Fantasy Tip: Get Stanton in your lineups. This will complicate matters among Marcell Ozuna, Juan Pierre and Justin Ruggiano. Expect some sort of platoon arrangement between these three, with Ozuna being the most intriguing option if he remains in the big leagues.

Fantasy Tip: Stanton and Solano will return to starting duties, but Mahoney will likely serve as the backup to Casey Kotchman at first base. Marcell Ozuna's hot bat should keep him in the everyday lineup even with the return of Stanton. A platoon in left field between Juan Pierre and Justin Ruggiano could be in order.
Fri, 07 Jun 2013 11:56:59 -0700 Miami Marlins OF Marcell Ozuna has impressed scouts after being thrown into the mix thanks to OF Giancarlo Stanton's (hamstring) injury. One scout described Ozuna as "Yasiel Puig, minus the hype." Ozuna had played only 24 games above Class A ball but has a slash line of .326/.370/.473 after 34 games with the Marlins. Ozuna could push the team to get rid of Stanton after this season. "When he first came up, if he got into a 3-1 count or 3-2, you could throw a pitch anywhere -- in the dirt, a foot outside -- and he'd still swing at it," hitting coach Tino Martinez said. "But you tell this kid something, he gets it. About two and a half weeks ago, we talked before his first at-bat about looking for a pitch he could drive. Instead, he swings at a pitcher's pitch, rolls it over to the shortstop and comes in and says, 'How did I do?' I said, 'Terrible,' although I might have used some other words than 'terrible.' I said, 'I told you to look for a ball to drive.' He listened, and it was like, from that moment on, that was it. He's been a totally different player. That's not coaching. That's listening." Fantasy Tip: Ozuna has impressed us, but his results are still under a small sample size. There is room for regression, especially since it looks as though he's here to stay, even when Stanton returns from the DL. The fact that Ozuna should remain in the picture will give him long-term value in deep mixed leagues, though.

He played seven innings in the outfield Wednesday, June 5. Stanton expects to come off the disabled list Monday, June 10. Fantasy Tip: This will make fantasy owners rejoice. Marcell Ozuna is expected to move to center field, and that may signal the end for Juan Pierre with Justin Ruggiano in left. However, don't write off Pierre just yet; he could platoon with Ruggiano in left so the team can utilize his speed occasionally.

Fantasy Tip: Looks as though the Marlins will get creative to keep two of their hottest bats in the lineup, Coghlan and Ozuna, when Stanton comes back. Coghlan and Ozuna might be available in your deep mixed league. While their swinging well and seeing playing time, it's not a bad idea to give them a run.

Fantasy Tip: Don't expect this to be a short and quick rehab assignment for Stanton. The Marlins indicated that they'll make sure he's absolutely 100 percent before bring him back. Marcell Ozuna will lose playing time when Stanton returns, and he could be sent back to the minors.

SP Nathan Eovaldi (shoulder) will start for Double-A Jacksonville Tuesday, June 4, and he could come off the disabled list after that.
