The Texas Rangers released Ps Joe Beimel and Mitch Stetter and OF Conor Jackson Monday, March 26. The team also optioned P Mark Hamburger to Triple-A Round Rock and assigned P Sean Green to minor league camp.

Texas Rangers Ps Scott Feldman, Mark Hamburger, Alexi Ogando, Martin Perez, Neil Ramirez and Robbie Ross will all be stretched out during the spring as if they were starters.

The Texas Rangers will have their young, upper-level pitchers come to Arlington from Jan. 17-20 for a pitching mini-camp, as it returns from a one-year hiatus. Special assistant Greg Maddux will also be in attendance, as will the team's coaching staff, including manager Ron Washington and pitching coach Mike Maddux. SP Neftali Feliz and RP Alexi Ogando highlight the list of pitchers, which also include SP Jake Brigham, P Miguel De Los Santos, P Wilmer Font, P Justin Grimm, RP Mark Hamburger, P Michael Kirkman, P Roman Mendez, RP Justin Miller, SP Martin Perez, SP Neil Ramirez, P Robbie Ross, RP Tanner Scheppers and P Matt West.

Texas Rangers Ps Mark Hamburger and Michael Kirkman will be sent to the Arizona instructional league in case the team needs them in the Championship Series or the World Series. RP Merkin Valdez has gone home to the Dominican Republic.

The Texas Rangers placed RP Darren O'Day (shoulder) on the disabled list with right shoulder inflammation Tuesday, Aug. 30, and recalled P Mark Hamburger from the minors in a corresponding move. Also, the team released P Ryan Tucker.

Texas Rangers RP Mark Hamburger's start for Triple-A Round Rock was shortened to one inning, and he is likely to be recalled sometime this week. He is 8-4 with a 3.39 ERA in 82 1/3 innings between Double-A Frisco and Round Rock.

MLB.com reports the Minnesota Twins acquired RP Eddie Guardado from the Texas Rangers in exchange for RP Mark Hamburger. Hamburger, 21, was 1-2, 4.17 ERA (36.2 IP, 17 ER) with 13 saves (14 opportunities) in 27 appearances for the Rookie-level Elizabethton Twins (Appalachian League) this season.
