los Angeles Dodgers 3B Justin Turner (hamstring) is back in the lineup Wednesday, June 29. He's starting at third base and batting third opposite Milwaukee Brewers SP Junior Guerra.

Fantasy Tip: Turner had to leave Monday's game early due to a hamstring cramp, but as it turns out, the ailment only cost him one contest. The Dodgers will gladly take that, as the 31-year-old has been enjoying by far his best month of the season. In 24 games in June, Turner is hitting .278 with eight home runs and 22 RBI.

Dodgers | Justin Turner expected back Wednesday

Tue, 28 Jun 2016 14:26:32 -0700

Los Angeles Dodgers 3B Justin Turner (hamstring) is expected to return to play Wednesday, June 29.

Fantasy Tip: Turner suffered a hammy cramp during the game Monday, but it's not serious. As expected, he's struggled to match his numbers from a breakout 2015 campaign, but Turner has turned it on of late and is hitting .278 with eight home runs and 22 RBI in the month of June. Return him to your lineups if he's back Wednesday.

Dodgers | Justin Turner out Tuesday

Tue, 28 Jun 2016 13:42:44 -0700

Los Angeles Dodgers 3B Justin Turner (hamstring) is not starting Tuesday, June 28, against the Milwaukee Brewers. SS Chris Taylor will play third base and bat eighth against Brewers SP Chase Anderson.

Fantasy Tip: Turner suffered a hamstring cramp on Monday and the team said he was day-to-day, so this is likely precautionary. Taylor just got called up from Class AAA Oklahoma City, so give him some at-bats before assessing his value. Barring injury, he projects as a pure backup infielder.

Dodgers | Justin Turner drives in three

Mon, 27 Jun 2016 05:39:28 -0700

Los Angeles Dodgers 3B Justin Turner drove in all three of his team's runs off a two-run homer and a double in a 4-3 loss to the Pittsburgh Pirates on Sunday, June 26.

Fantasy Tip: Turner has 11 homers and a .437 slugging percentage and continues to be a dominant Dodger hitter. Continue playing him in DFS and in regular formats.
