Marlins | Giancarlo Stanton shaky at home

Sun, 24 May 2015 15:45:03 -0700

Miami Marlins OF Giancarlo Stanton is hitting .154 (6-for-39) on his team's current homestand.

Fantasy Tip: Stanton ($6,200, 12.4% of cap) has had slumps before and come out of them. The entire team seems like it is in a funk now, even though it has won two games in a row. Stash Stanton on your bench until he puts together a couple of solid games in a row.

Marlins | Giancarlo Stanton hitting moonshots

Sun, 17 May 2015 05:13:08 -0700

Miami Marlins OF Giancarlo Stanton hit a 475' home run Saturday, May 16, off Atlanta Braves SP Alex Wood. Stanton has hit the four longest home runs in Marlins Park history (since 2012), the three longest home runs in the major leagues over the last week and three of the five longest of the season.

Fantasy Tip: Stanton ($6,100, 12.2% of cap) isn't surprising anyone with this tear. Since Tuesday, May 12, Stanton has four home runs, four runs scored and seven RBI. Stanton hasn't finished with less than four points on FantasyScore in his last four games, and owners need to find a way to get him in their lineups.

Marlins | Giancarlo Stanton enjoys Nationals Park

Mon, 04 May 2015 13:14:20 -0700

Miami Marlins OF Giancarlo Stanton has a career .366 batting average at Nationals Park, and he leads all visiting players with 14 career home runs at the venue.

Fantasy Tip: Stanton ($6,200, 12.4% of cap) was a little slow out of the gate, but he has a .319/.372/.681 slash line over the past 18 games with 16 runs, six home runs and 21 RBI. When he is in a groove at the dish, there are fewer better hitters. Stanton is a nightly consideration for FantasyScore contests.

Marlins | Giancarlo Stanton takes off mask

Wed, 15 Apr 2015 14:23:01 -0700

Miami Marlins OF Giancarlo Stanton is not using his protective mask on the left side of his helmet when facing left-handed pitchers. He went 0-for-4 Wednesday, April 15, but is still using the mask against righties.

Fantasy Tip: Stanton ($6,100, 12.2% of cap) has six hits in 26 at-bats to start the year, and he has yet to hit a home run, which is mildly concerning. It's likely just a slow start, and there's a good chance Stanton will turn things around shortly. In the right matchups while he's starting slow, Stanton is still worth playing confidently at FantasyScore.

Marlins | Giancarlo starting in funk

Tue, 14 Apr 2015 11:41:07 -0700

Miami Marlins OF Giancarlo Stanton went 0-for-4 Monday, April 13, and he is hitting just .130 with no home runs to start the season.

Fantasy Tip: It's still early, so you shouldn't be too worried about Stanton ($6,100, 12.2% of cap), but it's something to keep an eye on. Perhaps you look to avoid him at FantasyScore until he shows signs of life. A matchup against Atlanta Braves starter Trevor Cahill Tuesday could be the perfect time to break out, though.

Marlins | Giancarlo Stanton shows off power

Thu, 26 Mar 2015 18:49:51 -0700

Miami Marlins OF Giancarlo Stanton had a double and home run in two at-bats Thursday, March 26, driving in two runs in a 5-3 win over the St. Louis Cardinals.

Marlins | Giancarlo Stanton on track

Thu, 05 Mar 2015 15:16:37 -0800

Miami Marlins OF Giancarlo Stanton (face) played four innings and had two at-bats in his first spring game Thursday, March 5, and he flied out twice and made two nice plays in the outfield. "It felt great," the slugger said. "I felt good in the box. We're right on track. But it was good to be in a game setting again." Any concerns about Stanton being hesitant at the plate were answered with St. Louis Cardinals SP Carlos Martinez humming heaters in at 95-96 mph. Stanton isn't being held back at all this spring, and he's in the process of getting his timing down at the plate. He feels mentally and physically ready, but he is wearing a wire attachment on his helmet as a precaution.

Fantasy Tip: In the aftermath of Stanton's beaning last September and facial surgery that followed, the only real concern about him that fantasy owners had going into 2015 was how he would react to pitches this spring. Now that that doesn't seem to be a concern, you shouldn't have any hesitations making Stanton a top-five pick in drafts.
