Miami Marlins OF Logan Morrison is expected to start in left field in 2012, with OF Emilio Bonifacio starting in center field, and OF Mike Stanton holding it down in right. OFs Scott Cousins, Kevin Mattison, Bryan Petersen and Aaron Rowand are in the mix for backup spots along with OF Chris Coghlan (knee).

Many teams are interested in trading for Miami Marlins OF Christian Yelich, and he would likely have to be part of a package to land Chicago Cubs SP Matt Garza. OFs Mike Stanton and Logan Morrison are off limits.

The Miami Marlins appear to be long shots to acquire Oakland Athletics SP Gio Gonzalez in a trade this winter. Miami is not willing to part with a player such as OF Mike Stanton to land the lefty.

The Oakland Athletics have a very high asking price for SP Gio Gonzalez. They apparently asked for Miami Marlins OF Mike Stanton in return in their talks.
