Rays | LoMo expected back Wednesday

Tue, 26 Jul 2016 19:17:21 -0700

Updating a previous report, Tampa Bay Rays 1B Logan Morrison (forearm) is expected back in the lineup Wednesday, July 27, against the Los Angeles Dodgers, according to manager Kevin Cash.

Fantasy Tip: Avoid LoMo in all daily fantasy formats and DFS play until he can officially return and prove in a game or two that there are no lingering effects of his forearm tendinits.

Rays | Logan Morrison still sidelined

Tue, 26 Jul 2016 15:44:58 -0700

Tampa Bay Rays 1B Logan Morrison (wrist) is not in the starting lineup against Los Angeles Dodgers SP Bud Norris Tuesday, July 26. 1B Steve Pearce will start at first base and is batting fifth in the lineup.

Fantasy Tip: Pearce is hitting .227 with one home run and four RBI over the last seven days. He is still hitting .311 for the season and could be a sleeper option for some owners in daily fantasy leagues.

Rays | Two Rays players sitting out

Sun, 24 Jul 2016 10:39:03 -0700

Tampa Bay Rays 1B Logan Morrison and OF Brandon Guyer are not in the starting lineup against Oakland Athletics SP Jesse Hahn Sunday, July 24. 1B Steve Pearce will start at first base and is batting sixth. OF Corey Dickerson will start in left field, while OF Oswaldo Arcia will serve as the designated hitter and is hitting sixth.

Fantasy Tip: Pearce has five hits one home run and four RBI since returning from the disabled list and should be a decent option for owners in daily fantasy leagues. Arcia is only hitting .138 this month and should be avoided in most fantasy leagues.

Rays | Logan Morrison battling tendinitis

Fri, 22 Jul 2016 17:19:03 -0700

Updating previous reports, Tampa Bay Rays 1B Logan Morrison (forearm) has been diagnosed with tendinitis in his forearm and received a shot, according to manager Kevin Cash. He could be available off the bench Saturday, July 23.

Fantasy Tip: Consider Morrison to be day-to-day for now, with INF Steve Pearce likely to receive most of the playing time at first base in his absence. Morrison is batting .232 with 10 home runs and 31 RBI through 85 games and should only be owned in AL-only and cavernous mixed seasonal leagues.

Rays | Logan Morrison not DL-bound?

Thu, 21 Jul 2016 17:13:30 -0700

Tampa Bay Rays 1B Logan Morrison (wrist) is not expected to end up on the disabled list, according to manager Kevin Cash.

Fantasy Tip: Morrison has missed the past few games with a wrist issue, but it looks like he'll be able to escape a trip to the DL. While he remains sidelined, that could provide some extra at-bats for the likes of Tim Beckham and Oswaldo Arcia.

Rays | Logan Morrison's wrist hurting

Thu, 21 Jul 2016 15:37:06 -0700

Tampa Bay Rays 1B Logan Morrison (wrist) said his wrist started bothering him after the All-Star break and hasn't improved with a few days of rest.

Fantasy Tip: Aside from the wrist problems, Morrison was likely to lose valuable playing time anyway with Steve Pearce returning from the DL earlier this week. That combined with a weak .232 averrage, Morrison should only be owned for depth in AL-only leagues for his power (10 home runs).

Rays | Logan Morrison out Tuesday

Tue, 19 Jul 2016 14:24:40 -0700

Tampa Bay Rays 1B Logan Morrison will not start Tuesday, July 19, against the Colorado Rockies. 1B Steve Pearce is in the lineup and will hit fifth against Rockies SP Tyler Chatwood.

Fantasy Tip: Morrison (.232-10-31) is the backup to Pearce, who was hitting .322-9-25 before a hamstring issue sidelined him on June 20. Look for Pearce to get the bulk of the starts moving forward, which could cost Morrison some fantasy value. Still, with 10 home runs to his credit, don't be surprised if the team finds ways to get Morrison some at-bats.

Rays | Two Rays sit against lefty

Thu, 07 Jul 2016 06:30:12 -0700

Tampa Bay Rays 1B Logan Morrison and OF Corey Dickerson are out of the lineup Thursday, July 7, against Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim SP Hector Santiago. OF Steven Souza is hitting cleanup, and 2B Nick Franklin is hitting sixth.

Fantasy Tip: Souza has a .263-10-27 line and has upside at the cleanup spot. Franklin has a .303-1-11 line, and he's a low-end option against Santiago in DFS.

Rays | LoMo reaches 10 home runs

Tue, 05 Jul 2016 21:01:40 -0700

Tampa Bay Rays 1B Logan Morrison went 1-for-4 with a solo home run Tuesday, July 5, against the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim. The homer was his 10th of the season.

Fantasy Tip: Morrison has been a bit of a disappointment as far as average is concerned, but he has picked up the pace increasing his BA from .222 to .237 in 14 games since June 21. He remains a solid fantasy corner infielder in most AL-only and deeper mixed formats.

Rays | Logan Morrison drives in two

Mon, 04 Jul 2016 14:55:09 -0700

Tampa Bay Rays 1B Logan Morrison went 2-for-4 with one home run and two RBI against the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim Monday, July 4.

Fantasy Tip: Morrison has been a bit inconsistent over the past few weeks but does have at least one hit in three of his last four games. Morrison should be used in all AL-only leagues and may have some value in deeper mixed leagues.
