Marlins | Giancarlo Stanton receiving a breather

Thu, 21 Jul 2016 12:33:20 -0700

Miami Marlins OF Giancarlo Stanton is not in the starting lineup Thursday, July 21. OF Ichiro Suzuki is starting in right field and leading off against Philadelphia Phillies SP Jerad Eickhoff Thursday.

Fantasy Tip: Stanton has found his slugging form with six home runs, 18 RBI and a .600 slugging percentage over his past 21 games. Sub him out where you can in seasonal lineups Thursday. Suzuki is batting .341 this season and is a viable low-priced flier in daily contests Thursday. He's also a depth option to plug into your cavernous mixed and NL-only lineups when he's playing. For those keeping track at home, Suzuki is up to 2,994 career hits.

Marlins | Giancarlo Stanton more relaxed

Wed, 06 Jul 2016 12:22:25 -0700

Miami Marlins OF Giancarlo Stanton's hands are more relaxed and moving in his setup at the plate.

Fantasy Tip: Stanton had been a pretty big disappointment to his owners, but he now has four home runs in his last two games and is hitting .298 (14-for-47) with four dingers and 13 RBI since June 23. It looks like the streaky slugger is back and more comfortable at the plate. You've missed your chance to buy low.

Marlins | Giancarlo Stanton lights up the Big Apple

Tue, 05 Jul 2016 21:36:02 -0700

Miami Marlins OF Giancarlo Stanton supplied all of his team's offense versus the New York Mets on Tuesday, July 5, finishing 3-for-4 with a two-run blast in the seventh inning and a three-run shot in the eighth en route to a 5-2 road win.

Fantasy Tip: In part because he was battling through injuries, Stanton was batting .193 in mid-June, so it is no small feat he has lifted that mark 33 points in less than a month. Despite his overall struggles, he still has 17 homers and 45 RBI and has been able to stay on the field for the most part this season. Tonight is a good example of what Stanton can do when he's right, so owners need to remain patient and keep him active.

Sat, 02 Jul 2016 10:30:25 -0700

Miami Marlins OF Giancarlo Stanton and SS Adeiny Hechavarria are not in the starting lineup against Atlanta Braves SP Lucas Harrell Saturday, July 2. OF Ichiro Suzuki will bat leadoff and play right field, while INF Miguel Rojas will bat eighth and play shortstop.

Fantasy Tip: Suzuki is batting .342 through 155 at-bats this season and makes a productive source of salary cap relief for DFS, whereas Rojas should be viewed strictly as an inexpensive flier.
