Chicago White Sox 3B Matt Davidson could open the season in the big leagues, according to general manager Rick Hahn. Currently, he is listed behind veteran INFs Jeff Keppinger and Conor Gillaspie, but Hahn is not ruling him out. "It certainly is possible he breaks with us opening day, but if that's not the case we'll see a lot of him this season once we feel he is truly ready," Hahn said in a television interview. "There's still a few areas he's going to improve in and we need to see some refinement."

Chicago White Sox 3B Matt Davidson will be squarely in the mix to win the starting third base job this spring. "We still have guys who can play there, but it's a competition, definitely," said manager Robin Ventura. "He has every reason to go in there and try to win the job." 3Bs Conor Gillaspie and Jeff Keppinger are in the mix for competition at the hot corner.

Chicago White Sox 2B Gordon Beckham (wrist) is not in the lineup again Monday, July 22, and he's unsure if he can avoid the disabled list. He will rest for at least the next two days.
Fantasy Tip: If Beckham goes back on the DL, Jeff Keppinger can slide over to second base and Conor Gillaspie can play the hot corner. Aside from his injuries this year, Beckham has made some nice adjustments at the plate. He's worth stashing if he goes back on the DL in deep mixed leagues.

The Chicago White Sox have placed 1B Paul Konerko (back) on the 15-day disabled list because of a lower back strain. The team has also placed RP Jesse Crain (shoulder) on the 15-day DL because of a right shoulder strain. The move is retroactive to June 30.
Fantasy Tip: Konerko has been dealing with his back injury for the last week or so and will sit out to allow it to heal. Jeff Keppinger could see most of the time at first base while Konerko is out with Conor Gillaspie and Brent Morel splitting time at third base. Both Gillaspie and Morel could have value in AL-only leagues.

Chicago White Sox 1B Paul Konerko (back) received six injections in his back Friday, June 28. He'll try to take batting practice Saturday, June 29, and play Sunday, June 30. If he can't, he'll likely land on the disabled list.
Fantasy Tip: Adam Dunn would likely see most of the starts at first base if Konerko were sidelined. Conor Gillaspie or Brent Morel could also fill in, if needed, but they could also be used in the designated hitter role if Dunn plays first.

The Chicago White Sox placed 3B Conor Gillaspie on the paternity list Wednesday, June 26, and recalled 3B Brent Morel from Triple-A Charlotte in a corresponding move.
Fantasy Tip: Gillaspie could miss up to three days. Morel is a short-term, temporary fill-in that'll likely be sent back down when Gillaspie returns to the team.

Chicago White Sox 3B Conor Gillaspie has earned the right to maintain most of his playing time after 2B Gordon Beckham (hand) returns. Being a left-handed hitter helps Gillaspie's odds of suiting up a majority of the time.
Fantasy Tip: Jeff Keppinger has started to hit a bit lately and probably would still start versus a southpaw. This is a messy situation for AL-only players, but Gillaspie being on the good end of this three-way platoon bodes well for his rest-of-season opportunities.
