Broncos | Virgil Green continues to play

Tue, 16 Dec 2014 14:21:23 -0800

Denver Broncos TE Virgil Green continued to lead the team's tight ends in snaps with 50 in Week 15 against the San Diego Chargers, even with TE Julius Thomas (ankle) back on the field. Thomas played just 29 snaps in his first game back from injury. OT Chris Clark also lined up as an extra tight end for seven snaps in the team's first two possessions. TE Dominique Jones played four snaps at tight end.

Fantasy Tip: Green's excellent run-blocking ability has led to his increased playing time, as well as Thomas' injury. Thomas ($6,500) should start to see more snaps as he gets closer to 100 percent health, though. Week 16 against the Cincinnati Bengals may not be the time to put full trust back in Thomas, though, as the Bengals have held tight ends to an average of just 3.48 fantasy points in the last four weeks.

Broncos | Broncos want to improve ground game

Fri, 07 Nov 2014 10:59:49 -0800

Denver Broncos offensive coordinator Adam Gase was frustrated with the effort in the running game after their Week 9 loss to the New England Patriots. "I was really frustrated with the fact that we did not run the ball better. We do need to find a way to do it better. It's something we have to keep working on. We have to find a way to get these guys covered up (blocked), get our backs back to the line of the scrimmage and see what they can do," Gase said. OT Chris Clark could see his first start of the year at right tackle in Week 10 with OT Paul Cornick (shoulder) injured. Also, OG Louis Vasquez could shift from right guard to right tackle. However, that would mean putting C Will Montgomery or C Manuel Ramirez in at right guard. The Broncos rank 27th in the league with an average of 94.1 rushing yards per game, and they are serious about improving.

Fantasy Tip: Ronnie Hillman is expected to remain as the team's top running back, but Montee Ball (groin) could be returning soon, and they're likely to get him involved again, even if it's in short-yardage situations to begin with. Against the Raiders in Week 10, Hillman ($5,500) is the only Denver running back you should want in your FantasyScore lineups this weekend, though.
