Mariners | Logan Morrison leading off

Mon, 01 Jun 2015 16:14:19 -0700

Seattle Mariners 1B Logan Morrison is batting first in the starting lineup Monday, June 1.

Fantasy Tip: Morrison ($3,600, 7.2% of cap) has been on a bit of a hot streak with at least one hit in each of his last eight games. He has not recorded an RBI in that span but did have 10 RBI in May. Owners on FantasyScore could consider Morrison as a starting option but may be able to find better options at a similar price.

Mariners | Logan Morrison stays hot

Sat, 09 May 2015 05:41:55 -0700

Seattle Mariners 1B Logan Morrison hit a walk-off home run in the 11th inning against the Oakland Athletics Friday, May 8. Morrison is currently sporting a .429/.474/.914 slash line with seven runs, four home runs and seven RBI over his last nine games.

Fantasy Tip: Given his cap hit, flashes of high-end production in the past and current form, Morrison ($2,200, 4.4% of cap) is an excellent low-priced target for FantasyScore players. He is worth a speculative add in deeper seasonal leagues, too, as Morrison is locked into everyday at-bats and is hitting behind the team's top hitters in the lineup.

Mariners | Logan Morrison sitting the bench

Mon, 27 Apr 2015 16:21:00 -0700

Seattle Mariners 1B Logan Morrison is not in the starting lineup Monday, April 27. SS Willie Bloomquist is starting at first base and hitting eighth in the batting order against Texas Rangers SP Yovani Gallardo.

Fantasy Tip: Morrison ($2,200, 4.4% of cap) is batting only .159 (10-for-63) with one home run and two RBI this year. Bloomquist ($1,600, 3.2% of cap) should be avoided in all FantasyScore lineups. He has virtually no fantasy upside at the plate.

Mariners | Bad luck for Logan Morrison?

Thu, 23 Apr 2015 10:40:32 -0700

Seattle Mariners 1B Logan Morrison has a .200 batting average on balls in play in the first month, which ranks among the worst in the majors. His career BABIP is .280 in six seasons. Opponents regularly shift on Morrison, though, since he is a dead-pull hitter. He faced similar shifts in 2014, though, and had a .345 BABIP in his final 51 games with a slash line of .321/.372/.506.

Fantasy Tip: Morrison ($2,200, 4.4% of cap) definitely has been unfortunate to start the 2015 season, going 9-for-51 (.176) with no home runs or RBI. His fortune will turn eventually, but he may never be more than a midrange first base option at FantasyScore, based on right-handed pitching matchups.

Mariners | Logan Morrison sitting Tuesday

Tue, 14 Apr 2015 16:38:16 -0700

Seattle Mariners 1B Logan Morrison is not in the starting lineup against Los Angeles Dodgers SP David Huff Tuesday, April 14. SS Willie Bloomquist is starting at first base and hitting eighth in the lineup.

Fantasy Tip: Morrison is sitting tonight while the team faces a lefty. Bloomquist ($1,600, 3.2% of cap) is a defensive specialist and should be ignored in FantasyScore contests.

Mariners | Jesus Montero, Brad Miller could see time at first base

Sat, 03 Jan 2015 10:11:02 -0800

Seattle Mariners 1B Logan Morrison has played fewer than 100 games in each of the last three seasons but general manager Jack Zduriencik doesn't feel acquiring a backup first baseman is a pressing need. DH/1B Jesus Montero is expected to see time at the position during spring training and SS Brad Miller could see action there if he loses the starting shortstop competition to INF Chris Taylor.

Mariners | Logan Morrison starting

Tue, 19 Aug 2014 12:00:49 -0700

Seattle Mariners 1B Logan Morrison is batting fifth and playing first base Tuesday, Aug. 19, against the Philadelphia Phillies.

Fantasy Tip: Morrison is an excellent target in daily games against A.J. Burnett, who struggles against left-handed hitters. Morrison has an affordable salary and promising lineup position.
