The New York Yankees optioned OF Melky Mesa, Ps Ryan Pope and Eric Wordekemper to Double-A Trenton Wednesday, March 23, reports Wallace Matthews, of ESPNNewYork.com. IFs Brandon Laird and Kevin Russo were also optioned to Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre. The team also reassigned P Steve Garrison. C Jose Gil, OF Jordan Parraz and IF Jorge Vazquez to the team's minor league camp.
