San Diego Padres OF James Darnell (shoulder) received some good news on Saturday, May 19, as an MRI on his surgically repaired left shoulder showed no structural damage to his labrum.

The San Diego Padres placed SP Joe Wieland (elbow) on the 15-day disabled list with a strained right elbow Friday, May 11, and recalled OF James Darnell from Triple-A Tucson in a corresponding move. Wieland's DL stint is retroactive to May 7. Darnell was hitting .267 with six doubles, seven homers and 21 RBIs in 31 games with Tucson.

Financial terms weren't given.

San Diego Padres 3B James Darnell (shoulder) said his shoulder is completely healthy after having surgery to fix his left labrum last year. "It's 100 percent now and feels great," Darnell said. "I've been told it's actually better than before ... a little stronger than before. It's stronger in the joint than ever before."
