Sun, 27 Sep 2015 10:21:05 -0700

Philadelphia Phillies OF Odubel Herrera is out of the starting lineup Sunday, Sept. 27, against the Washington Nationals. OF Darin Ruf, who has been playing first base, is in left field. Ruf is batting fourth against Nationals SP Gio Gonzalez.

Phillies | Odubel Herrera out of lineup Saturday

Sat, 26 Sep 2015 11:51:19 -0700

Philadelphia Phillies OF Odubel Herrera is not in the starting lineup against Washington Nationals SP Stephen Strasburg Saturday, Sept. 26. OF Aaron Altherr will play center field and bat second, while INF/OF Darnell Sweeney will play left field and bat eighth.

Fantasy Tip: Altherr ($3,500, 7.0% of cap) is coming off the best game of his career. He went 4-for-5 with a double, two home runs and five RBIs against the Nats Friday and could be worth a flier today in FantasyScore. Sweeney ($3,300, 6.6% of cap) is hitless in his last 18 at-bats and should be avoided for the time being.

Phillies | Odubel Herrera was benched

Mon, 21 Sep 2015 09:37:32 -0700

Philadelphia Phillies OF Odubel Herrera was benched for pouting and failing to hustle by manager Pete Mackanin Sunday, Sept. 20. Mackanin wanted to "make sure he gets the message." "Lately he's been showing his emotions a little bit more. We're just not going to stand for it. He's got to understand that it doesn't work that way. I'm sure he's going to understand," Mackanin said. Herrera is hitting .293 with eight home runs and 40 RBI on the year.

Fantasy Tip: Herrera ($3,700, 7.4% of cap), despite his attitude, has been one of the few bright spots for the Phils in 2015. He has continued to hit in September, going 18-for-60 (.300) with two homers and six RBI. When he's in the lineup, he's not a bad under-the-radar daily selection in the right matchup.

Phillies | Odubel Herrera resting Tuesday

Tue, 01 Sep 2015 11:36:20 -0700

Philadelphia Phillies OF Odubel Herrera is not in the starting lineup Tuesday, Sept. 1. SS Darnell Sweeney is starting in center field and hitting leadoff against New York Mets SP Jon Niese.

Fantasy Tip: Sweeney ($2,100, 4.2% of cap) has only three hits in 12 at-bats for the Phils since being called up, but two of those knocks were home runs. Still, he's a low-end FantasyScore commodity until we see more, even hitting in a great daily spot in the lineup tonight.

Phillies | Four hits for Odubel Herrera

Sun, 30 Aug 2015 15:54:24 -0700

Philadelphia Phillies OF Odubel Herrera had four singles Sunday, Aug. 30, in a 9-4 loss to the San Diego Padres.

Fantasy Tip: Herrera ($3,700, 7.4% of cap) has been a dominant player for a Rule 5 selection, and he has turned into a reliable hitter for the Phillies. It's been a decent season, and that price makes Herrera a decent FantasyScore option.

Wed, 05 Aug 2015 22:08:20 -0700

Fantasy Tip: Herrera ($3,100, 6.2% of cap) is hitting .364 (12-for-33) with 10 runs scored during his current eight-game hitting streak. He is a strong low-end FantasyScore play due to his solid average during his streak and his low DFS salary.

Phillies | Cody Asche remains out

Thu, 30 Jul 2015 12:48:41 -0700

Philadelphia Phillies OF Cody Asche is not in the starting lineup Thursday, July 30. OF Odubel Herrera draws into the lineup, and he is playing center field and batting fifth against Atlanta Braves SP Shelby Miller Thursday. OF Jeff Francoeur is also not in the starting lineup Thursday.

Fantasy Tip: The Phillies outfield is beginning look like a bit of a daily shuffle with no one starting each of the past four games. Asche ($2,500, 5.0% of cap), Herrera ($3,100, 6.2% of cap), Francoeur ($2,800, 5.6% of cap), Domonic Brown ($2,300, 4.6% of cap) and Ben Revere ($4,200, 8.4% of cap) are all currently competing for playing time, but it wouldn't be shocking to see one of them traded and open up more at-bats. Against Miller ($8,600, 17.2% of cap) Thursday, none of the Philadelphia outfielders are worth a look at FantasyScore, though, and they're all low-end fantasy outfield options.
