Updating previous reports, the Toronto Blue Jays have placed P Dirk Hayhurst (shoulder) on the 60-day disabled list, according to MLB.com's Jordan Bastian. Hayhurst underwent right shoulder surgery Feb. 5 and is expected to be sidelined for most of the 2010 season.

Updating a previous item, The Toronto Star reports Toronto Blue Jays P Dirk Hayhurst (shoulder) will sit out up to six months after arthroscopic surgery revealed a frayed labrum in his pitching shoulder.

Jordan Bastian, of MLB.com, reports Toronto Blue Jays SP Dirk Hayhurst (shoulder) will undergo exploratory arthroscopic surgery on a sore right shoulder Friday, Feb. 5, taking him out of competition for a bullpen spot this year. The team will know more about his expected recovery time after the surgery is complete.

Updating previous reports, Toronto Blue Jays manager Cito Gaston said SP Brian Tallet (foot) could start Tuesday, Sept. 22, according to the Twitter page of MLB.com's Jordan Bastian. If he is unavailable, SP Scott Richmond could pitch on short rest, or P Dirk Hayhurst could be used.
