The San Diego Padres traded P Wynn Pelzer to the Baltimore Orioles Thursday, July 29, in exchange for 3B Miguel Tejada and half of the $2.33 million he is owed this year, according to MLB.com's Corey Brock.

The Baltimore Orioles acquired P Wynn Pelzer from the San Diego Padres Thursday, July 29, in exchange for 3B Miguel Tejada and half of the $2.33 million he is owed this year, according to MLB.com's Corey Brock. Pelzer was 6-9 with a 4.20 ERA in 22 games with Double-A San Antonio with the Padres this year.

The St. Petersburg Times reports the San Diego Padres have inquired about both Tampa Bay Rays SPs Jason Hammel and Jeff Niemann. In return, the Rays have inquired about Padres prospects Simon Castro, Wynn Pelzer, Juedy Valdez and Nick Schmidt, according to The San Diego Union-Tribune.

Padres.MLB.com's Jon Blau reports San Diego Padres SP Wynn Pelzer went 3-1 with a 1.38 ERA for Class A Fort Wayne. He struck out 21 in 26 innings and was named Minor League Pitcher of the Month for July.
