Athletics | Felix Doubront lands on DL

Mon, 04 Apr 2016 11:26:14 -0700

Oakland Athletics SP Felix Doubront (elbow) was placed on the 15-day disabled list with a sprained left elbow Monday, April 4, and 1B Andrew Lambo was recalled from Class AAA Nashville in a corresponding move.

Fantasy Tip: Doubront had minimal fantasy value in AL-only leagues, and now that is in question. Jesse Hahn is likely to take the start later this week against the Seattle Mariners, and he could get some run in the rotation with Doubront sidelined. Hahn is a flier in AL leagues for now.

Athletics | Coco Crisp expected to start in LF

Mon, 01 Feb 2016 16:28:47 -0800

Oakland Athletics OF Coco Crisp is expected to start in left field for the A's in 2016, if he's healthy. However, the 36-year-old played in just 44 games last year because of neck issues. 1B Mark Canha will see time at first base, but he, along with OFs Sam Fuld, Jake Smolinski and Andrew Lambo can fill in in the outfield.

Fantasy Tip: Canha gives fantasy owners the most to like of this group after drilling 16 home runs and driving in 70 RBI in 2015. How many games can you realistically expect Crisp to play given his age and injury concerns? There's a good chance he becomes a bench player even if he's healthy.

Pirates | Andrew Lambo placed on DL

Wed, 06 May 2015 22:15:42 -0700

Pittsburgh Pirates OF Andrew Lambo (foot) was placed on the 15-day disabled list Wednesday, May 6, due to plantar fasciitis in his left foot, and they purchased the contract of INF Steve Lombardozzi from Triple-A Indianapolis.

Fantasy Tip: Lambo was doing next to nothing anyway, so FantasyScore owners won't miss him terribly. Lombardozzi was hitting .379 in 24 games for Indianapolis so he could have some appeal to DFS owners if he gets a chance to start soon.

Pirates | Gregory Polanco scratched

Mon, 27 Apr 2015 15:33:28 -0700

Pittsburgh Pirates OF Gregory Polanco (undisclosed) has been scratched from the starting lineup Monday, April 27. OF Andrew Lambo will take Polanco's place and is batting second.

Fantasy Tip: Owners should monitor the situation to see if Polanco ($3,700, 7.4% of cap) is dealing with an injury. Lambo ($1,600, 3.2% of cap) only has one hit in 18 at-bats this season and is not a starting option on FantasyScore.

Pirates | Andrew McCutchen out Saturday

Sat, 11 Apr 2015 12:15:51 -0700

Pittsburgh Pirates OF Andrew McCutchen (knee) is not in the starting lineup against the Milwaukee Brewers Saturday, April 11, because of left knee pain. OF Starling Marte will play center field and bat cleanup, with OF Andrew Lambo playing left field and batting seventh.

Fantasy Tip: It is uncertain how much time McCutchen ($6,200, 12.4% of cap) will miss or even if he'll be available to pinch-hit later in the game, so keep checking back for updates. Marte ($4,800, 9.6% of cap) is a viable option for FantasyScore owners looking for a low-cost, high-potential outfielder but Lambo ($1,600) isn't worthy of consideration in daily leagues.

Tue, 27 Jan 2015 19:18:17 -0800

The Pittsburgh Pirates shipped OF Travis Snider to the Baltimore Orioles Tuesday, Jan. 27, but they have plenty of outfield depth behind the starters with OFs Andrew Lambo, Corey Hart, Josh Harrison and Jose Tabata providing depth.
