Adam Schefter, of NFL.com, reports there have been 15 underclassmen quarterbacks selected in the first round of the NFL Draft since 1990, when underclassmen first became eligible to be drafted after being only three years removed from high school instead of four. Of those 15, only five have been selected to a Pro Bowl - QB Vince Young, QB Ben Roethlisberger, QB Michael Vick, QB Trent Dilfer and QB Drew Bledsoe.

The Associated Press reports the Jacksonville Jaguars approached retired QB Drew Bledsoe (Cowboys) about a tryout but Bledsoe declined to come out of retirement Wednesday, Oct. 24.

Dave Buchanan, of WGR550 Sports Radio, reports former Dallas Cowboys QB Drew Bledsoe has announced his retirement from the NFL after 15 years in the league. He played nine seasons with the New England Patriots before being traded to the Bills in 2002 for a first round pick.

Mac Engel, of the Fort Worth Star-Telegram, reports Dallas Cowboys owner/general manager Jerry Jones said the team cut QB Drew Bledsoe for salary cap reasons and that the door is open for Bledsoe to return.

Rob Phillips, of DallasCowboys.com, reports Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones said the team might be in the market for a backup quarterback this offseason. He was not sure if QB Drew Bledsoe would retire. Jones said, "I don't know that he'll retire. That would surprise me, but it probably is not realistic to think that we could work something out here."

The Associated Press reports Indianapolis Colts QB Peyton Manning became the fastest quarterback ever to reach 3,000 completions. Manning reached the milestone after 139 games, beating former Miami Dolphins QB Dan Marino and Dallas Cowboys QB Drew Bledsoe's record of 146 games. Manning completed 14-of-20 passes for 183 yards with one touchdown and one interception against the Philadelphia Eagles.

Hill Jr., of the Fort Worth Star-Telegram, reports Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones admits having to lower his expectations for the season after QB Tony Romo took over for QB Drew Bledsoe. Jones said he is not disappointed in Romo, but said he is a realist about the current state of the team that led to the change in quarterback. While he supports head coach Bill Parcells' decision, Jones admits the move is disappointing and a setback.

Mac Engel, of the Fort Worth Star-Telegram, reports Dallas Cowboys QB Tony Romo will get the start in Week 8, according to a source. He is expected to begin practicing with the first team Wednesday, Oct. 25, and will do so all week. Romo replaced QB Drew Bledsoe in the second half of the team's Week 7 game, however, he was picked off three times as the Cowboys lost 36-22 to the New York Giants.
