Giants | Brandon Crawford drives in three

Sun, 10 Jul 2016 20:24:07 -0700

San Francisco Giants SS Brandon Crawford went 2-for-3 with a double and three RBI in a 4-0 win over the Arizona Diamondbacks Sunday, July 10.

Fantasy Tip: Crawford has eight RBI in his last four games, and he is on pace to drive in more than 100 for the year. He won't hit a ton of homers, but as long as he is driving in runs at his current clip, he needs to be starting in all formats.

Giants | Brandon Crawford collects three more RBI

Fri, 08 Jul 2016 23:12:37 -0700

San Francisco Giants SS Brandon Crawford was 3-for-3 with a double, a home run and three RBI against the Arizona Diamondbacks on Friday, July 8.

Fantasy Tip: In his last 11 games, Crawford is batting .400 (16-for-40) with three home runs, eight runs scored and 16 RBI -- he now has 58 ribbies on the year, which leads all major-league shortstops. While none of his other numbers are eye popping, Crawford deserves to be owned in all leagues.

Giants | Ruben Tejada to see time versus lefties

Wed, 29 Jun 2016 17:25:49 -0700

San Francisco Giants INF Ruben Tejada is expected to serve as the club's primary option at third base versus left-handed pitching, according to manager Bruce Bochy. He can also be used to back up SS Brandon Crawford.

Fantasy Tip: Tejada hit just .176 in 34 at-bats for the St. Louis Cardinals this season but was 4-for-12 versus southpaws and is a career .282 hitter against lefties. He's worth rostering in deep NL-only fantasy leagues and can be used as a productive source of cap relief in DFS whenever the Giants are facing a lefty.

Giants | Brandon Crawford drives in five

Tue, 28 Jun 2016 23:24:24 -0700

San Francisco Giants SS Brandon Crawford went 3-for-5 with a run scored and five RBI against the Oakland Athletics on Tuesday, June 28.

Fantasy Tip: Crawford came up a home run short of the cycle, but it was still a huge night with his five RBI matching a season high (set May 17 against the Padres). He's still without a home run in June, but his 49 RBI are one shy of Trevor Story/Xander Bogaerts, who lead the position with 50. Even with that, Crawford is better suited to larger mixed leagues until he rediscovers his power stroke.

Giants | Brandon Crawford not starting Monday

Mon, 27 Jun 2016 15:14:39 -0700

San Francisco Giants SS Brandon Crawford (rest) is not in the starting lineup Monday, June 27. SS Ramiro Pena is starting in his place at shortstop and batting seventh versus Oakland Athletics SP Daniel Mengden.

Fantasy Tip: It looks like Crawford is simply getting a night off. Pena interestingly has 10 hits in his first 25 at-bats this season as a part-timer, but having not done anything of note since first coming up in 2009, he's someone that shouldn't even be an option for daily formats tonight.

Giants | Brandon Crawford moves up in order

Wed, 15 Jun 2016 10:55:32 -0700

San Francisco Giants SS Brandon Crawford is hitting third against Milwaukee Brewers SP Jimmy Nelson Wednesday, June 15, with 1B Brandon Belt (ankle) not playing.

Fantasy Tip: Crawford is quietly one of the more productive shortstops for fantasy owners, with a .268/.345/.427 slash line and six home runs and 37 RBI. Moving to the third spot gives him more daily fantasy value with the opportunity to drive in more runs in the middle of the order. He's a fine addition to any fantasy lineup in the matinee.

Giants | Three RBIs for Brandon Crawford

Tue, 14 Jun 2016 05:56:47 -0700

San Francisco Giants SS Brandon Crawford drove in three runs Monday, June 13, in an 11-5 win over the Milwaukee Brewers.

Fantasy Tip: Crawford's power may be off a bit as the third month of the season is midway through, but a .267-6-36 line for the season isn't bad. Crawford has 58 hits and is worth the play in DFS and regular formats.

Giants | Brandon Crawford out of the lineup

Wed, 01 Jun 2016 13:03:57 -0700

San Francisco Giants SS Brandon Crawford is not in the starting lineup Wednesday, June 1. 2B Kelby Tomlinson is starting at shortstop and batting eighth against Atlanta Braves SP Williams Perez Wednesday.

Fantasy Tip: Crawford is off to a solid start to 2016 with 21 runs, six home runs, 29 RBI, three stolen bases and a .257/.332/.421 slash line and is a viable starter at the 6 in all fantasy formats. Tomlinson has flier appeal in daily contests Wednesday because of his respectable .309 career batting average but batting in front of the pitcher limits his already low upside.

Giants | Brandon Crawford logs two hits, five RBI

Tue, 17 May 2016 22:58:45 -0700

San Francisco Giants SS Brandon Crawford went 2-for-3 with his fifth home run of the season Tuesday, May 17, against the San Diego Padres. He finished the night with a run scored and five RBI.

Fantasy Tip: Crawford's been underwhelming this year after his breakout campaign in 2015, but considering he only had one RBI in his last seven, perhaps this is the performance that ignites his season. He can still be one of the better shortstops for fantasy from the National League.

Giants | Brandon Crawford out with neck soreness

Sat, 14 May 2016 15:46:42 -0700

San Francisco Giants SS Brandon Crawford (neck) is out of the lineup Saturday, May 14, with neck soreness. He could play, but the team opted to rest him. SS Kelby Tomlinson is in the lineup hitting eighth.

Fantasy Tip: Tomlinson is up to .319 and a perfect 4-for-4 the last week. He's a basement flyer worth consideration against Archie Bradley.
